All of them! Every new release comeswith a DD coil stock. Do they think we all have hot ground? What's the advantage for me... not a darn thing! Notka/Makro and Minelab both have new waterproof detectors that are seemingly made for me and what do I have to use but another dang DD coil. Blasphemy I say. Give me a 9" concentric PLEASE! Head to the iron infested home site followed by a trip to the old fairgrounds that was dug up and landscaped for soccer and ball fields. A true depth test that will be.

Small neighborhood baseball fields. The ones that have been around since Hector was a pup and even if they are seldom used anymore. Be prepared to dig lots of foil. Fresh water, from the waters edge where mothers play with their babies out to the dropoff. Wish I had taken up scuba diving in my younger years as I can only imagine the rings out of my reach. Tom

I enjoy Youtube vids from regular forum posters but seldom if ever watch these types of promo vids ^ Hoover boys is about the only exception and that's mainly because I can appreciate the excitement they feel making finds. I think I did own a Garret once. LOL

Exactly, It's amazing the tiny targets something like the F75 at 14kHz can find using the small football concentric coil.

I need to review that test again to see what the sensitivity level was set at. Ok sens 70 and in 3 tone(fast) perhaps 2 tone would have more gain/sensitivity to chains?

The apparent lack of sensitivity to the gold chain in 19 kHz shown in Shelton's review of the Multi Kruzer is disappointing. However I may get the 14 kHz for general land and water use. Never hurts to have 2 waterproof machines just in case.. Nox and Kruzer. Tom

To see if it can dissect my iron sites and put more relics/coins in the pouch. Fresh water sensitivity to gold chains and better TID depth on old losses beyond the depth capability of what I have been using. My local swimming holes date back over a hundred years and while I have made finds from those early periods I know there is more out there to be found. Having the opportunity and challenge of learning what this new tech has to offer and how to get the best out of it. Sounds like it may be a great ride.

Chase thanks for the link, I have been away all day and have not yet caught up with forum posts. This forum is very active and in a good way. Since I have the X-Terra 705 I'm well aware of the advantages and pitfalls that Steve points out when using GB tracking. From what Steve confirmed in his post and what I know of ML's expertise I have no doubt they have this covered. Tom

I have been under the impression that modern Ground tracking has a feature that inhibits it from tracking to legitimate targets. Dave J. said in the engineering report on the MXT that it has that feature. Perhaps not all manufacturers follow that philosophy. Tom

I agree, iron bias at minimum with correct recovery speed should be the better unmasker. I don't do the tests, what it does in my iron sites is what matters. Tom

According to the Manual the iron bias affects TID readings, but it doesn't mention whether or not it has any effect on the audio characteristics of the TID observed. My first thought was that the effects on TID readings using iron bias were divorced from the audio characteristics. Then I read this: Sounds to me like a multi stage filtering similar to the Fisher 1236 X2 iron silencer, If so setting it to zero will be the only option for dissecting iron. Comments? Tom

Dean Knowing Steve the first thing he did was crank sensitivity to max. He likes em sparky! LOL

My take is that if you don't need the prospecting modes the 600 as Steve has repeatedly pointed is a screaming deal. Prospecting mode per the manual uses a more standard type threshold for enhanced ability to hear small targets in bad ground.

I agree, while I could get along well with the tones (pitch) as set on the 600, not having the ability to adjust the tone break points would be a downer for me. At the least they should be adjustable up to the 5 tone setting. Best to leave the 50 tones options off the table for the 600.

I hope the other testers do step forward with more of their thoughts on the Equinox. Poor ole Steve's fingers must be getting wore out by now . LOL I have a gut feeling that ML is on track and that the initial shipments are being prepared. No slow boats either, container ships are for washers and dryers not electronics where air freight is cost effective.

This is what I have been waiting for in my 2 bar low 80's (magnetite) soil. Oversize coils can help a bit but very frequently stock and even smaller coils are the way to go for accurate ID at depth.

Well here's hoping it passes with good results. DD coils usually do pretty good on this test.
