My Creative Detecting / Overlanding Rig
matt replied to Goldseeker5000's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
What a great adventure that many of us could never do. Looking forward to hearing more about it. -
I had the same experience turning in a gold ring that I found. Guaranteed the lady kept it for herself and never even put it into the lost and found. Learned my lesson and now when I find something I leave my name and phone number and if the person that lost it comes looking they can call me and describe what they lost. If they can do that I'll give it back to them.

That looks like an old Chuck-E-Cheese token. You could get them with custom letters stamped into them.

Excellent! Very nice. Congrats!

Thanks Art!!! I think I'll order one. Should be good for both the beach and nugget shooting.

I really like the look and size of that hat! Any chance you can post a link to where you purchased it and let me know what size/style and price? Thanks!

Coiltek Coils For The GPX 6000 - Confirmed!
matt replied to Coiltek's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
My favorite coil size for the GPX series detectors has always been the 9x13 mono coils. That was what I used almost exclusively. Hope they make one for the 6000! -
Hope you are right Gerry! I would sure like to get my hands on mine sooner than later for some high country hunts.

Are You Ready To Pull The Trigger On The 6000 ?
matt replied to Ridge Runner's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
I was one of the first to put my money down with a dealer but he won't tell me where I stand in line when he gets them in. I have a feeling he will take care of his regular customers before me since I have only made one purchase from him in the past. If that ends up being the case it will be my last purchase from him or I will get my deposit back and purchase elsewhere. -

Rechargeable " Canned Air " Blower
matt replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
Looks good. I always keep a Dewalt mini blower in my truck when traveling on dirt roads. When I get to my cabin and blow the truck off. Since all my tools are Dewalt I have many batteries. Not as compact as the blower you posted but has a lot of power. -
Your finds are always a lot of fun to read about. Hope they keep on coming out of the ground for you!

Really cool post Peg! That's a lot of shark teeth! How many trips did it take you to find them? What a great way to spend the winter months. My wife and daughter want to look at Florida to escape California...

Probably the best book I have ever read besides the Diary of a 49er.

Glad to know that david billy was involved with the design. Never heard of him, but ok...

Most of the wealthiest people on earth became rich because of real estate. The best investment you can make is purchasing your first home. Buy the worst house in the best neighborhood you can afford. Sweat equity and paying off debt as quickly as possible can change your life. Once you can live debt free you can...(insert dream here)...the possibilities are endless... Set high goals for success, beat those goals, have fun doing it.

Gold Rush Relics From California Part 5
matt replied to CVISChris's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Damn I look forward to you new posts!!! I used to have permission to hunt an 1850's and prior era site but didn't care about relics only gold nuggets. It was right in the middle of the gold rush area of California. Now, I wish I would have focused on the old stone homestead houses more! There were a bunch of them and there were a couple nobody knew were even there. -
Nice chunk of gold. I think I would put that one on the list to send to the refiner!
