  1. ...I continue with the 11 inch coil. I don't use a pinpointer, in the water it's complicated, and I measure the depth in Scoops. The 4 and 5 stroke hunts are back, with the original coil I rarely reached 4. The amount of information the audio gives me has also improved. That 'junk' bracelet gave a long, ugly tone, but I knew it was a wire or an elongated piece of some craft. Awesome! I can also increase the sensitivity a couple notches higher and I'm testing the recovery speed at 3. Values that I simply couldn't run before. The quality of the old Nox coil is still there. On the other hand, it becomes somewhat heavier. And the "electric tip" of the oval coil is a little lost. This is how the last silver rings have been once cleaned... 😎
  2. Here in Europe they have been advertising the launch since March. Summer has passed and there is no availability. Some distributors announce it for September and have already opened the 'pre-order' period (which they soon learned)... I'm opting for the Xt Pro. I haven't tried the new Simplex. On the beach it is a real killer.
  3. I'm the same, waiting for real test. Yes, it seems interesting... back in the day I had one of the first X5 (8kHz) and the truth is, it gave me a lot of satisfaction on the beach... I follow in the footsteps of the prototype that was going to be called Q80 with "simultiQ", now V80 with "hyperQ". Too bad about the videos on YouTube, they are not the most accurate... Reaching 80kHz and the built-in gyroscope seem like an advance to me. The mechanics look impressive! I think the audio could be improved. We will have to wait.
  4. Not each mode has its peculiarities. You can make small changes, nothing more. Don't worry about the iron bias...there isn't any. Start with the preset settings, adjust the ground balance and start in two tones. Take your time learning their language and get everything that sounds interesting. It's the only way to learn... And don't forget to download the manual from the web, you will need it. Congratulations on your choice, you're going to have fun. ...Another small 18k earring came out. It weighs 1.30 gr. and I found it in dry sand! Park 2 -15kHz- is perfect for small pieces. 😀
  5. The Xt Pro arrived as a return sign of a Manticore booked last Christmas. The idea of using it as a replacement for my old Nox, the possibility of use the coils and headphones I already had; and the IP68 certification did the rest. Obviously the price was also a great ally. And since the day I tried it, the Nox has gone out for a walk a couple of times, no more. Why?... For me, over the years and taking into account that I only use it on the beach, there are two types of detectors: The hot ones and the ones that aren't. I don't go into Single Frequency, Multiple, high or low weighting of this, posibility of GB,iron bias or recovery speed. There are machines that love Gold and others that don't even smell it... If you like water, you will end up hunting by ear. And false objectives will be your headache. In that last detail the Xt Pro stands out even above the Nox! Both the processor (faster) and the Audio (dP) are one step above the old Nox. It is a clear heir to the new generation of 700-900's. It's not a Nox, but it's a tremendously hot machine, that's fine with me. Today, it's half Nox. I've been using the 11' coill for some time... VDI identification is poor to very poor. Normal in an SF after 6 inches. The backlit keyboard and the vibration function are a success. And the possibility of submerging it 5 meters opens a new field of search. Looking at the price of the new Manticora coils, I think it is one of the best investments of the moment. 😉 No, I don't have a Vanquish. But I've used both a 340 and a 540. If I don't have one it's for the 'Threshold'. It won't be detected without the buzzing in the my ears...
  6. I think there is a lot of marketing and that Minelab have to sell... With 'obsolete' they have succeeded. I love the Vanquish, honestly I don't see a successor for it, it's and will be an incredible entrance detector. Multi IQ works. I'm a Beach Hunter, I hunt by ear, for me the ID is secondary. And Xt Pro works perfectly. I got a Nox 800 too. I also like the GPX 5000...
  7. Ummmhhh forums, always the same story. Comment without knowing the product. That has come out this month of August with the X Terra Pro. Yes it's SF, but obsolete?...
  8. ...Fourth visit to the same beach, this time with the Nox 11' coil. Wading from one cape to the other with water up to my chest. Three hours... And finally a wedding band came out. Marked '750'. I think this coil gives it a little bit more depth. Numerical identification is still a party, maybe something more stable... This machine loves Gold, just like me. In total about 12 hours in the water in four days. I'm exhausted...And so happy. 😎
  9. Guau!!!! I've been looking for something like this for years, congratulations. I only have two pieces with that caratage. According to my trusted jeweler, very common in Central Europe as a result of the Second World War... That in the scoop would look like a snake, what a joy. 😁
  10. ...I couldn't leave that beach without finding some more Gold. In the past that beach has been a real mine!. There are a couple of glory holes and I'm very stubborn. I'm late for work yes or yes...At 5:15 am I am in the water. You can't see much, it's not like the first day. Few targets... I only needed one end of the cape where I couldn't detect because of the waves last time. A 64 ID and a thin Silver ring appears, a recently dropped Euro and on the shore waiting for a precious 23-24 ID. Loud, clear and Bang!!!! Gold Ring. Marked 18k. It's after 09:00h., I'm late again... 😎
  11. Hi Maximus, I use the 'tracking ON' on most of my dives. Also when wading and surfing on the beach. It is a great success with the changing salinity. On the beach it is one of a kind!
  12. I don't know of a single beach that is uniform throughout. It will have more mineralized patches, others infested with iron and some with more or less black sand... Why use a single configuration? I don't understand. I start in a basic configuration and I am modifying it to my liking. On the beach I usually use All Metal and I spent a couple of years in 2 tones and without using the threshold much. Nowadays, there are times when I have the horseshoe in Off and when I hear the humbral cut plus a low and broken tone; works the same for me. If it is also deep, better... Any detector upon reaching its depth limit will give you ferrous tones. And it's not always a nail. Currently I use All Metal and Beach 1 or 2 if I get in the water. In dry Sand Park 2 and once Gold 1. I left the two tones behind and run in 5 or dP on the X-Terra Pro. Depends. Not all are "round signs", there are also broken rings, earrings, small chains... You have to go out more and think less, the Equinox loves Gold. That ring sounded like ass...
  13. This morning I have returned to the same cove that I cleaned yesterday. The wind has shifted to the west, depositing a layer of new sand of at least 60cm. After an hour diving and nothing coming out, I have left the fins and I have decided to ford the cape that was sheltered from the waves. Some old coins and Bang!... Another Gold earring. Marked 585. We continue for the Two Ounces!... 😎
  14. The time has come to pick up everything that tourists have forgotten on the beach... Lately I am using BEACH 1 even for diving. It is somewhat more stable and allows me to raise the sensitivity a bit. I am working between 15 and 18. 😎
  15. I'm a beach hunter. In the water less is more. I usually remove the protector, it's incredible what it weighs with sand included... I use fluorescent yellow 3M tape. How long does it last? Depends on the waves. This is how the Xt Pro coil has been after the last hunt...
  16. Congratulations! Beautiful piece. That's the fun of this, you never know what hottie you're going to get...😉
  17. With that policy they are losing sales. My case is a clear example. The cue for the Manticore happened to be an X Terra Pro (I handed over the money from the reserve with the famous announcement from last Christmas and in February I got tired of waiting). And I doubt I'd buy one. Just seeing the results makes me think very, very much... There is a thread on the Xterra forum asking about the coils... They are not there and they are not expected. What a mess. In the end I'll stick with my old Nox and the backup Xterra Pro. Thinking of giving myself a Deus 2 or maybe a Quest V80 this coming Christmas. Another loyal customer they lose, they'll know.
  18. Congratulations! That ring is like three wedding bands... they weigh less every day. 😉 So happy for you, that 'Clonk, clonk' of a nice heavy ring on the scoop is awesome for a beach hunter. Gold is elusive this year, yes. Waiting for a good storm, we have not moved the air for a month. What a heat...
  19. How is that 700 going on the beach? Do you have more hours? Tell us a little...
  20. This morning I took advantage of the low tide and some dry sand (I don't go through it very much). A couple of Euros have come out at a good depth, it marks them as a ferrous signal accompanied by a sharp tone (5 tones). It doesn't even mark ID, but it 'shows' you that it's down there. This toy is really sensitive... All the jewelry is junk except for a Silver ring. With what it cost me to get the golden junk earring!...😄
  21. Hi, I'm using the screen protectors that came with the Equinox 800. Those that came in Chinese, Arabic...If you cut off the end, they fit perfectly. You will see it well in the photo.
  22. I have made a count of the Gold found. There have been 12 pieces. 2 medals, 1 earring and 9 rings (7 of them wedding bands). All in the water and on the shore except for one medal found in dry sand. 37.88 grams today. For now the most heavy piece, a man's ring, 6.76 gr. All the pieces are 18k except three that are 14k. As I already imagined summer is going to be fun. I'm going for 25 pieces! And this year I expect to finish above 2 ounces...😉
  23. Hi, here I leave you the last two hunts. A Gold earring came out in the first and a 'curious' Silver ring in the second... The Xt Pro will already have been submerged in salt water for about 50 hours and like the first day. 😎
  24. Tungsten rings...another classic!! 😁 This morning I went wading first thing in the morning. Yesterday was Sunday and the beach was full of donating tourists... The currency here does have value. And more than €2 coin!. A Hotwheels came out! 😄 And a couple of silver rings, a silver earring too and Bang!... A Gold earring '750', 18k. 1,4 grams. Here in Spain it is usual 14-18k. Very rare 9-10 and usually tourists from northern Europe where it is more common. Those of us from the South are like that!... It sounded bad and ugly, but in the water, it does sound; I dig it! The big circule Silver earring and Gold 'open' earrings are more difficult, they are second grade!. 🤣 Good sound and the audio cuts out, you have to swing slowly and listen well... 😎
  25. ...and how good they sound! I'm always wrong about 'big Silver piece'. If they were Gold we would be millionaires!!!. Here in Europe, in the tourist beach areas, what has been noticed is a significant decrease of coins. Nobody takes money to the beach now... The same thing happens with jewelry, now everything is stainless steel. What a rage when it shines in the scoop. And then comes the magnet test at home... A disaster. Still, from time to time, Bang!... Gold!. 😎
