  1. What is wrong with the Gold Kruzer? Why doesn't NEL or CORS or Magic or Detech make any coils for the Gold Kruzer? They make full lineups of coils of for the Gold Racer, but not a one for the Gold Kruzer. You can't say its because of the water proof connector, as they make coils for the Kruzer and Anfibio. You can't say its because of the frequency as they make coils for the Gold Racer and the Gold Kruzer is basically a waterproof Gold Racer. So what gives? Why do the aftermarket coil mfg's treat the Gold Kruzer like an ugly step-child? Mike
  2. I haven't used my Treasure Pro in about a year and it has been packed up and hauled around a bit. I turned it on and I get random readings all over of the scale. I followed the directions to reset it with no change. If the coil is not connected it is quiet. Could I have a broken coil? Dan
  3. I was thinking the other day about some of the best metal detectors of the analog age and early digital age. My memory shows concentric searchcoils, the Fisher CZ series being an example. What is the earliest commercial detector that had the commercial option of a DD coil? (As opposed to prototypes, experiements, garage builds, etc., although if you know of any of those it would also be interesting to read about.) Were there analog detectors (and if so, which ones) that worked with DD coils or did those not come around until digital circuitry took over?
  4. I leave you a video in case someone wants to do it. Having two dishes to choose from, I don't know if it's worth it. Although it must be recognized that the plate is much cheaper and larger. The video is in Spanish but the procedure to do it looks pretty good.
  5. I was listening the other day to C-Scope talking about the new Evo-6000. They said they opted for single frequency operation with the coil set for one frequency as it is better as it resonates at it's design frequency, in this case 17khz. They did say there will be option coils to change the frequency higher or lower but this will mean purchasing a new coil to change frequency. Is this truly the best way to achieve the best sensitivity at a given frequency or are they just holding on to old tech. There are other makes of detector that you can change frequency with the same coil (Deus, ORX, Kruzer, Anfibio, Nox etc) do these machines have a set resonate frequency matched to the coil which offers best performance and do they lose sensitivity if you change frequency? Or is there a way of making the coil sensitive to a range of frequencies. Just wondering why they chose to go a different route to others on the frequency selection?
  6. ⁉️ Which one is better? Has anyone done a comparison test between the two coils for a jewelry hunt in the water? (freshwater or land) Both are able to use the same frequency. 28 kHz is very good for detecting gold. When I hunt in the water it is a very useful feature of target ID normalization. On the of LF coil, this was a big advantage. I set the gold range, so I only dug out the signals that belong to it. The HF 9" coil is great, but when I increase the frequency the VDI changes, getting higher and higher. The upper range will become narrower. This makes it difficult to decide whether to dig or not. Let's look at an example. A 1.5 g 14K wedding ring is the test object. HF 9 "coil at 14 kHz = ID 50, 28 kHz = ID 65, 56 kHz = ID 79. X35 11 "coil 11.3 kHz = ID 54, 16.4 kHz = ID 54, 25.4 kHz = ID 54! If I use frequency offset these numbers will change a bit. The general opinion of many people is that the HF coil is the best. I'm not so sure about that. I looked at this idea in terms of the gold jewelry hunt.
  7. I finally got my old 11'' replaced. This new coil is working great and I couldn't be more happy. Thanks to Dilek all my problems have been resolved. Yesterday and today were the first times I have given it a good run. I decided to hunt a farm house yesterday. I usually think the finds are getting low. Well low and behold I was wrong. Yesterday was good and bad as posted on the coin and relic forum. Today was even better!! same farm plus a kids camp. In two hours at the farm I scored a 2 oz. sinker, a bunch of odd lead, 2 wheat pennies, a girl scout pin from the 60's and two fabulous 1952 and 1957 roosevelt dimes. Around 1:30pm I decided to hit the camp. In another two hours I scored $1.05 in clad (not much) and a very awesome 1810 to 1830's button. inscribed on the back is Treble gilt Standard colour. seems to be a british button. Most of the clad from the 60's and 70's were at 6 to 7 inches deep. this button was around 3''. I did dig a bunch of deep trash always looking for the gold rings. The only thing is the id numbers are a little off, they are a couple of points off, but that was an easy learn. I'm thinking the old coil was bad from day one and today just proved it. I can't wait to hit some more of my sites and see what I missed with the old coil. The MK has yet to let me down and has been a great machine in the short time that I have owned it.
  8. I just got word today that the new lightweight 15” coils are in production. I have a prototype for the T2 - it weighs 750 grams (26 oz.). MSRP is $149. If anyone wants one, I can get it shipped direct from FTP to you. It looks identical to the previous 15” coil - just made with different epoxy and much lighter.
  9. Hey guys, I've been doing some reading on Mars Lion 7" coils to see how they might compare to NEL or others but coming up a bit dry. Saw something about the MARS coils maybe being more sensitive but noisy. I really like the way the NEL are built, as least externally. Would be great to see the construction too, can only hope.. Looking at the Mars Lion, NEL Sharpshooter / CORS Fortune, and maybe the 7 or 9" Nokta Makro concentric for kind of a smaller coil to user in dense areas with an Anfibio. The primary now is a NEL Hunter 12.5x8.5. Really "digging" that one, so much so that I got one for my E-Trac and Anfibio both. Doesn't have to be for the Anfibio but if anyone has experience with these makes with other units it could be helpful in hearing how they run and any pros/cons. Thanks and HH! Mike
  10. Does anyone know how to make coils for GPZ detectors? Or is anyone aware of companies that make coils for minelab detectors???
  11. I have a Sovereign XS2-a Pro and was looking at aftermarket coils. Any of you fellas use one? Does it go deeper than stock 10 inch coil? How's the stability? Any other coils you guys use/recommend?
  12. If you don't want to lose depth and get perfect discrimination in any soil you need custom coil. Here some tests with subs Скачать видео Скачать видео
  13. Been keeping my eyes out for the Nel Super Fly or CORS Butterfly 12w X 11 long coil. Weighs 420g. Seen some for Garrett AT Series and ML Soverign. https://corscoils.com/product/butterfly/ Hopefully more will come over to the states. Looking for a bigger coil for my MK.
  14. After a busy week, doing an effort between heavy rain interruptions, I finally finished this work! Thanks for all people involved in this project for their knowledge shared... Underwater test next week(I hope)
  15. I have a slight issue with my 11'' coil. Almost from day one it does not pin point in the center of the coil. It was about 2'' toward the nose, not that big a deal at the time. Now it hits anywhere on the whole edge, which means I have a 11'' pinpoint spot. This is very hard to find center target now. Also it is becoming knock sensitive on grass and gets a little chattery even on good solid targets. This coil is only about 4 months old. That being said who should I contact first, Nokta or the service center in Georgia? Anyone have any experience sending stuff back?
  16. I was wondering what you serious “Water” hunters use to weigh down your coils. Someone once suggested taking a “tube” sock, filling it with sand, tying it in a circle (like an ankle weight) and sliding in over your lower rod having it lay on the coil. I’ve also seen bandanas (to keep you cool) with Silica Gel sewed in to them. They absorb the water and expand making them heavier than they are dry. I wonder if you had enough in there, would that work also? Thanks! Walt
  17. Fisher makes a cache coil for the F75. 15" DD Nokta makes a cache coil for the IMPACT. 15 x 17" DD Both offer multiple non-motion static all metal modes; F75 has the DE, BP, and CL operation options for their static all metal mode. . Nokta has the STA and STA(D) static operating modes. I wonder which detector is the better cache hunter? I guess I need to find out. The winner gets the cache coil. Any thoughts? HH Mike
  18. There are few things a water hunter needs to be happy when doing his work... A good bottom condition and a well prepared machine to do the job. Many times I found good stuff but really struggling with a coil larger than 10". Vlf or pulse, will depend for the most by the environment type, but talking about coils, there's no comparison for a diver with an 8".Not only saltwater is a reduced problem with it, but between rocks, between waves, between any other thing, I still prefer to use a smaller coil. I'm in love with the AQ performance, for what I can see in multiple videos Joe OBN is publishing, but I only think about a smaller coil to be released soon. I hope Alexandre+FT are already working on this thing, cause otherwise I'll be forced to wait until that moment will be reality. 8" coil is a rule for me.
  19. I just happened across this video and thought I'd post it. I still find any of these simple videos to not include 'off the coil' sensing of a target. They show field restricted to just the edges of the coil. We all know the field is larger than the coil. I say I'm drawn to some of my targets like a moth to a flame. Some days I am better at this than others. It's the FRINGE that can make a difference.
  20. Hi all, can anyone advise if the Coil cable attachment to the SDC is the same as GPX 5 pin standard? I noticed that Coiltec have a accessory pack to adapt to the SDC 2300 shaft then use a Coiltec coil instead of the supplied unit. I have old coils that I would like to try out. Wondering what effect using another manufacturers coil would do to the product warranty also, cheers sturt
  21. I'm so bored of my 12" dual field coil on my TDI bH that I now want to change the coil with an 8" mono. I know this can be a stupid question, but I try to ask... Can a Garrett Sea Hunter coil be adapted on the TDI? I need an open design coil to hunt underwater... The only other option is a Detech closed 8" mono...Which will float even more than now cause of the tdi control box balloon like buoyancy... Shoot your answers please mates!!!
  22. There is a listing on ebay for this coil and I am wondering if it looks like a genuine coil or some type of knockoff.
  23. That is 1/4" half round plastic on the edge of the coil. It is on with double sided tape so can be removed. The added weight isn't noticeable. It swept in the water easier. On my Gold Kruzer the coils are thicker a 1/2". I added 1/2" half round and it was noticeably easier to sweep in the water. Now I'm just waiting for my T2 rod for the Nox. It's going to be nice.
  24. hi steve! what do you think of this new coil? do you believe it is good for trashy sites? it appears to be a "compromise" to me! (h.h.!) j.t.
  25. After trying several reinforcements and lasting very little, I have found one that has nothing to do with the others. The person who makes them is an aeronautical engineer. I leave you some photos in case anyone is interested. I have been using it for several months and I can recommend it. It also makes more parts, such as armrests for different crutches, the part for catching the coil, parts for mounting the electronics on different crutches, etc.
