  1. And what are the 2 detectors. 24k/GMX & Gold Monster?
  2. I detected in a downtown park and the police had no problem with me detecting there but the maintenance person had a problem. I told him I had dug over one hundred coins and no damage to the lawn but he didn't care and kicked me out. No signs up in the small park. Found my first and only Morgan dollar there.
  3. I like the shape of the coils. They would go good thru water. I look forward to what Garrett comes up with on the new waterproof detectors.
  4. I like the Tejon, it goes deep and it hits good on iron relics including smaller iron relics like old small locks etc. Most new detectors aren't very good for iron relics if like hunting for them. I didn't notice any up averaging or iron wrap around. There is a lot of telling in the analog circuit that tells you if that beep is good or not. There isn't any falsing either. You just get some crackles and pops in iron trash. I wish I still had my Tejon.
  5. Great finds. I wonder why all those jugs got thrown away.
  6. Kac, the Gold Kruzer at the beach in all metal mode the threshold was stable with sensitivity 99. I forgot to test it in deep mode. Using the 4x7.5 coil it could hear the ring but was a very quiet tone. Deep mode would have helped.
  7. The 6" coil has impressive depth. That's great the Gmx hits it too. Gold detectors are great for jewelry hunters too.
  8. I used the: Equinox 800 w/ 6" coil Park 2, Sensitivity 23, 2 tone, Iron Bias f2 0, Recovery 4 Xp Orx w/ 9" hf coil, 4 tone, Sensitivity 96, recovery 2 Gold Kruzer 4x7.5 coil, Deep mode, Sensitivity 80 I wanted to see how well these detectors did in no emi area at a low mineral sandy beach with a 0.89 gram 14k gold ring buried at a measured 9". I was very impressed with the results. The Equinox 800 w/ 6" coil and the XP Opx w/ 9" hf coil hit all the way around with the coil lifted 3"-4". The Gold Kruzer w/ 4x7.5 coil hit it one way w/ coil raised 2"-3". The other was a weak signal harder to get. I was happy with that. I didn't bring the 5x9.5 coil. I'm sure it would have done better. Over all I was happy with the results. The Equinox 800 w/ 6" coil did really good. Equal with the Xp Orx w/ 9" hf coil. The Xp Orx hit the ring very well at 31 khz and 54 khz.
  9. My English Setter shredded the dash in my car while I was out of it. I didn't mad either. lol I looked at it as my fault for leaving him alone in the car. No more car rides for him after that. Sorry. No picture. I'll post a picture of him tomorrow.
  10. The sand bar sounds like probably a party spot with boaters. Kac, my ground is mild, gb 80, mineral 1 bar sometimes 2 and rarely 3. I'm thinking you are right about Kruzers. I would like to see a waterproof Gold Racer. And yes there is a flutter in threshold as sensitivity gets in higher 90's. I'm going to take a closer look at the Gold Racer.
  11. I'm going to use Deep mode, sensitivity 80-90 and disc 0. By using disc 0 the Gold Kruzer is able to get an air test on my 10k white gold earring at about 3" both ways. I don't understand why increasing disc to 22, which disc out nails, will not hit the gold earring very well. The earring id bounces around 20-45. It seems like it should hit it ok with disc raised. Even disc at 19 doesn't hit good. As the disc is lowed it's only gets slightly better. 0 disc hits best. Deep mode hits it better than all metal. The Deep mode hits it hard and all metal is very quiet hit in air test, maybe 1.5-2". Micro mode has to be almost touching to hit. So I'm going out with disc at 0 and see how I do. My thinking is I won't miss much gold. Didn't do very well this last summer. No gold. Got 2 silver earrings with the Equinox 800 and 6" coil for the summer. Northern Michigan is tough detecting.
  12. It does sound like there is iron with your target. Possibly turning the sod over that now the iron is masking your target. A probe does help to get everything out. I do have that happen a lot and with other detectors.
  13. It would still be good enough for a start being able to use White's detectors still with a Garrett name. Before, it was all gone. I don't know if they will do that. They have a lot of stuff to work with. We don't how how long it will be before they use the technology.
  14. That's incredible to save the detectors and see what Garrett can do with it.
  15. Good job finding those rings. The waves can hit hard especially if you are not prepared.
  16. I started detecting in 1972 when I was in school. I haven't used a cover from then on. One reason is they add weight to the coil.
  17. Soak in warm hydrogen peroxide and stuff will come flying off. I haven't seen any damage using it.
  18. Orx is easy to use in the water with the waterproof kit. It is rated to 16'.
  19. Andre’s Pencils look really good for cleaning. The looks great after you cleaned it.
  20. You get it in a grocery stores. I don't know what it used for but I like to heat first and when when you put the coin it it bubbles like crazy and dirt pops right off. I only use it on copper coins. I soak it for a few hours.
