  1. Hello. I first detected back in early 80's with a Compass Relic Magnum 7. Got out of it and started back last year with a Tesoro Mojave. Currently using 3 Tesoro's, F22 and At Pro. I mainly playground hunt but will do relic hunts occasionally. Have a Youtube channel with same name.
  2. Ahhh Hell No !!! Lol ..........Hello my friends.... I have joined the forum !!!!Looking forward to finding treasure with everybody !!!!As you all know already I'm after the GOLD !!!!!.....LolHola mi amigos. Me he unido al foro. Deseando encontrar tesoros con todo el mundo. Como todos sabeis yo estoy tras el Oro !!!! .......Lol
  3. Hello from Bulgaria ! Here the grass is already higher than the shovels…That's why we're in the forums.
  4. Hello all, new to the forum, at least actively. I live NE of Huntsville, AL and formerly lived in E. TN. I mainly dig relics, but have enjoyed coin hunting as well.
  5. Hi Everyone, New to M. D. but I have been interested for a long while. Have a new Equinox 800 that I need to break in... Background in rock hunting (as a kid with my Dad) and enjoy the outdoors. Cheers N. Rody
  6. A heart felt hello to Steve and all the members who make up this site & forums. I have a great respect and appreciation for the outstanding class I have seen demonstrated and found here. Detector Prospector sets the standard in my book. Top notch class without a doubt. I have been lurking here since just before the time all the equinox rumors and hype got started. I still am and was a noob at that time with the first detector i ever owned, gold bug pro. As I was trying to figure out detector prospecting with my new gadget something just seemed off with the gold bug pro. So i checked into a service claim only to find out i was in possession of a counterfeit unit. No service or help needless to say. Thank goodness i had buyer protection and was able to get my money back, because the seller was not cooperating with me.Learn from my misfortune and only buy from authorized dealers instead of looking for a "steal of a deal." By that time the nox was in the hands of you guys and i was excited learning from you all that this was the machine that could both fit my budget and needs. So purchased the 800 i did. I was only able to start to scratch the surface of the capabilities of this machine during my first season with the 800 last year. I seriously want to develop my nugget hunting skills this season. I detect in very hot ground lots of magnetite & hematite , nothing like grabbing the bull by the horns to get acquainted. Therefore as part of my first post /question to you all, is i would like to know if there are restrictions on printing from the forums here? I looked around best i could to try and figure this out but am unable to find this answer. When i try to print something I can only get the first page and all the rest are blank? I detect in a remote / no signal or web area. It would really be helpful if i could print out the very helpful settings/ tips / techniques found here and then be able to apply them in the field under real life conditions to help with the learning curve. In closing I would like to add that i really enjoy this activity and wish i had started detecting long ago. On one of my local park training sessions I unexpectedly spent 3-4 hours entertaining grandmothers, mothers & fathers & children instead of seriously training. Had a 5 & 8 yr olds pestering me using pin pointer to help recover targets and were very happy to keep the coins found. Me sweating bullets while they were all jumping around the detector worrying they would crunch it. Not to mention in the blink of an eye picking up my digging knife. I stayed cool enjoyed them and also the 10 & 12 yr olds that followed next and numerous question from all. I am sure you know what they asked. what did you find? what are you looking for? what are you doing? on & on. I was a bit disappointed that i was unable to get in the training i wanted as i drove home and then it dawned on me. It was more than just about me. Doing this activity i enjoy also allowed me to do my civic duty to others. I felt proud to know that I was able to both provide and share a good time with numerous strangers. Something so missing in our divided and hate filled society of today. Perhaps if more people became detectors the world would be a better place. Respect to all James.
  7. Just wanted to thank you guys. I have learned SO much the last couple weeks from this site! My equinox 800 is arriving Thursday. It will be my first detector since I bought a lobo supertraq about 20 years ago.
  8. Hello everyone :) I'm just starting out in this hobby and i will be receiving my very first detector today. I bought the Equinox 800 a few days ago. I also joined the RRPC today as well. Thank you Steve Herschbach, Your information is very helpful thank you :)
  9. Hello everyone, I am basically new to metal detecting besides messing around with a family members detector. I found some interesting items but their detector is super old and cheap. So now I am looking to buy my own detector. I live in the foothills of NC which is basically all red clay soil. I am looking for coins and relics mostly because this is what I've found on the property. I honestly cant spend a lot on the detector (around $200-300). Due to the soil here being red clay it is super thick/dense and figured I would want a detector suitable to this if possible in my price range. So from what I've researched i have a few I'm looking at but i am completely open to other brands and models i may have overlooked. So far though, I'm looking at: BH disc 3300 (cheapest with ground balance), BH ranger pro, and the minelab 305. Any suggestions and input will be appreciated. thanks everyone
  10. Been artifact hunting for over 50 years. Aboriginal American artifacts, fossils, bottles, and metal detecting. Mainly detect Civil War sites, when not there I'm usually on the beach, but I'll swing my detector anywhere there's something to be found. Look forward being a member of this great forum and maybe contributing every now and then. Deep1
  11. just recently got into gold panning, bought 2 bags of paydirt and got a bad bite from the gold fever bug. joined the GSSN, already been out to one of their local claims. guessed i am hooked on the shiny stuff.
  12. Hi to you all. I'm from the south of England, I mainly detect farmland, woodland, and a bit of park hunting for something different. No prospecting, and I've yet to beach hunt, but one day I must try.... I mainly post on a UK Forum, but sometimes contribute to Dankowski's Forum, as user Pimento. I'm an engineer, who likes the technical aspects of the hobby, so that's where my contributions are likely to be. But it's always good to read what others in the hobby get up to, and Steve seems to have created a nice Forum here. So I'll be checking in regularly, even if my posting is infrequent. Thanks for reading.
  13. 1949er that is. Wish I had my new Nox 800 in 1849, but then again I probably would be recycled by now. Pleased to have found this awesome forum. A wealth of information and friendly people. A great place to start a new hobby in my 70th year. I just received my detector from Gerry’s Detectors. I ended up finding Gerry based on advice to buy from an outfit that will be there when you need some help. Amazon, eBay, and many other places did not fit that description. Gerry talked at length with me regarding my and a lifelong friend’s detector needs. Two days later I had my Equinox in hand. I highly recommend any other newbies save a lot of time and energy and consider using Gerry’s - he’s THE guy. I am excited yet sober about this endeavor. Learning new skills is not quite as easy as it once was. I spent most of my life destroying my hearing on turbine decks operating various power plants until I promoted to the quiet of a control room. I ended up in Northern California 15 years ago giving up my Chief Hydro Operator position and taking a promotion as Water Services Supervisor supervising operations of Frenchman, Davis and Antelope dams, and administering water rights over roughly 2500 miles of watershed. I am now in my 49th year a fly fisherman and wonder how many nuggets I have waded over, kicked, and otherwise nearly drowned on. Perhaps a method to my madness is emerging - hydroelectricity - fly fishing - fox in charge of the henhouse. ? As I type this intro, it is still raining. I think it started in February on a big snowpack. The Middle Fork Feather is still rising (more water). I anticipate Spring 2019 to be a monumental hydraulic mining season. Looking to tap my technical power generation, water, and river reading backgrounds to help me learn to find nuggets with Nox. I KNOW - a long row to hoe, but my friend and I are as pumped as the rivers are. Looking forward to the ride with you all.
  14. I haven't detected in a long time and was thinking of starting up again. Was thinking of subscribing to Western and Eastern Treasures magazine, which I used to get, but see they stopped printing hardcopies.
  15. Hi to all, I just signed up on Rick's advice so, I live in France and I mainly explore the beaches and a little land // and soon the nugget // Easier by here to find gold coins than nuggets ? I used many detectors the greater majority were PI of which 9 pulsepowers / the rarest and most powerful was goldquest ssv3 / aquastar / Goldscan 5 / Goldscan 5c I know Alexandre Tartar for a few decades and I test his different machines since whose famous Manta became AQuamanta and finally: Fisher Impluls AQ .... See you soon on the forum And some finds of the last months, with the impulse AQ
  16. Hello to everybody. Iam new here.? Thank you for the quick and simple registrationprocess. Iam a total newbie with detecting, honestly i newer did it before. A friend (hes from Tanzania)of mine and me want to search for some Gold in his country cause there are many places where you can find something. I think its the third biggest goldexporter in africa. Now i started to reseach about which detector we could use for our project. So i came to the conclusion to buy this a GPZ 7000 from minelab. At first i was pretty sure about this decision but now i found out there are also machines called soil-scanner or soils radar (here a website i found: https://www.idc-detektor.de/webshop/3d--radar--professionell/3d-bodenscanner--radar/ , sorry its in german). So i really need experts who can help me. People who have experience/practice with these things and can help to take a good decission so that i dont missuse my money for a machine which is not really working. Please help me also to use the forum in the right way. I dont what do disturb someone by posting something in the wrong place. Thanks for your support and special thanks to the inventor of this forum. With friendly regards. Erik
  17. Hello All: Been having some good opportunity for beach time but need something to do so thought I would get a metal detector Yahoo Bolo
  18. Busho

    Hi All

Hi everyone. New, naturally that's why im saying hi. Detect for gold and relics as a hobby. Have for 20 yrs now, maybe longer I dont keep count. Live in the bush in Vic Australia. Have a 5000 and 800 Eqx. Will ask a few questions on the Eqx later. But for now just hi!
  19. Glad to be here! Been out of the hobby for a bit, but back now. Just ordered a Nox 800 to get restarted with. Looking forward to checking out the forums!
  20. Hi all, my name is Paul. I've been away from metal detecting for quite awhile, a lot because of being a full time care giver for my mother for the last 3-5 years. 2018 was a terrible year of family loss, of both mother and brother, and now sister was diagnosed with Leukemia, and fighting hard. She is in remission, but still has a ways to go with stem cell treatment, hopefully this will cure her along with her ITP disorder as well. Sis, and I are looking to move out of the state of AZ, for favor of returning to our child hood roots of the Pacific Northwest, possibly Oregon or WA. Were tired of the Desert, even though we live in beautiful Sedona Redrock Country, we take it for granted, and want to get our feet wet again, and we miss the water terribly. I've been a flyfishing guide, for the last 7 years, but have had to put my fly rod down, for preparations to move. Would love to hook back up guiding again, after we move. With that said, looks like the end of the year, and we will be uprooting from here. I love metal detecting, and have wanted to get back into it. I own a Explorer 2 and have had other detectors in the past. Recently acquired the Equinox 800, and have started the learning curve, watching a lot of videos, reading the manual over and over, taking notes, etc... Have not put a lot of time on it, but have found a lot of clad. I got it to mostly for when we move, so I can hunt the beachs finally, which has been my main desire. Really like this forum. Thanks...

  22. I am relaying many thanks from the Fiji Kids to all who helped the Fiji Kids School Project 2019. All students are doing well in their studies. These kids are humbled that you would bless them.... and so am I. Continued prayers are coveted. Now, time to go get some more ?
  23. Been detecting for a few years now. Don't get out as much as I like but this year will be different. Just waiting for the warmth now. Thanks for having me.
