  3. Nice looking pick, ive got one made from a leaf spring that will never wear out. I keep it sharp so it will work....
  4. Whatever tool you choose keep it Sharp, i always keep a file in my bag so I can do that, a blunt tool no matter what it is is next to useless. I dont remember who made it but like the Lesche its indestructible....I have to smile i can remember hunting years ago (early 70s) with Dad. "The old Coinshooter". He used a tool that looked like a sharpened length of conduit which is exactly what it was but he would jab around make a nice cut or probe around with it.. I saw him pull a ring out of the soil and he had centered it thru the ring...In the early 70s he found a huge mans gold ring in an old park in Longview Wa.. I never saw the ring nor did my Mom but he sold it to the jeweler that cleaned it and appraised it.. The next time i vissited they were driving a new Ranchero.....

  6. Your best spots around an old homesite are inconspicuous landmarks that are visible from windows that are observation points.....
  7. Make yourself a rake magnet, I had one myself worked pretty good.. You need about 4 super magnets just stick them above the tines you can rake squares you want to detect. Takes a little time but so does digging trash...
  8. I knew the family that mined there .... They are all gone now have been for years, the owner of the gold camp worked for them.....
  9. Its a tough place to hunt, but as always its patience and perseverance....lol ive been skunked in a lot of places but sometimes you make the right turn...

  11. Burma Thai Railroad... Pows died here building this railroad, very solemn sorrowful place... Good to know History and never forget these heros who gave their all...
  12. I have one i really like, its a WW2 type entrenching tool, works well for me...Keep your shovel sharp it will work well cutting thru roots etc....
