Gold / Quartz Specific Gravity... Question
Walker replied to IronDigger's topic in Rocks, Minerals, Gems & Geology
Do you have a picture of it? Sounds like it's not just quartz an gold. Or maybe a large air pocket in it. -
I find a bit of solder while detecting. What is the low temperature you are talking about? Solder melts around 850 degrees.

Even if we didn’t make a profit prospecting some of us would do it anyway. Think about Mars and all that juicy red dirt ?
-
Thanks for sharing that!
-
I bet you could hear a shovel head if you rubbed it on the coil!
-
It’s my working season so nothing to report. I will see what I can do after November.

Thanks for posting this, I needed a gold fix.
-
Good to see that! Best post I have seen in a while. Go get his daddy.

Nice ! Thanks for taking the time to post! That’s some hard work there. Believe me I know.
-
So nice, I love stumbling!

Ok, I lost a month and a half due to the loss of an uncle. But I would estimate between 450 and 500 hours. The weight in the jar is just over 24 ounces. The biggest piece is 59 grams. I actually sold it all. I did spot price because it was one buyer and I don't have time to market it. I am just the farmer ?
-
It is only that way when everything is gold in the jar ?
-
Haha! They actually shake down under the big ones always. There is quite a few but the big ones ride on top. Funny isn't it.
-
Yes, all AZ. Lots of hard work in that jar.?

Golden Nuggets Of A Different Kind
Walker replied to Gerry in Idaho's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
I have only found that much in nuggets in one day a few times. So so nice. Those nuggets bring a premium for sure. They are so much more rare than their native brothers. -
All-around Vehicle For On/off Road
Walker replied to GB_Amateur's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
Does it ride in the truck bed? Are you allowed to tow triples? The camper is a toy hauler. The quad goes in there. Really handy. -
I agree, and extra deep can answer a lot of questions when switching around on deep targets.

No worries JP. We just call them boss and employees now.?

I wish Steve had a "so true" button. Or a love button.

No worries JW. I did finish the handle. I posted it before I finished all the details. I actually wired in a standard headphone plug. I will post the first gold I find with it next week. I like the center mount on the coil the most. I use the same battery pack, if you look at the picture you can see I put it in through the front.

Wow! It must have a big hallow bubble inside! They are deceptive for sure. Keep them coming Lunk!

I left the cable as is, if I have trouble with it I will shorten it. It sure coils tight around the shaft. The thing sounds great. I will take it out next week and prove it. I have found multiple ounces with this 2300. I bought it as soon as they came out. I could probably put a bigger coil on it but I don't need one. It is definitely more usable and lighter.
