  1. Since these 4 guys needed a ready made list to know what to bring with them to survive tells me they are "greenhorns".....so IMHO the one thing they really need to bring is an experienced "oldtimer" also known as the "1860s equivalent of the GPZ 7000" to show them how to find gold , and not get lost and how to survive in the first place!!

  3. That last episode of Gold Rush was on Friday night and Parker had a great season, only second to last year by a small margin, it appears he has no definite location to mine next season so I think the Ruby Mine would be the perfect place for him to go, just think of all the set backs, drama, etc. the California Bureaucracy could add to the show, the Discovery Channel couldn't ask for more!!!
  4. My user's name is self explanatory, as we all are I'm a seeker of gold, I didn't choose the user's name it was suggested by the owner/Administrator of a very old but now long gone gold forum from back in the early 90s when every name I tried to register with seems to be already in use, I liked it and have stuck with it ever since, on a few gold forums Gold Seeker is already spoken for so I'm A.K.A. on those forums as Au Seeker. I have never hid from my real name and many forum users know me by my first name...Skip
  5. I agree....BUT I also think that if any new "patches" have been discovered the finders are keeping it quiet or else they would at some point be followed to their new patch and it will be cleaned out...well at the very least I like to think this is the way it is and there are new patches being found!! I do know that over here on the east coast that can be a real possibly because much of the land where gold has been found in the old days is private land and much of that private land has not been hunted with modern technology.
  6. I'm sure they knew they had a tourist and jumped at the chance to make a big profit !! Even though the rental location was a "Premium Station" I'm sure the vehicle wasn't a premium vehicle since as we all know most if not all rentals aren't premium vehicles, so he should have gotten a discount!!
  7. I agree I have a couple of 100' and 50' tape measures that have a folding handles just like what you have found. Love the Red Cross pin!
  8. Not really mining but about a huge gold nugget, a comedy from Australia. The Nugget. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0278597/
  9. Back on the OP subject of nickels, there's a good reason that most don't find what he would term "old" nickels, Shield nickels were only minted for 17 years (1866-1883), Liberty nickels were minted for 30 years (1883-1913), Buffalo nickels were minted for 25 years (1913-1938), on the other hand Jefferson nickels have been minted for 80 years and still counting (1938-present), more than the other 3 mintings combined, and of course it's easier to find a more or less recently lost nickel than any of the others that were most likely losted up to 80 or more years ago.
  10. Most adapters don't work correctly but a few found one a Ace Hardware that worked, but others bought the only one they found at their local Ace Hardware store and it didn't work for them, so that source is sorta the luck of the draw, there's a fellow on another forum that has been making one that does work for his friends and a few fellow forum members that does seem to work for all who has gotten one from him.
  11. GMS, Out of curiosity I checked out your website, IMHO you could of make it much easier for you to removed these bogus ads much sooner if you a "Contact" link on your website, I looked everywhere and couldn't find a contact link, so if you do indeed have one you should make it easier to find!!
  12. While the Gold Monster is looking to be a GREAT detector, I don't think it has the depth to pick up any nuggets no matter how big they are from altitude when she flying over the gold fields!! But the way you have it setup I'm sure she will "cleanup" if you can get her a land it for a bit.

  15. I have never use the Garrett pan before because of the small bottom, I like the large bottom pans much better, so it looks like I may have to get one of these and see how it works, it maybe my new favorite pan!!
  16. Merry Christmas and safe and Happy New Year!
  17. Way to go Klunker, Minelab should give him a free detector!!
  18. That's a great idea but I would never get my kids to wash the truck/tires again after a few bean dishes or burittos!
  19. Double Happies, I hope ya'll had a great day!
  20. Steve do you know if this coil is in testing stage, I don't see it on Garrett's website and can't find it listed for sale anywhere else? It's a different design where it attaches to the shaft from the coils that are available for the ATX, at first I was thinking it was an aftermarket coil but in the video and towards the end of the video when Nuggetnoggin was showing the ATX in it's case it does clearly show a Garrett name tag on it. Edit: I also found this website that says there's a same size and design mono coil out as well, still haven't seen either for sale anywhere but still looking. http://md-hunter.com/garrett-atx-11x13-searchcoil-new-2016/
  21. What do you mean it's not a nugget??? Of course it's a nugget, albeit a refined and processed nugget....with possible diamonds!!!! Are the diamonds real?
  22. Jim, With the VSat being a older model it's possible that Whites may not be able to give it a checkup and or fix it if it needs work, I would think they would be able to at least check it out, but I would suggest you send Tom A.K.A. "tboykin" here on the forum a PM, he works for Whites and he has been very helpful to other memebers here on the forum and at the very least he should be able confirm if Whites can do a checkup on your VSat or not and if it's possible he should be abke to help you get it done I would think. Here's a link to his profile page so you can send him a PM and go from there. http://www.detectorprospector.com/forum/profile/957-tboykin/ .
