  1. Wouldn't work in Galveston. The sand is packed, not loose like that sugar sand. The leading edge would dig in and the wet sand would pile up in the mesh. Or it will just bounce along the surface. Doesn't look like much fun.
  2. I was in Galveston over the weekend. Hunted a beach behind the house I was staying at. I used my CTX 3030 and the Nox 600.
  3. Cool little find. A key ring medallion from the Telephone Pioneers of America. "From the very first, the Pioneer symbol was a double triangle around the words “Telephone Pioneers of America,” and, in the center, the Bell system’s traditional bell. Appearing on the bell is number 174,465, the United States patent number given to the Bell’s fundamental principle of the electric speaking telephone. In 1912, two other numbers appeared on the symbol, flanking the lower corner of the bell. The date 1875 commemorates the experiment of June 2, when Bell verified the theory of the electrical transmission of speech; the second date, 1911, the organization of the Telephone Pioneers of America."
  4. Agree. I have located wheat pennies too.
  5. I checked this little used park 5 minutes from my house and was surprised to find silver. I'll have to explore it a little more.
  6. Nice fish. Every September, my brother and I try to hit a different state for trout fishing. The best one so far was Montana, Snake River valley. We will have to start looking into Arkansas.
  7. Nice detector. That's the one I started with. I now have the CTX.
  8. I have a 600 and have switched to single frequency out of curiosity but always just revert back to multi. My CTX is multi all the time so the single frequency is utterly useless to me.
  9. Hunted a old house yard that was built in 1923 and a local park using the CTX 3030.
