I just got the pair I Bought on the eBay. They seem great but I’m not having any luck pairing them. I long pressed pinpoint while in Bluetooth mode to unpair the Nokta headphones, and then while in BT mode with Bluetooth on(setting 1) I got the Torus into pairing mode but nothing happened. Is there a step I’m missing to put the Legend in pairing mode also? Bc the headphone icon up top isn’t flashing - it’s just steady on. I had no trouble at all pairing the Nokta phones. The Avantree didn’t come with manual.

Just got the Avantree torus. tried pairing to Legend, no luck. the headphone on the screen shows and the LL shows, but sound is still coming through detector speaker. what have I missed.

To,, lolGotAU, I was using the Avantree Torus and had the earbuds in. Very smooth and I heard just one direction spike through the threshold when I first heard the signal. It was not repeatable.

I have a set of the Avantree neck headphones! But, of course I left them on my workbench charging up, as backup to stock head set! Always forget something, but never drinking water! Rick

As the title says this is a heads up for those that detect with headphones but hate having their ears covered, (that's ME), LOL I have been testing several different sets of earbuds and Bone Conduction Headphones, I love the Bone Conduction headphones but both earbuds and the bone conduction phones do not work properly when detecting with the threshold activated in the Legend every pair of Bone Conduction phones and every pair of earbuds I have tried just would not work correctly with the threshold active in the Legend, (and there is a reason they did not work correctly), but when using the supplied wireless headphones that comes in the Legend pro pack the threshold would work flawlessly, The reason being is the supplied headphones for the Legend are Aptx LL Low Latency headphone the LL is the key to the headphones working correctly. Most all earbuds and bone conduction headphones are Low Latency but they are not Aptx LL Low latency, earbuds and bone conduction phones are just standard Aptx 5.0,5.1,5.2,and the latest is 5.3 these are low latency but not LL Low Latency I have tried many pairs of earbuds at least 12 different pairs, and two pairs of Bone conduction headphones which I do like the two bone conduction headphones the best out of all I tried but, I recently tried a different type of Neck band speaker and I am quite impressed by them so I figured I would share my findings Just received my Avantree Taurus Neck Band speaker and I will say I love these things They are actually APTX Low Latency LL so when you connect them to the Legend you will see the two little LLs by the headphone icon in the Legend screen, just like the wireless headphones that came with the Legend, had no issues with them pairing with the Legend, I hate wearing headphones that cover my ears other earbuds and the bone conduction phones the two little LL is not present by the headphone Icon when connected so they are not true Low Latency LL connections, the Avantree are true Aptx LL Low Latency and work just like the factory headphones that comes with the Legend My main complaint with earbuds and even the Bone Conduction phones which I have been using never would work correctly when running the Legend with a threshold but the Avantree Taurus works great when running with the threshold activated on the Legend I have been on a search for a pair of phones that were actually Aptx Low Latency LL, and these Avantree Taurus are exactly as Avantree states. Avantree Wearable Bluetooth Speaker Headphones and Bluetooth MD21 Transmitter (minersden.com.au) Not real sure why you`d want the transmitter if your detector has BT aptx Low Latency but price seems ok. Myself I`ll be seriously considering for the Axiom, rather than a X-linx receiver and a powered speaker, no headphones for me I got spoilt by the Z.

Unfortunately, Nokta doesnt have a WM08 for Legend and uses a proprietary waterproof combo headphone/data/charge connector on their Legend/Simplex control boxes (which also makes using their outboard extended battery impossible with a wired loadspeaker or headphones). But Erik's nifty device will work with Legend (and Nox for that matter) with an APTX-LL BT receiver as an alternative to the Nox's WM08. Unfortunately, no WM08 equivalent or even APTX-LL receiver equivalent for the Nox 700/900 or Manticore as they use the latest and greatest BT LE Audio but there are no third party BT LE equivalents to these receivers out there quite yet. Because of the wonky Legend speaker and external wired audio limitations, I use the Avantree Torus neckband speaker with built-in earbuds so with one device I have a near field speaker or privacy as I see fit. I've used it with the Nox 800 too (and it is popular with GPX 6000 users). But it lacks onboard tone adjustments and the ability to plug directly into an audio source like Erik's device (which also appears to have a headphone jack of its own to pass through audio...nice).

I've tried a few of the Cheap Chinese transmitters and even Avantree and Mpow branded ones are NOT Low Latency. To my ears, they are waaay too slow for Pulse Induction prospecting detectors. Ive wasted several hundred dollars trialing the cheap ones and done my dough on all of 'em. Appreciate the feedback on the Quest products though....seems like ya gotta be real careful with the charging connections ports?

If you can give us some specs on the hearing aids' bluetooth parameters (i.e Bluetooth version (4.× or 5.x)), whether the aids are Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) only (which would not be compatible with the Nox 800 at all) and what audio codecs are supported by the hearing aids (e.g., SBC, AAC, APTX, LDAC, etc,) we can better assess compatibility with the 800. If his aids don't support APTX-LL, the latency (audio delay while swinging the coil over the target) may be excessive and render them impractical for use. Also, as Knomad said, it is a bit of a crapshoot even if the specs look compatible. I have a set of BT APTX-LL phones that should pair with the 800 in low latency mode, but they won't even connect with the Nox even though they pair just fine with my phone. Finally, if your friend doesn't like the Minelab wireless phones AND his hearing aids are found to not be compatible with the Nox 800, then there may be alternative third party BT APTX-LL (low latency) headphones or earbuds he may find better suit him than the Minelab Phones which are known to have a muddy sound quality (lack of high frequency definition). Another alternative is the fantastic Avantree Torus low latency (APTX-LL) compatible BT neckband speaker (that provides a near field sound scape that has more privacy and sound definition than the onboard detector speaker and which allows him to still use his hearing aids untethered to the detector). The Torus also has built in earbuds that can be switched on (silencingcthe speaker) for additional privacy and sound fidelity. I rack out a number of these Vanquish/Nox 600&800/Nokta Legend compatible 3rd party BT APTX-LL devices in the post below. HTH

yep I intend on getting one of the new nokta pointers when they come out also, don't know if it will pair with my avantree torus neck band speaker or not but don't really care either, i do not use the headphones that came with the Legend but will still get one just to see if they are any good, the other thing about the New X Pointer and the older version is they are a tip only pin pointer which I like I also have the Simplex and that was the only reason i purchased the Pulse dive pointer to pair with the headphones that work with the simplex plus but I never have been able to get the pulse dive to pair with the headphones for the simplex at all and trying to get it warrantied was a pain in the butt so I just gave up on getting it fixed or replaced

This topic often confuses people and because the details are hidden within specific detector threads people are not aware of nitty gritty details that can help you select the right 3rd party accessories to pair with the wireless audio capability of your detector. What Jeff pointed out are just about the only non-neckband style APTX-LL buds still out there (they still sport the wire between the right and left buds, i.e., they are not "true wireless" earbud style - but if neckband is a no go, then that's about your only choice at this point). But they were solid as far as APTX-LL compatible earbud audio quality is concerned and were priced north of $50 when first released. That's a smokin' deal Jeff found, if they are legit because of not only the price but the fact that they are hard to find, period. Personally, I like the neck band style because it sort of anchors the buds if one or both buds fall out of your ear while swinging or if you just want to temporarily remove them for a break without fear of them just falling to the ground or tugging on the other ear (the neckband keeps them somewhat more secure to your body than true wireless or even single wired phones like the Aukey's and you don't have the controls dangling off one of the bud wires). As noted previously, if you want to continue your quest for such buds, you need to make 100% sure the buds are spec'd for APTX-LL, SPECIFICALLY. APTX, APTX-HD, and APTX-Adaptive will not provide low latency compatibility with the detectors that Jeff listed above. The issue of compatibility and specs amibiguity lies not so much with the detector manufacturers but with the headphone manufacturers themselves who inexplicably fail to be precise about compatibility with the myriad of bluetooth protocols and codecs that are out there, especially in regards to low latency. It's really annoying, confusing, and borderline underhanded in the way features are presented and specific specs are withheld. Also, Maximus, if you are considering the new ML Xterra Pro, it (as well as the Nox 700/900 and Manticore) uses the newer BT LE spec with the LC3 codec, which is also a low latency codec. Unfortunately, headset manufacturers are still working out compatibility bugs between different BT LE chipsets and the only two BT LE earbuds out there right now are not compatibile with the Minelab BT LE chipset used in the afore mentioned detectors, including the Xterra Pro. So your only optionS on ML Xterra Pro is to spring for over the ear ML branded BT LE wireless headphones as an extra purchase or wired phones or purchase a BT APTX-LL transmitter that will plug into the headphone jack of the detector and transmit to one of the phones listed above. I also am only new on the Axiom I also have a 6K from when they were first introduced. My thoughts so far on audio re. threshold and sensitivity is volume also should be factored in, as these 3 go hand in hand eg. set the volume on 1, up the sensitivity to full, adjust the threshold to be nice and stable handling hot ground but in doing so you have effectively dumbed down the sensitivity somewhat. A happy medium between these 3 settings is used to handle various ground along with fine/normal. GT off mostly. I use Avantree Torus neckband on speaker with an aptX BT transmitter velcroed on the Axiom as I have grown to love the Torus from use on the 6K.

that's a heck of a deal, I have been in contact with Avantree to produce a pair of Bone Conduction headphones that utilize aptX LL Bluetooth connection, so here is hoping LOL

My Avantree Torus last about 2-3 days on a charge and I listen to music and metal detect with them they will alert you when they are getting low on charge

One thing I noticed when pairing my Avantree Torus to my Legend is I have to make sure the Bluetooth in my cell phone is off and also no other things with a Bluetooth connection like a lap top is near by, then I set the Bluetooth connection in my Legend to 1 and turn on the Avantree Torus neckband speaker and it pairs rite up also as phrunt stated sometimes it takes a bit for them to pair, but once they do pair they connect almost immediately every time you boot up the Legend in the future wish you would have said you were going to purchase the Avantree Torus because I would have advised you to purchase straight from Avantree site because when you purchase straight from the Avantree site they give you a two year warranty instead of a one year like when you purchase from eBay or Amazon

Just give them a factory reset, sometimes they screw up and can't pair... its' happened to me and I haven't used mine much. Press and hold the volume + and - buttons simultaneously for about 5 seconds until the LED briefly turns PINK. You'll also hear two "beeps," indicating that the speaker have reset. The speaker should then go into pairing mode and the LED will alternate between flashing RED & BLUE. Also when pairing Bluetooth stuff it's best to hold it right next to the detector so it gets maximum signal strength. I just bought a pair of the avantree torus on eBay auction for $30. I think they’re $79 or so new. These will suit me better than the headphones and I’ll be able to hear ambient sounds.

As Voyager32 stated I also am using the Avantree Torus and love them for the same reasons as you stated they allow me to stay aware of my surroundings they work very very good

The Avantree Torus is my go to, haven’t used my headphones or earbuds since I started using them, they work great and so comfortable I forget I have them on.

Absolutely agree with you on the Bone Conduction, Avantree did make a pair of Bone Conduction headphones that used aptX LL, at one time but no longer make them which is disappointing
