  1. To be interested in a new machine I need discrimination, a waterproof unit, Mac OS comparability, free income tax preparation and discount coupons for pizza, ammo and new tires.
  2. This is great list of opportunities to give back and help clean up the environment. Thanks Mitchel.
  3. VA Nurse Paul probably lost this a few years ago. Did you find any flip-flops near it?
  4. No skunk and a nice follow up with the gold ring. The Sierras are beautiful. Well done Mitchel.
  5. A nice collection Peg! You definitely had a Monster good time. Give Pup a pet for me.
  6. Is it worth the extra cost for the Hi-Lift Extreme version?
  7. Dave, I would enjoy an audio version (Audible?) of both books. These would be great to listen to driving to Rye Patch, Gold Basin and points unknown.
  8. You may not be able to name the bad actors but you can name the good guys.
  9. Wow, fantastic videos. This solves a real problem I have been struggling with. Thank you.
  10. Paul, it looks like you are in the process of going native.
  11. After the high cost of the GPX battery, the GPZ battery seem like a bargain so I got two.
  12. Gold always wins. Timing is the unknown. Hang in there. Fiat currency initially has lots of fans but in the end is an orphan.
  13. Thank you Mitchel, a super report. This is really helpful to get a sense of the new settings and to set realistic expectations. I hope to get out soon, but with this heat in SoCal I may have to wait for a full moon. Do you need to take any special precautions with animals or bugs at night?
  14. The percentages of the elements in your find from XRF match well with commercial brass known as Alpha brass. From Wikipedia: "Alpha brasses are malleable, can be worked cold, and are used in pressing, forging, or similar applications. They contain only one phase, with face-centered cubic crystal structure. With their high proportion of copper, these brasses have a more golden hue than others". The Romans used a gold colored brass alloy called orichalcum similar to your find to make coins. This is a Vespasian dupondius from 77-78 AD.
  15. I just did my upgrade. Thanks Steve, it would have been a struggle without your directions.
  16. Nice going madtuna! You are keeping the dream alive for all of us.
  17. I am glad you are OK Klunker. Those gold fangs can destroy lives leaving permanent cases of gold fever.
  18. June 30th is Asteroid Day. Here is a link to the Earth Sky article: http://earthsky.org/space/international-asteroid-day-june-30?utm_source=EarthSky+News&utm_campaign=36f22b71b1-EarthSky_News&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_c643945d79-36f22b71b1-393520345&mc_cid=36f22b71b1&mc_eid=7180e93e0a
  19. A nice collection of nuggets Lunk. Well done. In prior posts you and others have observed that even the little guys hit pretty hard. Did these nuggets respond crisply or subtlely? Any additional comments on the GM's nugget response profile?
