I tried the Vanquish 540 and wasn't thrilled. I think the Simplex+ offers a lot for the money but was another that had a few Idiosyncrasies I didn't care for. Yes, the Equinox and the Deus/ORX detectors are more expensive but well worth the extra. I think the Nox 800 is actually the better deal over the 600. Wireless headphones, Wireless module, and the added features are worth the extra bucks IMHO and you'll recoup the added expense when it comes time to sell it. Speaking from experience, the only issue with the ORX is that I liked it so well, I just had to get the Deus also.

Great Hunt! I love tokens. I'd rather find tokens than coins most always. The Jug is a beauty also.

What I'm looking forward too with the 6000 is that it will help you from throwing out you silverware. I don't know about the rest of you but I try to pack light, and if I throw away my silverware after lunch in the bush, I have to eat dinner with my fingers. Good on you ML.

The Minelab Pro Find 35 is a great Pin pointer. The XP Mi6 Has even better features but if not paired to the Deus or ORX then you lose some of it's advantages. I've been using the Garretts and White's TRX for years and the Original Garrett Pro pointer II would be a good choice as a loaner for a reasonable price.

I did the same here. I liked the ORX so much that I had to get the Deus also. I'll probably sell the ORX at some point.

I used to fill the lower rod with lead fishing weights. The egg sinkers about 3/4 oz. then then pour melted parafin wax to keep the sinkers from moving around. You can slide about 8 - 10" wooden dowel in first, then sinkers, then wax. When you want, just warm up the lower rod and pour it all out. Cheap and no extra resistance in the water.

Both the Kruzer and the Multi Kruzer use the same coils.

I wouldn't hunt inland without a pin pointer but I've never needed one on the beach. Scoop, shake, retrieve target, move on the the next. I get a kick out of folks using a pin pointer in seeded competition hunts. If you need a pin pointer in a competition hunt, You're taking Waaaaay too long to retrieve the target. Rookie mistake. IMHO.

Personally I like the black Pro Pointer. The Red Xp Mi6, and Yellow Minelab Pro Find 35 both look like hell after the first time out as the dirt really shows on them.

I just stick mine in my pouch. I added a micro mercury switch to my garrett Pro Pointer so I only have to turn it On /Off once a day. Turn it on with the button, put the heavy end in the pouch, pull it out and turn it point down and it turns on automatically. Put it back in the pouch point up and it turns itself off. This really extends battery and switch life. My other pin pointers are a Minelab Pro Find 35 that starts beeping if you forget it and my XP Mi6 that the detector can turn on an beeping alert on the pin pointer up to about 75 feet away if you misplace it. SHort answer is that there is only one slot for the user to save a program. If you want to save a second program, you will have to save it over the previous saved program.

Well, They said they were working on five new projects. This series is probably four of the five. I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess number five will be a detector that can find and trace those tongue studs that people swallow as they pass through the GI tract.

Will somebody please send us some cooler weather down here in Arizona? It's just too darn hot to detect and the ground is super dry. The good news is that it cools off to the low 90's at night. Check my thermometer lower left while I was out this afternoon.

That's an outstanding find! All the one's I have found don't look nearly as nice. Mine all look like U.S. Quarters. 🙄

Yes, It was all over the news over a month ago.

Limited features and adjustments is the reason we have the ORX otherwise we'd only have the Deus. Same with Simplex+ and Vanquish series. Still, I love my ORX, but push come to shove, The Nox 800 is still my best "All Around" detector. IMHO, Keeping the ORX over the Nox for ring hunting is a huge mistake.
