  1. Promotion is over and the prices are raised with $100 but still lower than introduction. According to the Nokta website the Legend prices are: MSRP: $ 599 MSRP: $ 699 (WHP) MSRP: $ 799 (PRO) Will this be the price for the carbon fibre version with LG30 coil?
  2. iPad test, works. Windows PC also works. Both in the browser. Is there a forum app?
  3. It's been two months since I've started this thread. In the past months I've read a lot of good info on this great forum! I'm very close to buy one of these detectors. Since then some things have changed. Nokta has released firmware 1.11 for the Legend. Manticore and Equinox 700/900 users have a lot more hours / experience with these machines. "Unfortunately" XP have not released their new software for the Deus 2 yet. If someone was only hunting for (small) jewelry/gold on the salt water beach are the above machines still very close?
  4. What are the chances they will introduce a elliptical coil(s) with the new software? Could this be a reason that it takes this long?
  5. Weight differences between "New" Legend, Equinox 900 and Manticore. (1:44 - 2:35)
  6. According to this video the weights of the new Legend parts are: Old armrest: 101 gram New armrest: 56 gram Old middle Shaft: 104 gram New middle Shaft: 69 gram LG28: 565 gram LG30: 499 gram
  7. Minelab has released quite a few new detectors lately. Manticore, Equinox 700, 900 and recently the X-Terra Pro. What would you like to see in the new Vanquish model (if ever released)? New design? Waterproof? Less weight? Made a concept bellow (not real product).
  8. The results so far.. This forum results: 9": 2 members 11": 4 members 13x11": 8 members Other places where I got/found information: 9": easier to localize object 9": great balance and weight 9": no reason 9": lighter, in water less resistance 9": if weight is most important 9": for long hours and in the water 11": no reason 11": no reason 11": best in between (weight and depth) in comparison with the 9"and 13x11" 13x11": great for large areas If there are more members who want to share their experiences or choice, please do!
  9. If you could only choose one coil, which one would you choose for long hours on the beach and why? The 9", 11" or 13 x 11"? What are your experiences with the weight and balance of these coils in combination with the standard or lite stem?
  10. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think the X-Terra Pro comes with wireless headphones. Can you use third party bluetooth headphones or only Minelab headphones? What we know so far about the prices here (I think it's the same for Europe): Minelab X-Terra Pro (1.30 kg / 2.9 lbs): 329 euro, no headphones, (5, 8 Beach, 10, 15 kHz) Nokta Simplex Ultra (1.18 kg / 2.6 lbs): 399 euro, full carbon with headphones (15 kHz) I couldn't find any prices for the ML85 but the ML80 are 179 euro here. If you only can use Minelab headphones with the X-Terra Pro the price will be 329 + 179 = 508 euro vs 399 euro for the Simplex Ultra. And Nokta could even lower the prices. I'm curious about the official prices.
  11. I personally like conventional earbuds with a stem sitting in the outer ear. One drawback is that they have low isolation from outside noise. Bulb style earbuds:
  12. If detector companies would offer matching earbuds with bluetooth or their own wireless technology, would you buy them? I have created some ideas in Photoshop (not real products!). See bellow.
  13. 0:20 - 2:22 - A closer look at the new Simplex models (in French). I think these are the euro prices: Lite: 259 euro BT: 330 euro Ultra: 399 euro
  14. A couple of weeks ago I saw a YouTube video where a new black antenna wire was shown. I couldn't find any information online so I contacted XP. They told me that the black antenna is already available in their factory and all distributors can order them: - D2-GEN-E0-001 - DEUS II Aerial Antenna with 115cm Cable - D2-GEN-E0-002 - DEUS II Aerial Antenna with 250cm Cable - D2-GEN-E0-003 - DEUS II Aerial Antenna with 65cm Cable I couldn't find this information anywhere here on this forum so I thought I'd share it.
  15. Thanks for sharing your experience with these detectors! Thanks for the tips! I hadn't seen them. Great videos on the beaches with the Legend. Thanks! Thanks for your advice!
  16. This may also be an option now. Thanks! This will definitely help me make a choice! Good suggestion! 3-5% is much lower than I expected, especially when you consider the prices are so far apart between these detectors. If I would choose the Deus 2 I would like to have a larger screen with more information. Thanks for the suggestion! Great info about the display. I can't get any better information than from someone who owns all three detectors. Thanks! I've added the Equinox 700/900 to my list. ---- Thanks for all the info! This really helps me. Now I have another option and that is the new Equinox. If the above detectors only have a small difference in performance it shouldn't be any different with the Equinox 700/900. The prices here are as follow: Legend (WHP) : 600 euro Equinox 700: 900 euro (1.5x) Equinox 900: 1200 euro (2.0x) I read somewhere that the Legend can best be compared to the Equinox 900 instead of the 700. The Equinox is also 0.2 lbs lighter and the collapsed length is 1 inch shorter (correct me if I'm wrong). Unfortunately I don't see many direct comparisons between these models online on the beach (YouTube etc.). I'm going to do some more research. In the meantime, any tips are welcome!
  17. Hi everyone, my first post here! After reading hundreds of posts and watching YouTube videos online for the last 6 months I've decided to choose one of the following detectors: Legend, Deus 2 or the Manticore. I have very little experience in metaldetecting. The only experience I have is 4 months searching on the saltwater beach with a Makro Racer 2 in 2017. Unfortunately I had to stop and now 6 years later ready to start again. My biggest problem is that I can't visit a metal detecting dealer to see and feel the different models. The only place I'm going to metal detect is the saltwater beach looking for coins and jewelry. I don't plan to go in the water (waist, diving). I live about 8 minutes from the beach (by bike) so portability is important to me (backpack and go). These are the configurations I like with their corresponding prices: - Nokta Legend (WHP): 600 euro (nokta offer valid until march 31, 2023 or while supplies last) - XP Deus 2 (WSA2 + RC): 1450 euro - Minelab Manticore: 2000 euro As you can see the Deus 2 is 2.5x times more expensive than the Legend and the Manticore almost 3.5x times. Unfortunately no discounts are possible. If there are no differences between the three models for my situation (searching on the saltwater beach) then I'll look at the other criteria (weight, warranty etc.). If one of the detectors is better but cost 2x to 3x more then that's no problem. So price is not really a problem. Some specs I found online (mainly focused on weight and dimensions): Nokta Legend Weight: 1.4 kg / 3.0 lbs Collapsed Length: 63 cm / 25 inch (with coil?) Warranty: 3 year Headphones: Bluetooth aptX Low Latency XP Deus 2 Weight: - S-Telescopic + Remote + 9" coil = 865 g / 1.9 lbs - S-Telescopic + Remote + 11" coil = 990 g / 2.2 lbs - S-Telescopic lite + Remote + 9" coil = 800 g / 1.8 lbs - S-Telescopic lite + Remote + 11" coil = 925 g / 2.0 lbs Collapsed Length: 58 cm / 22.8 inch and 65 cm / 25.6 inch (equipped with a 9" coil) Warranty: 5 year Headphones: WSA2, WSA2 XL Minelab Manticore Weight: 1.3 kg / 2.9 lb Collapsed Length: 63 cm / 25 inch (with coil?) Warranty: 3 year Headphones: Minelab ML-105 Some positives and negatives: Nokta Legend: + price (much cheaper than the Deus 2 and Manticore) + Bluetooth aptX Low Latency headphones compatibility - weight (heaviest of the three) XP Deus 2: + weight (much lighter than the other three models) + 5 year warranty + choice for a small headphone (WSA2) + backpack 240 perfect fit for deus 2 (portability) - menu learning curve? Manticore: + color screen + navigating menu - only one headphone option Of course there are more pros and cons between these detectors and these can only be answered by people who own these detectors. I really want a high end detector (no vanquish, simplex etc..). Tips and suggestions are welcome!
