  1. I was just notified of a new coil for Simplex - 15" Ultimate from Detech. The Ultimates are great coils, high performance to weight ratio, so good news in my opinion.
  2. Been reading a lot about the new Coiltek, Nugget Finder & now Detech coils of late. I haven't had much to do with any of these but have detected a small area immediately after 2 x GPX4500 with the Coiltek Elite 14" mono attached. Although not an exhaustive or scientific test the end result was I got 8 x subgram nuggets from the area with the SDC & the 4500's nothing. 2 of the subgrammers came from adjacent to their scrapings so they knew something was there but was still iffy enough to walk away from. I keep hearing or reading how these coils are transforming GPX's into SDC's or even GPZ's but this short "test", for want of a better word, put some doubts in my mind. I've got no doubt that there is improvement in the new coils in how they enhance the target information or audio response of the detector through better windings etc. but I'm not entirely convinced it's as substantial as some make out. My thoughts are it may be about 10% performance improvement (every bit does help regardless) & 90% of a placebo effect i.e. you buy a new coil excited by the possibilities of it's performance, you regain some enthusiasm & become more positive in approach even detecting more carefully + with more purpose - then when you find gold of course it's the new coil that done it right? Another thing that has me scratching my head is how excited people are about them finding very small gold. My smallest bit with a GPX5000, fine gold & standard 11" Minelab Commander mono coil was 0.03 of gram (I think about 0.46 of a grain) so they have always been capable of doing it even with an unfashionable coil (but still a good one). Like I said I'm not doubting that there are definite performance improvements, much like the introduction of litz wire, but I do believe a lot can also be attributed to a refreshed or reinvigorated enthusiasm too. New detectors could also have a very similar affect on us. What do the experts reckon?
  3. Hey all, I was just wondering if anyone else know's anything about these 3 detectors! The flyers where in my new coil boxes! 👍👍
  4. I am looking at getting an after market coil for the MXT. Has anyone tried one of the Ultimate or SEF coils by Detech on their unit and if so which model and size did you get and how much of an improvement was it compared to the stock coil?? Detech 13" DD Ultimate coil for V3i, VX3, M6, MX5, and all MXT models
  5. After a busy week, doing an effort between heavy rain interruptions, I finally finished this work! Thanks for all people involved in this project for their knowledge shared... Underwater test next week(I hope)
  6. Hello to all 2 weeks a go i took the plunge and bought the most suitable coil for my needs......its heavier than my other coil but the aim was : How deep can i really dig And how much ground can i cover So i mounted the beast on my carbon shaft after a few rubber washer adjustment i was all set.Tide was good weather was clear but it s dark after 5pm and the beach has mudflats and alone with limited network i won't take risk of getting stranded.Anyway it heavier and after a few adjustment with the SAT ,the gain and the delay i was all set. This coil is blasting targets really hard i pick up the knife at 50cm and dug a real crater ,not many targets except the silver earing and the find of the day a Silver Long cross penny circa ad 1272-1303 nothing really amazing but i could not find anything old about this area........... Next day went back to try the CTX on the right side on the spot and i pick up lots of fishing weights. Can wait to try the coil again maybe next Monday RR
  7. Detech dd coils say they can give good discrimination with Minelab PI machines, can anyone give a forum or reference discussing this fred
  8. I From morocco i have paper of treasure like this photo and i have other Place more than 30 with treasure in land i don't have detector for 1,5m to know the place treasure and make sure i have a EDS gold catcher but not working well always i find only ferrous target with Disc I need someone from morocco can work with me or someone help me for good Detector for 1,5m for Detect Gold
  9. Has anybody tried the Detech 15" DD Ultimate in the SW US like Gold Basin, Quartzite or Nevada? I recently purchased one because I didn't have a DD coil and wanted to have one in the coil arsenal. I've used it a couple of times in Central Arizona just to give it a test run and I am impressed with it's sensitivity and depth on small targets...that's all there is here...haven't got it over any large/deep targets yet. Neenad Lonic has done a few videos featuring this coil with very positive results (great videos, as usual, from Neenad). I haven't heard anything from anybody, though, using this coil here in the desert southwest. Not many use DDs with their GPXs I realize, but this DD seems to be a leap forward in DD technology. How about it? Anybody used one here in the SW? Thanks! Dean
  10. Wondering if anyone uses the Detech brand of coils on their Minelabs and how do you think they compare with coiltek and NF.
  11. Their SEF and Ultimate coils are legendary, as are some of their gold coils, but saw that now their making coils for the Makro Racers too: The Ultimate coil might do well on the Racers if you have a need for a large coil. HH, Brian
  12. Looks like an interesting detector. I'm interested in any info you could share! Thanks, Red
  13. I've decided to keep using the DFX on the dry sand, but I need a bigger coil. I'll have to be faster (competition X 3) when Irma scrapes about 3 ft of sand off Cocoa Beach next weekend. (We are hoping that Cocoa Beach will still be there to hunt). Since Steve won't let me have his Bigfoot, I'm looking at Detechs. Whites has the Detech SEF 12 x 10 on sale. Anyone have any experience with it? I read some reviews that say it reads bottle caps like pennies. Horrors, we cannot have that! Sometimes a penny turns out to be a men's gold ring. If it is so dumb that it can't tell a penny from a bottlecap then I will stick with the stock coil. Thanks, Ya'll!
  14. Just got an update from Detech stating they have a new 15 Round Mono deep coil coming out soon. At the moment the coil is being field tested in Australia, not sure if any in the States. Rege, do you have any information on this new coil? If so , is it a new tech coil that is competing against the Elites and Evo coils, or better? Fred

  16. It was my understanding that Nokta mentioned a while ago that the NOKTA IMPACT would be a unit built for Kellyco only, as a more or less exact copy of the original Racer, only on an ergonomic shaft as opposed to the terrible Racer shafts. As far as performance on the Goldfields go, both the CoRe, Fors Gold and Racer are left wanting badly. The Gold Racer I haven't used yet but will very soon, and even with it's new 'intelligent vsat, I don't hold much hope for it due to such a high frequency, limiting it to surface and just a few inches depth on smallish gold. The most interesting units are one that a lot of guys aren't picking up on yet, that is the release of the new Detech Chaser's in a few weeks. I guess Detech didn't get involved in all the cash for comments the other brands chose to push their units with. Even judging by the now discontinued analogue Detech units as the Winner and Plus and finally Reacher ....these early models absolutely kill Nokta/Makro units on both quiet and hot ground. So the new digital Chaser's are looking pretty good. The first one will be in 14kHz, then another in 28kHz, and the third in 4.8kHz like the Detech Relic Striker that puts an enormous amount of gain out of it's very large stock SEF coil. The Chaser will have a full coil selection to boot.
  17. Well the rains have stopped finally, the trails and primitive roads are drying up making driving even with a 4x4 posible. I purchased a Evo 17x13 and found these in some worked out patches. I was pleasantly surprised how well these Evo coils perform, but do to the size I sold it and bought 2 Detech coils to give a try. One thing I noticed with the Evo coil was that if you're in hotter ground you will be diggin a few more false signals you may not be used to. Second reason I am going with DD coils is that I have some areas with power lines close by which prevented me from hunting do to major EMI. Hopefully the Detech 15 " spiral wound DD will do the job and allow me to hunt this area. Anyhow the above pieces were all found with the Evo Coil.
  18. I have read several positive reviews including the strings on this forum on the Detech 15" Ultimate Spiral DD coil, however not much on the new Detech 8" DD. Does anyone know if the 8"DD is also spiral wound? My experience is the smaller coils are more sensitive to smaller gold. How does the new Detech 8" DD compare to the 15" Ultimate Spiral DD on small gold?
  19. Over 60 grams in the specie. One happy customer, this coil ended his Zed envy. GPZ 5000
  20. wondering if anyone new when the 11 inch ultra mono will be available in the U.S. Thanks for any info.
  21. Here is some info on new Detech "Chaser" VLF Detector. Soon available in US. http://detech-metaldetectors.ro/en/product/detech-chaser-14khz-vlf-metal-detector
  22. I was a bit surprised a while back when White's started directly selling the DeTech 13" Ultimate as an official White's branded coil. https://www.whiteselectronics.com/product/detech-13-ultimate-dd-search-coil/ "Very odd" thought I, but I figured it was some kind of one off experiment. The DeTech coil is compatible with the MXT, M6, MX5, V3i, etc. Now it appears White's has turned to DeTech to produce their promised smaller coil for the MX Sport, a 7" round DD coil. From https://www.whiteselectronics.com/product/7-detech-mx-sport-coil/ "Tested and vetted by White’s Electronics engineers and field team, we are offering a limited supply first-run of only 10 coils. Limit one per order." I have used the DeTech 13" Ultimate myself for other brands, plus other DeTech coils and they have done well for me. I guess I am just surprised to see White's turning to a Bulgarian manufacturer to produce coils they once would have made in house. In this case it probably allows White's to get a small accessory coil to market quicker than might have been the case otherwise. People have been wanting something like the small 6" round Eclipse concentric for the MX Sport, but the problem with that coil is it is a thick foam filled coil not very amenable to underwater use.
  23. DETECH has been testing a new 11in Ultra Sensing coil in Australia with some very promising results. http://detechaustralia.blogspot.com.au/2016_02_01_archive.html I will soon have a small order of these coils. If anyone is interested please PM me for a pre introduction special. Thanks, Rege
  24. Hi all, I've done up a video comparing some of the new coils. I'm an agent for Detech coils, but tried to be as unbiased as possible. Be interesting to hear your thoughts on the results.
