just looked at my 800's 11" coil. The ears on that are pretty small and thin. These new ones are really substantial and probably less brittle plastic also....hopefully the 700 and 900 mark the end of pod flooding and broken coil ears....

Yes, I myself have bought too many detectors that I don't need and will either never use or only use as I feel bad they're stuck in the cupboard wasting away lonely.  I spent 9 grand on a GPX 6000 that I don't even really need and don't overly like, I was even told before buying it I'm wasting my money.    Metal detecting has taken up so much of my time.  I don't have enough time left to do the most important things in life or even get any jobs done around the house so it's with great sadness that I'm going to have to sell some stuff so I have more time.

If anyone wants to buy a lawn mower, a dish washer, various garden tools including a hedge trimmer, a vacuum cleaner, various cleaning chemicals and soaps which I'll bundle together as a package and other home-wares like a Microwave and various cooking appliances, you name it I'm selling it please contact me as I need to make some space for these new detectors.

    with free shipping?

Well, they said the Nox 700 and 900 have improved target separation along with more depth.... including beach mode has improved quite significantly by the sounds of it.  Sounds a lot like Multi-IQ + doesn't it?

will be interesting to see how fast the noise cancel is, sounds like a faster (+ more powerful) processor to me....which will veto any possible software update for the current models...

For Americans, that date is December 1, 2022, not January 12.  Along with this non-descript video they stated,

"On 1.12.22 you’ll find out why it’s better the second time around."

No mention of the Manticore and unsure what they are referring to as the second time around unless they are comparing it to the Nox.

Anyway, we can probably take this as a December 1st release of the Manticore.

    Yeeeeeeeaaaaahhhhhh!!!!!

2nd (and real 'shipping') release of M-core....

I have no idea how international shipping and time frames work. Do they fly them over or do they come in on a container ship? If it's a container ship I can see them taking a long time to get here. I wonder how many have actually been pre-ordered in the U.S. thus far?

deja vu all over again...I remember these same questions from the Equinox boondoggle lol

I called it 3 months ago. I said it won't be out till next year. No where near their end of November time frame. The reason ? The track records of these propagandist clowns. And it's not defined strictly by ML. Maybe someday these wokesters will awaken and go old school. Have real , known , seasoned , confirmed  hardcore hunters performing unbiased testing. Having the product finished AND ready for release. Only then , splash your marketing campaign and taking orders for maybe 2-3 weeks. Directly into consumers hands immediately afterwords. A surefire way to backup your talk and gain customer trust.

Etrac was a fabulous release. I read about it and boom, I had one in my hands on September 10, 2008 here in Canada.

I used it for 3 months as often as I could till the ground was frozen. Did extremely well with it from the 1st time out.

ground is frozen here now, so won't be able to use my new M-core till mid-March or so....sigh....

I think most here with a new D2 would probably do the same.  You can't just go around dropping $1600 every time a new detector comes on the market.  If I had bought a D2 I wouldn't be in the market for a Manticore right now either.  But I do think giving silly names to detectors you have no intention of buying is a bit childish.  Should we call the Deus II the Dump2?  LOL  (Just messing with ya)

this is similar to my situation with my current motorcycle (Honda CB500X) purchased March, 2021. I always want  (salivate over) various new ones that come out! but it just isn't practical especially here in Canada (various egregious dealer fees, very high insurance fees and Canada even charges 13% tax on used motorcycles, pretty bad.... but dang the new ones are very nice, lol.

All this stuff depends on your style of detecting, some people won't benefit at all from the target trace, some just like to dig as they don't want the risk of missing good stuff and they're always going to be the people that find the most.

also, in my case since I end up going to the same spots over and over I like simply getting rid of trash...

  9. decided to try the wm08 wireless module again on my EQ. fully charged it and kept it in a pouch around my waist to keep it close to the EQ head unit.

Getting this annoying signal clipping going on. If I plug in the phones directly nothing....sound is great. I'm running 50 tones.

Anyone else seeing this sort of issue? wondering if I have a faulty wireless module.

Equinox gave us ice cream, and now we are getting different flavors of ice cream. Manticore is a very nice detector, for sure, but as a pretty good operator I can honestly say I can use a Equinox, Legend, and Deus II, and get similar results, and Manticore is not going to change that. You want to make more and better finds, then put yourself on better locations, and put in more hours of detecting. Those two things will do far more to improve anyone's results, than the latest new whiz bang detector.

but I simply can't help myself being inexorably sucked in to the new 'Manhood' marketing hype....I WILL BUY ONE

Not impressed with the charge time of 7hrs ! and the run time of 9 hrs is not helpful especially here in the UK. Camping at 4 day Rallies is going to cause concerns especially in the summer where you have the option to detect for 12 hrs. My Equinox runs for 12 hrs and charges in 4 allowing me to use a power bank.

My Equinox charges up overnight in my car. The hatchback area has a cover (for security) and a 12V socket. If you're car camping you could do the same. The EQ800 comes with 2 charging cables so that 1 can be left permanently attached to the 12V to usb adapter in the back of my car.

also, Mark mentions in one of the videos that 9 hrs would be 'best case', with the 'high power' modes drawing down the batteries quicker. If it were me I'd keep a 20,000 mah brick in my pants pocket with a usb extension cable to the EQ charging cable (taped down with masking tape). Funky but you'd be able to finish up a long day.....

  12. yep, expensive here in Canada also but as with my previous Minelab's I'll be able to pay for it with finds. the gold rings I've found so far this year will be good for > $1000 (cdn) of the purchase price ($2079 + 13% tax) in melt value. The rest could be made up from clad finds, as we have $1 and $2 coins here. This isn't taking into account the ability to sell my EQ800 for probably 65% or so of the purchase price if necessary.  I will also get the 15% military discount.

Regardless, taking the 'Beast' (which is how I'll refer to it) out to my well hunted sites will certainly lead to a lot of fun/pleasure which I would call priceless...cheers

They neither mention nor show negative dTID's.  Lowest TID shown was in high twenties (lead seal) and highest were low 50's (copper? coin), that I remember anyway.  Mark Lawrie (sp?), the Minelab engineer, said something about he'll be posting some common targets and their digital ID's soon.

I believe the large red bar under the TID indicates the 'negative' value...

  14. Excellent post Steve, I'll be holding off (buying D2) for sure since I don't even detect the fresh water lakes where I live!

I was running Park 2 @ 40Khz last season with my EQ with some good success and will simply continue with that. Reality is I was simply 'blinded by the light' as the song goes...

looking forward to the 'thaw' to get out detecting again this season. Like'n the 5x10 on my EQ btw, it's a winner.

  15. After many years of 'admiring' the Deus but turned off by the high price here in Canada, I've already decided to 'bite' on the Deus 2 (with 9" coil). BTW, it'll cost $2100 + 13% up here, ouch!

I like that it's a better Deus 1 (Deus 2 Mono program) AND an SMF machine that will get a lot of SW updates over the months/years to come. It's ergos/light weight speak to me... I should be able to spend more time moving it around before tiring.

Being new, it will allow me to visit every old (can you say exhausted) spot within a 40 minute driving radius of my home and I 'probably' will be able to find a few more keepers, well, just because it's new and I'll be trying different programs/settings with it. Should be fun which is what it's ultimately all about, eh...and as I long as it can sniff out loonies and toonies, it will eventually pay for itself (faster if I can find a few gold rings!).

cheers all from the frigid north (hopefully the new Deus won't be delivered by truck, lol)
