That sounds like emi. When that happens and you can't get rid of it, switch to single frequency and the noise will probably go away. Runs great in single frequency too.

I'm not saying anything against the performance of the Legend. I like it. The Legend 11" coil is to heavy for me. Just a comparison, the Equinox 11" coil is much lighter. The Legend 6" coil is a little heavy for it's size. Again for comparison, the Equinox 6" coil is very light. I'm waiting for the 5x9.5 coil and hope it's a nice light coil like the Kruzer coil. That would be my main coil. I'm looking forward to it. I would like the coil to be white like the Gold Kruzer.

1st Time To Start My Charging The Legend

It has a bright screen for a second and then goes dark. In the upper left hand corner you see a small picture of it charging. -

I charge mine with it off. -
The Orx is killing it on the jewelry. Nice finds. School yard finds?

Thanks, I didn't see that. -

Bat Mobile Toy Car From 1969

Cool find! -
It looks like Stability will help with any iron falsing from a low Iron filter setting. Were going to have find a balance between Iron filter and Stability depending on where we are hunting.
-
That's what I will use it in relic hunts too. 2 tone with Pitch in Field mode. I will like Audio gain maxed too. This update is going to change everything on the Legend making it so much better. Really looking forward to the update and extra coils.

Detecting In Fresh Water Lake?
Rick N. MI replied to Alberto Montano's topic in Nokta / Makro Metal Detectors
I forgot to say I like recovery at 3. If there is a lot of iron raise it up some. With the coming update there will be more settings. It goes very deep on gold jewelry. You'll enjoy it. -
Detecting In Fresh Water Lake?
Rick N. MI replied to Alberto Montano's topic in Nokta / Makro Metal Detectors
I would set sensitivity max if the ground is mild. I use 2 tone w/ tone break at 5. Set tone break at 11 if you don't want to dig foil. I use "A" disc pattern with Park or Field. Set iron tone low. I'm not sure which is more sensitive to gold, Park or Field. Try Gold mode too. You need to use the headphone adapter if you are going deeper. -
With iron bias at 1, you will hear more iron using Disc pattern A. I'm not sure how stability works yet. The Legend will be changed and work even better. I'm looking forward to the update and extra coils.

Xp Orx Or Equinox 800
Rick N. MI replied to John4455321's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
Having both the Equinox and Xp Orx is a good combination. The Orx w/9" hf coil excels in iron. I wouldn't trade an Equinox 800 for an Orx unless it's past it's 3 year warranty. If I could only have one, I would take the Orx. So darn light, depth great in mild ground and so good in separation. -
Great job on the tools Kac.

Great hunt. Cool finds. No brothel tokens yet?
-
Great camping trip. Nice to get out like that. Cool medals.
-
Sounds like a good coil. I wonder why it's solid.
-
Now I'm impressed with the 6" coil. Kac, I'm glad I kept it. Thanks for talking me into keeping it. I just ordered a 6" coil for my Equinox 800. I had one for quite while and sold it and now getting it back. I will be comparing them. If it's like the 11" coils that are pretty equal, the 6" coils will be about the same.

The Legend does like the coil raised about an 1" swinging it. I have test dime at 11" and with the coil close to ground swinging, no hit. Raise the coil up, and it slams it. On that dime I noticed that my Equinox 800 also likes the coil raised up. It gets a better hit. I didn't try single frequency. Maybe it smf thing. I don't know. I saw a Calabash video showing this with the Legend.
