Thanks Mark, It's a start. Today I hit a different beach on the same lake and found another similar area where the sand had moved out. What use to be knee deep is now waist deep and deeper. Got home in time to sign for the WP headphones I ordered so will be back Tuesday to hit it hard!

Rick This site needs to be turned over by a plow. While talking with 2 of the younger men in the family the other day (5 generation farm) they said that they probably don't even have any plows around anymore!

I have to say that I was pretty much ready to give up land hunting and go water hunting only. Hours and hours with meager finds can get discouraging. Permission is harder to get with land being bought up by non locals. Not like the old days at all. Hopefully the Nox will bring at least a little life back in some of these spots and I'm really looking forward to water hunting this summer. The lakes are heating up fast and tourist season is just around the corner. ?

On my way to the beach today I came up with the idea for a hunt for Fenn's Tom's Treasure. No, you don't have to go there to find the treasure which is the 1895 IH I found the other day, just solve the clues in n the test below and give the location and name of the beach. I was on a mission today to find an old beach hoping it was cherry and longing for a tasting of it's treasure Good luck! ?

I didn't do much better today unless you count 2 junk toe rings.

With my previous detectors, the last few hunts here were anything but productive yielding no more than 2 to 3 non-ferrous targets. Despite a knee high Rye cover crop that I was not expecting, I was able to make a few finds from this heavily worked old home site. It was a quick hunt of only and hour or so due to the cover (I'll be back) but the Nox and I were able to come up with 7 non-ferrous including a 1895 IH penny. The button came up first and only 20' into the field from where I always park. This entire area leading into where the old home sat in the field has been gridded with every detector I have had in the last 12 years. Toward the end of the hunt I head off to the side a bit where numerous IH pennys were found in the past and the Nox did not disappoint. With a full walk around signal bouncing from 17 to as high as 21 depending on angle of approach and centered, out one popped from only 2-3" deep. The Racer 2 did well in this spot and all those finds were shallow as well. IH The 800 handled the iron here exceedingly well. Field 2 Sensitivity 20-21, Auto GB, recovery 5-7 depending on the iron and IB 0-1.

Agreed, yesterday I was using Park 2 at a local swimming hole with 140 years of junk. I had to start ignoring those broad sounding signals that indicate deep targets as they were everywhere. The combination of gain and the higher frequency weighting in Park 2 combined with the 11" coil is too much for that kind of work. However, for deep sand boat party spots it should be a killer combo!

8" on a US dime would work for me.

50 tones is the default setting in Park 2. To change the other modes, using the settings button advance to the target tone icon which is the speaker symbol with the 2 musical notes and select the tones with the plus/minus buttons. Page 46 of the instruction manual. Instruction manual

Believe me, all my local swimming spots will be given a going over again now that I have the Nox. I started hunting them in the early 2000's and made many old ring finds along with the fresh drops. Most are small beaches and they were gridded thoroughly! LOL

I'll be taking the 800 out to a similar type site today, albeit not as old as yours, where non-ferrous finds of any kind have all but dried up. When I first read about the Nox this was the first place I thought of taking it to see if it truly is a game changer. Good or bad, results to follow.

Agreed, it would be a disservice to their customers by not producing a good range of coils. As good as the 11" is in iron I can only dream about what an 8' or 9" coil would do.

I don't know what some consider hard hit but that is a huge amount of non-ferrous targets left to be found . The previous hunters must have been cherry picking. Good job!

First two pics are from previous hunts at a fresh water beach with the ID Edge. Found an area where the sand moved out a bit and made some older finds. The 2 large rings had been in the water quite a while the small one is a newer drop probably from last year all marked 925. and today's very first finds with the Nox. Small Sterling Silver bracelet and the usual stuff. The melted car looks a bit like a Delorean that perhaps did too many time travels and the large metal ball.. I have no idea what that's from. Perhaps a weight from a fishing net?

I tried my friends for a couple hours Friday and didn't have any issues with lag.

More than likely I'll be using the WM 08 module along with my Koss QZ99's for land hunting. Could even tuck the module inside waders for shallow water hunting. I'm gun shy on using the ML wireless phones in the water for fear of them slipping off.

In the house and charging. Apparently the battery was below the cutoff level as it would not turn on as received. Will give it the 4 hours or until the lights stop blinking. I plan on trying it with my Koss phones connected to the WM08 for the first run.

Congrats on the Nox. Getting mine today as well. 2 months and 3 weeks... a long wait but better than some. Getting to use my buddies did help take some of the pain out of the waiting.

Well done on the find, that is an amazing piece of history. I know the buzz that a find of that age gives as I once found an awl from the Great Lakes copper culture period.
