Yes Kac, I'm looking forward to Garret's mf waterproof detector. It could be great. Especially if they can keep it light like the Apex.
-
Garrett also has all of White's patents which has future ideas and designs. This could put it ahead of what White's detectors were. So why go to the past when you can go to the future. I'm not saying White's detectors from the past are not great detectors. Just saying Garrett has the the opportunity make them better. As we all know engineering can take a very long, long time.

New Coil For Ftp
Rick N. MI replied to ☠Cipher's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
I want to see a comparison of the new 12"dd and Nel's Superfly on a T2se. -
Darn. I got one in a lake this summer I thought was good and turned out to be plated. It's weird seeing that IH cut in half. I wonder how it was cut so perfect. Still a neat find.

New Coil For Ftp
Rick N. MI replied to ☠Cipher's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
It's a rare 12" coil. Good to hear that it does work very well in the water. I hope there is a detector coming for it for water hunting. -
New Coil For Ftp
Rick N. MI replied to ☠Cipher's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
That coil is horrible in the water. It didn't need those fins on it. Is there a reason the middle of the coil is raised up like that? It was a terrible design. Look at the new coil nice and smooth with no fins. Why mention that the new coil will sweep thru the water nice? Unless a waterproof detector is coming out for it. Who wants to take there T2/F75 in the water? Still I look forward to seeing more videos on the new coil. I want one for my T2se. Who knows, maybe the coil will sell more First Texas detectors. -
New Coil For Ftp
Rick N. MI replied to ☠Cipher's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
I wonder why the shaft isn't centered on the coil. Being light it's probably ok. To bad there isn't a waterproof detector to go with the coil. I'll be getting it for my T2se. -
That would be really great if someone made detector shafts like that. I could image how much smoother the sweeping in water would be. I sent drawing to Dilek to see if Nokta/Makro would make shafts like that. She said she would give it to her engineers. That was quite awhile ago. I don't think it will happen.

Out Detecting For 4 Hours Today
Rick N. MI replied to Rick N. MI's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Unfortunately I don't get much of that early stuff in northern MI. It's just not old enough here. I've found 1 LC, 1 seated dime and 1 seated quarter. All the rest of my finds are Barbers, Mercs, not many newer silver's, V nickels, Buffalo's, IH's and wheats. Not much of the old stuff. It's just the way it is. Also hard to find new areas. I am surrounded by the beautiful Great Lakes. I live 15 min from Lake Michigan. 45 mins to Lake Huron. -

Out Detecting For 4 Hours Today
Rick N. MI replied to Rick N. MI's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
I'm in northern Michigan and it was hot for me. It was 85. The next 2 days will be 90. It's also very humid. After awhile I was looking for shade to hunt under it. If I was alone I would have left earlier because of the heat lol. I can't imagine living out west. It's unfortunate the drought there going through and loosing a lot of water. A lot of wells drying up. I don't know what's going to happen. I'm very fortunate with lots of water. I'm surrounded by the Great Lakes and inland lakes. Israel has invented a device that's called Watergen. It pulls water out of the air in a desert. Maybe that could help the West. -

Soaked it in hydrogen peroxide for about an hour to get the date. -
I got a 1916 wheat. My buddy got a silver ring, 1939 wheat, 1964 silver dime, 1905 V nickel. He beat me but I got the oldest wheat lol. Was out in the large field again. The 1916 wheat. I have no photos of my buddies finds.

Deus Or Orx For General Coin & Jewelry Hunting?
Rick N. MI replied to TexHunter's topic in XP Metal Detectors
For me the Equinox w/ 11" coil starts feeling heavy after 3 hours hunting. I wish it had a light 8" round coil. -
Deus Or Orx For General Coin & Jewelry Hunting?
Rick N. MI replied to TexHunter's topic in XP Metal Detectors
Tex, with the Orx I don't hunt general coin/jewelry parks, schools or ball fields. I use it in lakes and relic/old coin hunting so I don't know how well it will work those areas. The plus with the Deus is it has notching and Orx does not. The Orx had 3 tones which could be useful in those areas. -
Deus Or Orx For General Coin & Jewelry Hunting?
Rick N. MI replied to TexHunter's topic in XP Metal Detectors
The only thing is the Deus/Orx are so light making it so much easier to detector. I was out the other day for 3 hours with the Equinox 800 w/ 11" coil and it was starting to get heavy. Even with Steve's carbon fiber shaft. I'm thinking of going the other way and selling or trading my Equinox w/ 11" & 6" coils and using my Orx w/ 9" hf coil, T2se w/ Nel Sharpshooter coil and just bought a use Vista X w/ 3 coils.
