  1. Tiny gold/micro gold like gold earrings & fine gold chains are in the foil range. Most all gold rings and larger jewelry are above foil. When hunting on land Mike Hillis recommended hunting an area for gold rings first. Then if you get a gold ring then go thru hunting for micro jewelry. The Gold Kruzer was nice in Micro mode that it had a disc and a tone break. The Orx is a very capable coin & jewelry hunter. When I hunted in the lakes with mine I used deep mode and would dig everything from foil up. I used the 9" hf coil, 28.8 khz, sensitivity 96, recovery 2, disc 7 & iron tone off. It was nice water hunting that I could use the wireless headphones.
  2. It weighs 880 grams. It would be very tiring. Quite awhile ago they were going to make a lighter one but there isn't one yet. I saw a post saying it goes very deep. I didn't get one because of the weight. Even for water hunting seems to heavy.
  3. I watched a video to see if I was doing it right and I was. This is the process I did. Configuration Programs Coils Select - select slot Enter Serial Number Validate Should work and it isn't. I think I need to pack it all up and send it back. I don't see that I'm doing anything wrong.
  4. They are both fully charged and was like you said. I hope it can get connected otherwise I have send it back to the dealer. Thank you for your help, Rick
  5. The number is 2312CC. I looked at with a magnifier to make sure I was right.
  6. The battery for the coil is fully charged. I entered the coil number that's on top of the coil in slot 1. I validated it and no connection on the controller. No frequencies. I went thru the process several times and no connection. Any help with this? Thanks, Rick
  7. Very smooth running detector. You can listen for those whispers.
  8. That is surprising it came in at -5. Must be because of the salty sand beach. I don't see that on test rings buried deep on a fresh water beach.
  9. He was in front of an elementary and he thinks it's a military button. I told him it's a coat button and he wanted me to post it for him to see. The back is gone on the button. The big field is behind the elementary.
  10. Thanks Monte. I was using the Equinox 800 w/ 11" coil. Sensitivity 20, 2 tone, tone break at 9, Recovery 4, iron bias 4. Also using Steve's carbon fiber shaft. Sorry about that. I like to know the detector and setting too on posts.
  11. The first turtle had a part of a string thru the hole. The 2nd turtle is 1/4" long. They are small.
  12. I found what the small turtle is. It's a Miniature doll house 1 inch 12 scale pet turtle. Cost $19.49 new.
  13. Went there with my buddy. I've found a few Indians Heads and Buffalo's there in the past. Didn't show my junk. This is probably junk to but I like it. The small turtle is about 1/4" long.
  14. I'm not finding anything in the lakes. 2 days ago a copper plated ring. It looked good at first. Your right though. It is nice getting out in the water and great exercise. I had planned to go out this morning and I didn't go. I wish I had now.
  15. It's a cool find. I like it. No writing on it? It looks like it's for kids. An old Cracker Jack toy?
  16. I agree the Equinox in multi frequency is a noisy detector when you sweep it. I like the Equinox but I really like quiet detectors. The only way to take care of this is lower sensitivity, increase iron mask or go to single frequency. I don't know which one is best. I would say iron mask is worst because of masking. So lower sensitivity in multi frequency or high sensitivity in single frequency. Again I don't which is best. I haven't tested it.
  17. I thought about the Excalibur. I used to water hunt with a sovereign. It would put it in a small backpack and get out to chest deep. Now that I have the Equionx, Anfibio and Gold Kruzer I don't need the Excal. The deeper you get the easier it is to sweep thru the water.
