  1. Got word recently, that both Tim Mallory and Mike Scott have lost their jobs at 1st Texas. I think it was, maybe 2 years ago when Gene Scullion and others lost their jobs too. That makes me wonder about Lupe, who is one of the workers at the main plant. I guess Covid has affected more than just a few businesses.
  2. Hey all, I found this website today that gives those of you outside the US; a US shipping address! To buy things here, sales tax free, and have them forwarded to your door anywhere in the world! Do your due diligence, and make sure things are legit first! But hopefully, they will make products cheaper, easier, and quicker for you all to ship from here!!👍👍 Http://www.shipw.com/
  3. Just letting everyone overseas in Australia, New Zealand, Tasmania,Canada and everywhere else outside of the states know that I got the shipping rates corrected for The Nugget Shooter's Field Guide, and reduced. Even the rates for ordering in quantity is way less.
  4. So I was verified today by someone I cant name for obvious reasons that minelab will be anoucing a new pi in May at the ballerat dealers conference whay that pi is is a unknown it could be a new sdc a new gpx or new gpz that we have to wait and see but I'm excited either way and hoping I won't have to sell my house for it
  5. Got a message while I was out of touch in Nevada. Holly? said they were reopening their Oregon repair center for 3 or 4 weeks. She said they'd take care of my GM24K problem, under warranty. Best news I've had since Tuesday Morning...LOL Jim
  6. Sorry for the cross post in meet and greet. New to the forum, just wanted to say hello before I started to ask questions here haha. Several years ago I bought a junker metal detector to test out the hobby, it died a couple years later now I'm back. Wondering how good Kellyco customer service is. Ordered a new MD from them and after 10 days of patiently waiting, I was sent what Is obviously a used machine. I paid for a new one so I'm a bit irritated about it. It's Sunday so I have to wait until tomorrow to call. I could have ordered one through Amazon, but thought I'd give them a try. Any issues with Kellyco before? Not looking to bad mouth anyone, just wondering if this is common business practice. They have been around a long time I see, so I guess I expected more from them. Shane
  7. Dear Valued Members, We would like to share some exciting news with you! As you know, Nokta Makro has been growing tremendously, thanks to all of you, over the past few years. During our growth stage, we believe we have proved that Nokta Makro is a serious player in this industry when it comes to development and innovation. As the COVID hit the world earlier this year, we felt that as a technology developing company, we have a responsibility and a moral duty towards humanity during these tough times the world is going through. We knew that we could touch more lives and make them easier if we looked outside the detector industry, our core business. Today, we are proud to announce that we have established a sister company, Quall, which will focus on medical, industrial and consumer electronics products. Quall’s R&D development team is totally separate from Nokta Makro engineering and Nokta Makro engineers will continue on developing detectors which will always stay as our core business. On a separate note, earlier this year, we made a big investment and bought a new factory which will accommodate the production and development of both brands. Our new facility is 11,000 square meters (118,400 square feet) and is located in one of the prestigious industrial parks in Istanbul. The architects are currently working on the interior design of the building and we are hoping to move to our new building in 2021! We invite all of you to check out the new website of Quall at www.quall.com where the picture of our new building is also displayed. Quall’s first product QuallThermo – a non-contact thermometer is approaching the end of its development stage and will be available for sale in a couple of months. We thank you once again for your support and hope to see you as Quall customers in the future as well as Nokta Makro! Regards, Dilek Gonulay

  9. Any attempt to go to the https://www.whiteselectronics.com/ website is now redirected to the Garrett website. We do not know if Garrett will maintain White's as a separate product lineup, but this is a tiny bit of evidence they may not. On the other hand, it may simply be that a redesign of the White's website is underway. But for now, the old White's website is gone.
  10. I spoke with Todd Marshall today and he just picked up ALL the left over parts from White's. He said to give him about 3 weeks to sort it all out before calling for availability.
  11. As many of you have no doubt heard, the COVID19 situation in El Paso is pretty serious. I posted a while ago information I got from them that they were busy working and shipping product (not so many AQ’s - but). Well, I just had a chance to talk to my main contact in Sales Management at FTP and I think it is useful to share the general message I got. She explained to me that the (new) facility at FTP has advanced air circulation and filtration systems - that all personnel have been provided with highly effective face masks and that workstations and all other aspects of the internal organization of where people work and how they interact with each other have been carefully arranged to absolutely minimize the chance of infection. Her general comment was - the time we spend at work is the safest part of our days. Tom (the President) is deeply involved in making this a safe workplace and has spared no expense in doing so.
  12. There is a little coin shop next town over from me that used to be a Whites dealer and now has a big Garrett Sign out front. Will stop in and see what they have for inventory. Seems Garrett is using some of the original Whites dealers for distribution. Nice to see the dealers still offer equipment and not disbanding local sales. Good to be able to see new units in hand rather than just online pictures and videos.
  13. I am hesitant to ask about another detecting forum, so I hope it is OK, but is anyone else having trouble getting TNet to load??
  14. I never bought here but they looked like a good place to do so. I saw some good buys there, and listing was free. But now they are gone? Seems to be happening a lot in metal detector land these days. http://www.treasureclassifieds.com/
  15. I have no information on specific details but have been informed that First Texas is open and busy processing orders.

White’s, who had been in business since 1950 as a premier manufacturer of metal detection products, announced the suspension of operations on June 18, 2020 in a memo to its dealers. White’s founders, Kenneth and Olive White, built their business the same way Garrett’s founders, Charles and Eleanor Garrett, did, by innovating and committing to producing high quality products in the United States. White’s current principals, Kenneth R. and Mary White, are choosing to fold the White’s legacy in with Garrett Metal Detectors as a way of extending their “Made in the USA” tradition. Garrett CEO Steve Novakovich commented, “The White family and the Garrett family have had a high level of respect for one another as competitors in the sport market for decades. Now we at Garrett are proud to combine our respective legacies as Garrett continues on as the premier American metal detector company.” The transaction includes White’s trademarks, intellectual property, tooling, and other assets. It does not include White’s real estate in Oregon or Scotland. Garrett intends to rigorously defend all of White’s trademarks, patents, and other IP wherever infringement may occur. Novakovich continued, “Garrett recognizes that the White’s brand has a loyal following in the US and around the world. We are pleased to welcome those customers to Garrett, and we hope we can earn your future business.” Current White’s customers in need of repair or warranty service should contact: Centreville Electronics 9437 Main Street Manassas, VA 20110 (888)645-0202 (703)367-7999 centrevilleelectronics.net Centreville Electronics NW 1550 Maple Place Lebanon OR 97355 (541)409-7263 centrevilleelectronicsnw.com About Garrett Metal Detectors Garrett Metal Detectors, co-founded by electrical engineer Charles Garrett and fifth-generation educator Eleanor Smith Garrett, is a global leader in the design and manufacture of metal detection products for hobby, security, and law enforcement applications.. 18. Last week my battery conked out. The Nox ran on the charger..... but not the battery. I called Keith Leppert my dealer out of Fort Bedford Metal Detectors, where by the way ML repair is, and asked him what i needed to do. He gave me a phone number and they gave me an RMA to send the machine in. When i took the machine apart ... i noticed stress cracks in the plastic mounts that holds the bolts in on the pod. She added that to my battery issue. They received it on Friday and i got a message from John who said they would get right on it, but because of the Virus there could be a delay but to please be patient and they would let me know. 3 more Emails on Monday from different people lol. Thanking me for choosing ML, my machine was repaired and heres the tracking number. Never said what they did....... so i contacted Kieth late in the evening. Next morning he said they replaced the pod. Thats a high five to ML in my book. They have just been awesome to me on this machine. Keith as a dealer ...... great to deal with, id highly recommend him any day. He will spend the time talking to you about hunting as well as a machine if you have the time ...... he takes the time. Plus..... the ML repair shop is right there. I happened to check those bolt mounts because two friends had they pods break completely off the shaft. Keith said the after market shafts maybe the issue. Apparently the OD on some maybe to small. So people are over tightening them. Also if its to small it wears the CF enough they get re-tightened. Keiths word of caution .... take care in tightening those bolts.

  21. Just noticed this on the White's USA website, offloading of factory machinery. Full list of equipment can be found here Equipment ranging from Forklifts to Scopes and Drill presses Can't purchase any of this in the UK, but I thought it would interest members from the USA Whites-Equipment-List.pdf

  23. https://codan.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/FINAL-INVESTOR-PRESENTATION-20-Aug-20.pdf Metal detector sales up 30% (Recreational 11%, Gold Prospecting 42%) - Africa is the largest market by far (due to gold prospecting detectors) - New gold prospecting model coming GPX 6000 - X-Terra and Safari discontinued - Thirty million invested in Engineering / R&D. No wonder the competition can't keep up! I found it interesting that even with the new Vanquish and Equinox, sales growth is heavily weighted to the gold prospecting models, illustrating the relative size of the markets. The big money is in gold prospecting detectors, as further evidenced by sales in Africa in particular. And although a new GPX model is specifically indicated, there is no such hint about a new coin detector release soon. FY21 OUTLOOK Well positioned for FY21: • Strong start to the year and in line with FY20 • Demand for our metal detection products remains strong • Minelab will benefit from a full year of Vanquish® sales and the release of a new gold detector • Current travel restrictions may impact Tactical Communications business development • Minetec is expected to return to profitability • Strong balance sheet allows us to explore strategic opportunities Business update at virtual AGM on 28th October 2020
