How many characters is a holographic Minelab identification code would be best if it was a GPZ?

I don’t post on the White’s forum and some of you know about this already. They have this guy by the name of Jeremy and Tom is calling him Senior System Network Admin. Tom made this statement that he takes the customer service side of things to the next level. I’m not sure to what level that he has authorization to do anything but maybe in time he’ll come on here . When he so desires he just may be willing clarify this further. Chuck

In spite of having no particular interest in the link which someone posted on another forum to Minelab’s announcement of establishing a repair facility in France, I looked at it anyway. Buried three paragraphs down in this announcement from Minelab about a new repair facility in France was a “gold nugget” which I thought might be of general interest. I have posted the link as well if anyone is interested. I expect that the statement will apply generally - not just for French customers - and it’s very good news in that case.”We have recently received several queries about after warranty support for the Equinox detector and will publish information about how this will be handled. We would like to reassure French Equinox users that fixed cost and affordable repairs will be available for Equinox outside of the warranty period as well as items such as lithium ion battery replacement.” [www.minelab.com]

I can't recommend this product. I'm on my second one already, because the first one won't stay paired. Now my replacement won't stay paired either. It sometimes pairs, but then drops in and out as you're recovering the target. It's very annoying. I guess I'll be returning this one and going on to a third hoping it works as it should. Oh, I'm also on my 4th WT-1 transmitter as they keep dying on me. My third replacement lasted about a week. And when I had my ATMax, I had to return the coil because it was defective. What's going on at Garrett these days? Do they have a quality control department? Good thing Garrett service is excellent because I sure do need it a lot. Dan

I just got my control pod back from Minelab after a replacement due to a faulty on/off button. 11 day round trip, they got it on a Friday afternoon and shipped out the new one on a Monday afternoon. Due to the extra warm weather 10-12 days of 100+ temps, I wasn't going to do much hunting anyway. Every rep I talked to thru the process was very friendly and helpful. Thank you Minelab!!

Over on MD-Hunter is talking about a detector that Tom Boykin is testing in Brazil . It will look like the MX 7 but in a different color and higher frequency. It shows a picture but you really can’t see much. I can’t see why all the way to Brazil when I do believe he could have found gold here. I just don’t understand why White’s Don’t call me anymore.haha Chuck

Whites has notified Dealers of a new VLF Gold Detector. Gold Master 24K with XGB XGB means extreme ground balance. More to follow, getting late.

Tom you may have posted one time or another but if you did I didn’t see it. Just checking up on you and White’s to see if any new detector coming that you could talk about? Right now on this part of the forum I’ve seen more goings on in a Funeral Home than here . I’d even listen to a lie if you can make it sound believable. Hope all is well with you and don’t be a stranger.. Remember you don’t have to be selling something to say hello. Chuck

I didn’t see any Makro or Nokta metal detectors and that is what I was hoping to see. I guess the problem is that lack of dealers in the USA. Just maybe over time this will not be the case. I think it would be good for the customer if we had more competition. It would have the effect of a better product and a better competitive price. Don’t miss understand me I don’t want something for nothing. I’m willing to pay the price for top quality detectors. Chuck

We have a recreation/sports park about two miles from my house that is tucked away in the back of a housing area, off the main road, and with no signs indicating the park is there to traffic. It consists of a soccer field, baseball field, roller hockey rink, playground, and paved bike/walking paths. When I first found it, I immediately thought it might be possible that this park may have been overlooked by MD'ers, since most of them work the beaches and the VERY public parks. This was an opportunity to test my newly acquired Equinox knowledge. My hunch turned out to be correct! VIRGIN! I have only worked less than 5% of the park, mostly around the playground, and the pull was fantastic, with about 50% of the finds less than 2" underground. I worked it for about three hours, and seriously got tired going up and down on my knees! This is a coinshooter's dream... No silver, and copper pennies back to 1964, but target after target after target! Biggest surprise was the Nox's absolute accuracy on dimes. 95% of the time I saw solid, static 25 on the TID, it was a dime...and a lot of them. Very VERY pleased with the Nox, and the 800 I will receive at some point will only make it better! N,D,Q's all clad, so after checking key dates, tumbled. Dimes were smacked at 25 down to as low as 8". Pennies ranged from 21-25. Quarters at 28-29 and nickels came in at 13. Park 2, GB, Sens 22 and then down to 15 when she started chattering badly, recovery max, notched out all below 12 and 14 (which was verified for tabs). The all-metal pump procedure was fantastic for ID'ing junk. Also, single frequency look on suspicious targets was effective. Not shown are the 32 pennies, of which only 8 were zincolns. The four 1982 pennies were all 3.11g coppers as well. Totals: Quarters - 17 (earliest 1972) Dimes - 34 (Earliest 1966) Nickels - 4 Pennies - 32 (Earliest 1964) Half of a broken junk metal bracelet Cloth backed and rotting CZ bracelet Going to work that park to death in the coming days, weeks, and months!

SOUTH AUSTRALIA MANUFACTURING FIRM RAIDED BY FEDERAL TASKFORCE Adelaide - A South Australian manufacturing company, located in Adelaide, was raided on Friday afternoon by an Australian Federal Police Taskforce, executing a search warrant issued on behalf of the National Industrial Chemicals Notification and Assessment Scheme. (NICNAS). Minelab Metal Detectors, a unit of Codan Industries, was the subject of the Taskforce Crackdown on Illegal Industrial Chemical Importation. A Police spokesperson stated that information had been developed that indicated that the company had been illegally importing a dangerous chemical used in strengthening plastics, named Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), from Indonesia. Multiple 500 liter drums of the substance were confiscated during the raid. DBP is listed by NICNAS a having an "Absolute Prohibition", and not allowed to be imported under any circumstances. Minelab was ordered to shut down all production facilities pending the final outcome of the investigation. Employees were all released. Two senior executives of the company are being held pending an initial bond hearing No court date has yet been set, as the Taskforce and Federal Law Enforcement agencies continue to develop charges. Codan company Managing Director and CEO Donald McGurk stated that the company intends to cooperate and assist the government with their investigation, and hopes to minimize the impact on the subordinate unit, its employees, and customers. NICNAS helps protect the Australian people and the environment by assessing the risks of industrial chemicals and providing information to promote their safe use. Their focus is the industrial use of chemicals. This covers a broad range of chemicals used in inks, plastics, adhesives, paints, glues, solvents, cosmetics, soaps and many other products. ---31 March 2018 by April Sankowsky APRIL FOOLS!!!! Outside of other risks, if a person purchased an unopened, never registered Minelab detector from a unauthorized dealer/party, say a pawn shop. Would Minelab cover warranty service without a receipt from an authorized dealer?

Land Matters is going through growing pains. The Land Matters website volume has been doubling every two weeks. A month ago there were usually 35 - 50 people making maps at any given time day or night. Now there are around 200 - 250 people creating maps at the same time. That's a much bigger load on our servers and resulted in some stress on the mapping system. That's led to some glitches. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. We are actively "tuning" our servers to deliver more maps for more people. The system is running much smoother now but with continued tuning there will be occasional slowdowns, it's unavoidable but we will try to keep any disruptions to a minimum. We like it that more people are discovering Land Matters every day. We are setting up the Land Matters servers to handle a lot more traffic now so we won't be having problems in the future. Please bear with us over the next week or two as we build a faster more responsive website for you.

Come to find that forum member Mike Haer has a weekly podcast each Monday that I have been generally oblivious to though I think I linked to it in the past on a given subject. Anyway, Mike had another new forum member, George Kinsey, on last week and the forum was mentioned. Many hours of listening available there from past shows so check it out. And thanks for the mention guys!! https://www.spreaker.com/show/all-metal-modes-show Mike’s Website
