  1. Actually not that kind of shaft, but a longer shaft. I noticed when I detected the beach for the first time, especially with the larger coil, I was totally uncomfortable trying to keep the coil close to the ground while preventing it from picking up the metal in my shoes. The sciatic nerve or lower back pain from detecting in an akward position cut the day short. Does anyone know if the new mid shaft extends this detector any, for us taller users? Thanks.
  2. I feel after all these years since the GB2 has been around, something would surpass it. 71 khz will find the smallest pieces, so going any higher wouldn't make sense. Vlf is Vlf and you can't make it something it's not. I only wish I was into gold detecting when it first came out. I only use it in lode quartz tailings not for placer and would never try. But for finding pieces like the ones in pic I want the GB2 not a 45khz or 40khz or 19khz. Those will still hit on these pieces but they don't hit as strong. That quick Waap Waap noise is the sound I'm looking for and easily distinguishable from hot rocks. Hot rocks usually give a totally different sound, and the ground balance is rarely touched once I get into a spot I rake material in front of me and it never changes unless I was walking and detecting something you don't do on the hillside. The GB2 can't be improved in my opinion.
  3. Ok thanks for the reply. If some error did occur from downloading with AV enabled, is there any user recourse to fix the issues, or factory reset? I don't want to be without the unit as it's working fine as is but definitely want to update it. Thanks!
  4. Hi, sorry if this question has been covered but I couldn't find a clear answer. So I just bought a Nokta Legend and it came with 1.05. If I want to update to the most current software, can I just upload the latest version? Or do I have to go through and download each update version since 1.05? Also I don't own a home computer and the only access I have to one is at the local library. Could this be done using a public computer that may be running Anti-Virus software that has no user control to disable it? Thanks!
  5. I use the Gold Bug 2, and I love everything about it's decades old design, Yes the updated version doesn't impress me, I think their marketing department was trying to keep up with the Gold Monster's sexier appearance that makes new hobbyist think that the gm is something better then it really is. Put a newbee in front of a GB2 and a GM, they will gravitate towards the GM I'm sure. I don't think I would use any vlf for nugget hunting with all the hot rocks. Maybe because I just detect in mostly quartz hard rock tailings I'm not seeing the same problematic issues.
