  1. Here's your video. At YouTube if you click on the "share" link, a window will popup, then click on the blue "copy" link you will see the video link turn blue, then come here and right click in your post and then click "paste" your video will appear in your post here and can be watched by forum members without going to YouTube.
  2. Your link just bring us back to this topic, not to the video.
  3. Joe read his post again, he doesn't have a detector yet, he's considering the Equinox 600 or the 800.
  4. IMHO save your money, most metal detectors don't work so well inside houses due to EMI, but more importantly there are so many nails, screws, wiring and ductwork, etc. all made of metal that you will never know what the detector is signaling on, you would have better luck just tearing out the wall/floor coverings and looking for any treasure that way!
  5. Are there any markings/numbers on the bottom of the jar?
  6. Yes I would say the penny could date the jar which were just starting to come into use by that date, if so it would be one of the first "threaded" jars made, it seems the earliest ones were possibly made around 1906 but first advertised in 1908.....BUT the jar could be and most likely would be of a later date depending on how long the site was used. That penny could of been 10 or more years old when lost, or lost in 1907. Here's another link on Vaseline jars and their history. https://sha.org/bottle/pdffiles/Vaseline2015.pdf
  7. I was just giving you a hard time, I know how it feels to even find a very very small piece of gold, or any gold for that matter!!
  8. Nice Finds! The Vaseline jar is from the early to mid 20th century, hard to date exactly because they used that same jar for that time span. https://glassbottlemarks.com/chesebrough-manufg-co-vaseline-jars/ Dating the site might be a better way to date the jar.
  9. Simon, I'm going to call you out on "the smaller the better", I can just see you now cussing up a storm 🤬 because you found a 1/4 ounce nugget instead of a .009 piece!!! 🤣 This is more unbelievable because the 1/4 nugget is a much more rare of a find where you are than the .009 piece.
  10. She's definitely bad ass, but she did all that work for only 2 to 3 grams of gold at the most, more power to her...but not me!!
  11. My thoughts and prayers are going out for a quick and full recovery.
  12. OR.......... just use or even better become a member of My Land Matters and use it to get all that you could do on Google Earth and more, it's all been done for you and it's updated as often as it's possible to do!! All you have to do is learn to use it.
  13. One hazard not mentioned and has killed people who go into old mines is poisonous gases that build up down in some mines, you usually can't smell the gas and one lung full is usually enough to kill a person or at least make you pass out and then you die as you breathe more of the bad air. When the mines were active the miners had ventilation installed to vent out any bad air and pump in fresh air. What Ridge Runner is saying about some of it went downhill is, when the miners were removing the gold bearing ore they would haul it out of the mine and then had chutes that they dumped it in to get the ore downhill where they would process it to remove the gold, there could still be some gold bearing ore at the bottom of the hill that spilled out or was never processed.
  14. I looked at the first photo before reading the post, I thought Gerry went and done it....put too big of a gold nugget in his mouth and his teeth fell out!!! LOL
  15. Poor critter who stepped on it must of got one hell of a hot foot!! I would keep it just because of the paw print on it!!
  16. The latest version is 1.47.2, Steve posted it couple of weeks ago, not sure if this latest version is available yet but should be soon if not by now. EDIT: I see you both have seen this topic, so you both already know about the possible update.
  17. He's active here on the forum.... @Clay Diggins he should see this since I have "mentioned" him in this reply when he stops by next and can answer your question.
  18. We have some of those as well here in Florida, occasionally some are even bigger, they are a invasive species, people got them a pets and when they got too big they released them in the Everglades (swamps) and they have reproduced very rapidly and now they are killing/eating most of the native wildlife to the point many are becoming endangered!! We have the same issue with the large lizards (Iguanas and Monitor type lizards) people got as pets and released as they got too big.
  19. 14/16 what? certainly not feet!! The Eastern Diamondback is the world's largest rattlesnake and they don't get that big!
  20. That could be a world record snake, I think the record now is just under 5 feet and from Montana. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crotalus_viridis
  21. Not sure about having to polish it after, I have just always read of people doing it that way, but you can also try Tarn-X instead.
  22. Have you ever tried cleaning silver with aluminum foil and baking soda? Do a search many websites and videos about how to do it out there.
