  1. I had to turn off my Trend Micro. It seems to hate the login page.
  2. The overall audio dynamics have changed for sure, and in a good way. Audio is much more dynamic and reactive than before. Pwm and high square have a lot to offer to a good listener. I’m personally not going to mess around too much with the audio filter, because I want to hear and understand what the audio is telling me. I’m thinking that perhaps there was a type of set audio filter on the previous versions, which differed from the D1 and is why many of us were keen to note the difference.
  3. Yeah I’m not reading too much into it either. If they didn’t say “free”, new users would question whether or not they’d be charged if they clicked on it. Marketers are darned if they do or darned if they don’t. Either way they don’t care because it’s the support team that has to deal with what they did😀
  4. Yes. The rusty ground scenario is one of the main reasons why I mainly ended up using General as my go to base program. Rusty bits along with coal ash even in fairly dry ground can really affect things.
  5. I was thinking along those lines today. My custom program assortment got simplified with the advent of max frequency choice. The names of my current custom programs I’m tinkering with for land hunting are simply “freqadd, soilsub, vcoadd, vcosub”. I think that frequency addition and soil subtraction have not been given enough thought by many users, but can make a huge difference.
  6. I’m not a coin shooter so it doesn’t make much difference to me about the varying id’s, but it is notable. And thanks F350. That was actually the first shield nickel I’ve ever found.
  7. I just tried a modern nickels and buffs with different max frequencies on only general. The VDI is consistent at 58 (14khz), 60 (24 kHz), and 62 (40 kHz). Haven’t got much further than that yet
  8. I dug a shield nickel yesterday with an in the ground VDI of 58 (at 24khz max) which I thought was pretty low. I’ll definitely test some samples when I get home. Thanks for the info
  9. I did a quick hunt with the new version. I’m quite happy with it so far. Full tones is very reactive and Hi-Square is much more “informative” than the original square. So much to play with
  10. We finally have an update but can’t actually have it. It’s like they put up the grail shaped beacon.
  11. There are some really interesting features to play with such as max frequency. I know what I’ll be doing after work!
  12. I like old posts finding relevance again, and or providing insight to those reading from past to present looking for real answers. I bought the deus 2 on ore-order, and I’d do it again at the good dealer price I got it for ($12xx). I hunt old foundations filled with iron and this machine is able to sniff out the good stuff among it all. You just need to be willing to experiment, observe, and learn. Give any detector those opportunities and you will have success. Give a great detector those opportunities and you’ll never stop being surprised.
  13. Mine is always super tight as well. I was a machinist and am now one of those darned engineer guys and I wonder if the issue is the material and tolerance more than the thread pitch or shape if threads? I’m with you though F350. square threads are a better fit for repeated hand loosening/tightening cycles. The trade off is that they don’t hand tighten to a seal as well though.
  14. It would also be nice to locate it on the Go Terrrain app. 😀
  15. You choose vibration or no vibration in the mi6’s menus system. However the audio will match the audio of the program that you are running on the deus control unit.(either square or pwm). Also you control the mi6 sensitivity via the control unit.
  16. That’s an incredible find. I’ve been searching for a match and haven’t found an exact one, so I’m glad you got a confirmation! Epic display find for sure!
  17. I clipped the band of my bone phones and glued the noisy bits inside a cheap set of shooting muffs I had. One of these days I’ll buy a good setup but this works pretty darn well for the little bit of water detecting I do.
  18. Disc IAR is only available in gold and relic. One thing that helps train the ear with the deus is the XY screen. It for the most part displays what you’re hearing. Not 100% but it can help.
  19. The red plug will allow pressure to build in the control box if it’s out in the hot sun or in a hot car for example. The safe bet is to put the black plug in when you’re done diving, but I’m guessing it would be fine with the red plug all the time as long as you keep it out of the heat.
  20. I’ll definitely try that. Thanks
  21. I experimented that day with various settings and techniques and the 9” always gave a cleaner false than the 11. It’s just something interesting I noticed and wanted to share.
