The lower the frequency the higher the battery consumption. 

I had been modifying my clips with springs for the past few years but eventually the plastic piece in the center will break just like the plastic spring does. I took the advice from someone on the forum here and used an exacto knife to cut a small bevel on the coil cover where the charging clip slides on and now I no longer have to open the clip extra far in order the slip the clip past the little ridge on the cover. This makes the soooo much easier to slip the clip onto the coil for charging. JMTCW

It's the Simplex carbon fiber lower rod that works on the D2. You don't have to machine special bushings to make it work.  It does have to be sanded some on the lower clevis part of the rod so you can tilt the coil to your liking but very simple to do.  I'm very happy with the mod on my D2.

I used an Eagle II SL 90.5 for years. Had mine mounted to a White's hip mount kit. At the time it was the top detector available (was a White's dealer back then 😁) My hunting partner got a new (back Then) Minelab Sovereign and that darn thing would go about 1" deeper than my eagle. He started smokin' me after that. Some of my best finds came using the Eagle II. The Eagle with a BigFoot coil would smoke that Minelab when it came to coin and jewelry count. You have lots of good detecting ahead!

I bought an Arrow for use on my White's DFX. I sold my BigFoot coils while they still demanded a high ($500) price. The Arrow's performance equals the BigFoot as far as depth and separation but it is about 6 oz heavier that the Bigfoot. The Arrow is great for searching large areas like parks and ball fields, and also WWII military bases where targets are shallow but few and far between. Due to the 18" length, they are real coin and jewelry vacuums. Super quick pin pointing also. 

Sold my Nox 800 but kept the Multi Kruzer. I also have a Deus & Deus II. I keep the Kruzer because I have a 5" coil and a 3.5"x6" coil for it. Sure wish XP had a coil smaller than 9" for the Deus II.

Nugget hunting the really small stuff. But my Deus II beat my Nox 800 everywhere else. For the type of sites I generally hunt. 🙂

I wonder how the ORX or Deus would compare to the Deus II in Mono if they were fitted with the 5X9" HF Elliptical running at 74 kHz. I guess I'll have to try it, although I no longer have an ORX but I do have the Deus and the Elip. HF coil. 

I've done about everything I can to help increase your Business by purchasing the Racer x 2,  Racer 2 x2, Impact, Multi Kruzer x 2. You see I'm not the sharpest tack in the box. Buy, sell, sellers remorse, buy again, etc. Then there's the product testing I've done for Makro. Great Products and Great Value. I'm very happy with your success. The new facility looks outstanding! The Arrow does exactly what it was designed to do. It covers massive amounts of ground with each pass. Yes, it's depth is only 4 to 5 inches on small dime sized targets but at 18" long that's about the equivalent amount of soil to a 9" coil going 8 - 10" deep on each pass. If you're looking to cover large areas for recent drops, it does a great job. I wish it was a little lighter weight as it is noticeably heaver than a BigFoot coil but performance wise, it is equal to the BigFoot. I sold my last 3 BigFoot coils for $500 each and purchased the Arrow for a little less than $200 so I'm very happy with my purchase for my DFX. 

You want light, then an XP ORX might do the job.

Its funny how different detector are popular based on location. When I lived near Dallas Texas 20 years ago there were lots of Troy and Garretts used but of course that's Garrett's home turf.  In So. Cal. it was mostly Fisher, and White's in the 80's & 90's. Of course back then there wasn't Xp, Minelab, or Makro/Nokta. I was a White's dealer in the 80's - 90's but I also sold other brands but White's were by far my biggest seller. Being in so. Cal, I belonged to about five different clubs back then. I sold a number of Tesoro's, and Compass also but Troy, Nautilus, and Teknetics were just about unheard of there. 

I'm thinking forum counts don't mean squat. Garrett probably sells more detectors than any other? The folks that buy the best performing and most expensive detectors are always looking to improve and visit the forums seeking answers. The Garrett folks for the most part just buy the detector and use it occasionally or set it in the closet. JMHO ( the only one that counts)

Just drill a small 1/8" hole in the top of the rod near the controller clip to let the air escape.. 

I'll bet the cost for just the two box coils is more than a what a complete White's or Fisher 2 box unit used to cost. Even figuring in for Biden inflation economics.

XP would probably sell twenty 6" or 5x9" elliptical coils for every one of these sold. Hell, maybe 50 or more small coils to each two box unit. 

We don't need no stinkin' two box! We need a 5X10 Elliptical or 5-6" round! JMHO ( the only one that counts)😁

 I don't know if you remember but I bought a White's Dual Field from you that had additional shielding for hunting in Hawaii. It found me a few pieces of gold. Been using the Deus ll for most of my detecting nowadays. I'll keep an eye out for you on the Hoffman show. Maybe I can catch the Freddy show I missed.

Of course the perfect detector could be ridden into remote areas and they would be easily converted into a tent, sleeping bag, and stove. Better yet, a class A motorhome with stocked bar. 🙂 

Thanks Chase - There's always been detectors that were better than another at one thing or another but the reverse is usually true also. I sure wouldn't trade the Deus II for a Legend because of coil choice and value is somewhat subjective. Less money but heavier is a deal breaker for some I'm sure. 

I'm still waiting (after 47 years) for that one detector that does it all perfectly. I'll probably croak with the detectors I currently have.

Waiting to hear about these competitors and how they are better than the Deus II. Must be some testers out there that are being silent about these new detectors. I can't wait to see them get released!
