  1. Has anyone tried the Ausdom AH3 Apt-x low latency head phones. I just got them for my Equinox 600 and they paired right up with low latency. I then took them to a fairground that I have partially searched. My coin count was way down while using them. I will check them in my coin garden tomorrow. Just wondering if anyone else has tried them and their opinion. Malcolm
  2. I looked all through the Equinox tips here and didn't find anything that addresses this. I was detecting using wireless bluetooth earbuds that have worked fine for months. I walked out of range for a few minutes and when I came back the detector was running, the headphone symbol was showing on the control panel but there was no sound coming to the earbuds. I turned the detector off, turned the headphones off. Then turned the detector back on, the detector was working I could hear it, then turned the earbuds back on, the headphone symbol showed, the sound disappeared from the Equinox speaker but would not come through on the earbuds and it was the same thing when I repeated the sequence with wireless headphones that came with the detector. I also did resets on the headphones, re-paired with the detector - but the same thing happened. Any advice/help would be appreciated. Thanks!
  3. I'm looking at the B&Z audio enhancer for the GPX, the one like JP uses. Is anyone using a B&Z and what do you think about it?
  4. Hi i'm wondering if anyone has a metal detector headphone jack adapter that they could send me ? just send me a PM and ill give you my address thanks .
  5. I was about to pull the trigger on these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VD3M6M3/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza when I read that they are supposed to pair to a device separately. I might be misunderstanding, but it sounded like you would have two earbuds paired separately and work together, or is it one earbud paired to the device and the other earbud connected to the first earbud? I wasn't sure if the Equinox would simultaneously connect to two devices this way. Anyone have any experience with this type of earbud?
  6. My old headphones got all beat up over the summer plowing through the woods so I snagged a pair of Garrett Stow Aways for my Tejon. I was really surprised how good the audio really is on them. They do fit a little tight and are smaller but have a really great range of sound. Now I need to re-learn my sounds. Anyways I didn't spend much time out, maybe half hour or so and left the 10x12 coil which kills me in trashy areas but I did get a nice smooth hit on this little 18k rose gold ear ring with a few diamond chips 0.7g. Was only inch or so deep nothing to brag about.
  7. anyone know if these are good detecting headphones https://www.fleetfarm.com/detail/bounty-hunter-stereo-headphones/0000000203051?Ntt=metal+detecting+headphones&_requestid=2321948 or do you know of a cheap pair that are good thanks
  8. I think it would be a good idea to have a thread just for after maket Bluetooth headphones for the Equinox as there must be many many different ones out there if people could give their views on what they have bought and what improvement they have over the ML80's. I have bought these https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01A0EAYDI/ref=pe_3187911_189395841_TE_dp_1 advantage over ML80's much better low tones (no boom sound) better overall tones (tighter) they are super comfortable and have much larger ear muffs the head band fit is great if you have a larger head they are slightly lower in volume but not by much than the ML80's.
  9. I purchased an Equinox 600, 6" coil and 1/8th to 1/4th adapter. It arrived on 08/19/2019. The detector worked without headphones. It worked with the wired headphones that came with it, the headphone icon appearing on the screen. When I attempted to use the 1/8th to 1/4 Minelab adapter, that I also ordered to allow me to use my Sun Ray headphones, things went wrong. Machine was fine, but with the adapter in place, my headphones were dead. The speaker on the unit still worked. The headphone icon on the screen did not appear. I re-attached the adapter several times with the same result. There was a problem somewhere. Things happen. It probably was nothing big. I called Minelab America, expecting another adapter would be sent, or ____? Minelab didn't answer, just a recording informing me my call might be recorded. I left a message. Later that day I called again. Same recording. I did not leave a message. I did not leave a message the two times I called the next day, when the recording was still answering my call. I called the dealer and he was, and still is, very responsive. He provided the email for Minelab service and maintained contact with me. I emailed Minelab about my problem on 08/20/2019. I made four calls to Minelab America and never reached a human. I left a voice-mail message with my contact info, no response. There has been no reply to my email. Though the Equinox may be a fine machine, I can live without it and it will be a long time before I consider another machine from them. I qualify for the Veterans discount, which made for a great price and was considering purchasing one for my girlfriend. The machine was sent back.
  10. Apparently, my wireless pairing button does not work... I have tried every combination to get the thing to show...but, it won't. Detector on... WM on wm rapid blink on PUSH the wireless, water-proof button-NOTHING several Factory resets done also.... The trouble shooting guide says to ….CONFIRM the wireless setting is set to on"...??? where is this setting? FRED
  11. Rather than wait for the official waterproof Headphone Adaptor Cable 3.5mm (1/8-inch) to 6.35mm (1/4-inch) lead i made my own with a 1/8" Male To 1/4" Female Headphone Lead and the WM08 blanking screw that comes with the unit i just drilled the blanking screw out and glued the 3.5 (1/8) end in then used a silicone washer for a watertight seal easy.
  12. I finally got round to replacing the battery in my dud WM12. I run twin WM12`s and the good one would charge in about 1 hour but the sluggish one could take 5 or 6 hours or longer. I`m not real good with the fiddly little stuff but this was pretty straight forward and now both wm12`s charge in the same amount of time. The only 2 things that may be drama, you need a bit that fits TT10 Torx screws and somehow I had one of those, and the battery I bought the black and red wire were about ½" too long and I had to bend the wires a bit to get the plug to go into the socket. The top picture is how the red and black wire looked before and the bottom picture is after I fitted the new battery. You can see I had to bend the wires. And don`t believe you`ll get it in three or 4 days. This mob is in England and it took about 3 or 4 weeks to get mine.. If you get this battery from these people the model No. is CS-MLC100SL and the part No. is 0303-0036 Good luck finding the battery anywhere else, this was the only one I could find. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Replacement-Battery-For-MINELAB-0303-0036/302942371755?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
  13. Does anyone know if an 800 will connect to a phone or any other Bluetooth app or device that records video or audio? It sure would be interesting to record directly from the detector. I guess the best way is the old way of just putting the sound on the detector speaker and then capture the event that way. Mitchel
  14. Just FYI.....On 8 Sep, I posted my review of the LS Pelso waterproof headphones for the Equinox...link below I waited to get my own however until the new version with the longer cable was delivered to Kellyco. They came in this past week and I immediately picked up a set and tried them in my test garden and backyard. I was honestly hearing more tones and more clearly than ever. The volume was much more than adequate. They fit over my hat better than others I've used and were very comfortable as I stated in that initial review. The extended cable made a world of difference as they have a 24" straight section that connects to the control box and can be routed and attached under the detector shaft all the way to the shaft's back end where the coiled section begins....a big improvement! My first impression of these headphones was not only confirmed but enhanced...so much so that I picked up a second set for use on my CTX 3030! Kellyco now can supply these headphones for multiple detectors: Equinox: https://www.kellycodetectors.com/catalog/ls-pelso-underwater-headphones-with-long-cable CTX 3030: https://www.kellycodetectors.com/catalog/underwater-headphones-compatible-with-ctx-3030 Kruzer: https://www.kellycodetectors.com/catalog/underwater-headphones-kruzer Disclaimer: I am not an employee of Kellyco nor am I under any obligation to Kellyco for these reviews. 15. After spotty performance from the included wireless headphones, I took Steve’s suggestion and picked up a pair of Sunray CTX Pro Gold head phones. I connected them to the WM08 module using the ML Nox adapter pig tail. The difference in audio performance between the Pro Golds and wireless headphones is night and day. I had a lot of connection issues with the included wireless headphones, when they did connect, audio through them wasn’t much of an improvement over just using the speaker. After 20yrs in the Army, my hearing sucks. I had a difficult time hearing that “disturbance in the force” pause in the threshold you sometimes get from a tiny nugget. The WM08 has worked absolutely flawlessly, instantly connects when powered on. If you only use the WM08, I don’t think the “CTX” version of the Pro Golds are necessary as the speaker shuts off regardless of which of the three modes is selected. I am currently using the official ML adapter pig tail to connect them together, but they work equally as well with a cheap eBay adapter. I am blown away by how much more I can hear, it’s a completely new detecting experience for me. I have used, ear buds, Grey Ghost water proof headphones, stock wireless head phones and now the Pro Golds. To my ears, and for the type of detecting I do the Pro Golds just blow everything else away.
  16. I’m waiting for my Anfibio multi to arrive and was curious if anyone has tried wireless earbuds with the Nokta detectors, I have an equinox 600 and use them sometimes, also an Avantree clip on transmitter with my Tony Eisenhower Waterproof headphones, it’s nice to have options, would also like to make an adapter so I can use Tony’s headphones underwater with the Anfibio.
  17. Hi looking at buying some Bluetooth ear buds, I hate the large cans. I have read the 600 still has Bluetooth. And to get good lag earphones. Iwas reading about Aptx. Am I going down the right track. Thanks
  18. I really don't want to spend $150+ on a set of waterproof phones since I don't do a ton of water hunting. Anyone tried these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/LS-PELSO-WATERPROOF-HEADPHONES-FOR-USE-WITH-MINELAB-EQUINOX600-800METAL-DETECTOR/273858263213?hash=item3fc33978ad:g:CIQAAOSwIbtb6pHb
  19. I mentioned this last year and will re address the subject. Has anyone compiled information of real signature so as one can listen ti clipping and signatures that a re funky in the different tone modes. Although I have been a detectorist for years, many of the new detectors sounds tell more of a story than some are used to. I am wondering if anyone has such a compilation. It seems many love to post their finds on you tube but forget that the sound is just as important. But they keep the headsets on which does not help the cause.. We are used in most cases to what some coins and jewelty sound like, but a clipped ring id different. Perhaps some one might know of such a tool. As always thanks for helping. PROP
  20. After reading all the headphone threads I was expecting everything to be hard. I decided to try today anyway and plugged my regular ear buds (bob marleys) into the nox 800 and they worked fine, no external speaker, sound in both ears. Then I tried cheap ones we buy in packs of 4 for $10 for spares and those worked fine too. Now my plan for waterproof headphones is to just buy cheap waterproof ear buds. I also found some m12 cable connectors that I think will seal up over the earbud jack for a waterproof and secure conection to the back of the nox. I have to order and try that though. That wasn't at all what I was expecting after reading all the posts so I though I should mention it. Steve
  21. A couple of months ago I put out a call for the parts list for the WM12 because my original WM12 was taking forever to charge. At the same time I bought the replacement battery, I also bought some heavier charging cables because I have about half a dozen devices that all use the same cable. I bought cables that were listed as suitable for external hard drives and they were about 6 bucks each. Because I kept changing cables on different devices I don`t even know now what cables came with the WM12. Anyway, with the heavier charging cables my original WM12 now charges QUICKER than the newer WM12, so I don`t need to fit the battery. Maybe, if your WM12 is getting sluggish charging, it may not be the battery, it may be the cable breaking down. Just a thought. Dave
  22. Still can't seem to get my @%^&&&() Black Widows to work wireless but OK now wired. Has anyone had issues with putting the module close to the phones? Also mine seems to be falling on it's face in moving salt water, but that is another thread. Dave
  23. These are available at some dealers now. Headphone Adaptor Cable 3.5mm (1/8-inch) to 6.35mm (1/4-inch) Part No. 3011-0369 $40.00 Minelab Equinox 1/8" male waterproof connection to 1/4" female non-waterproof connection I plan on wading a lot with the Equinox and this creates a waterproof connection to the detector itself. The cable is two feet long and reaches just about to my shoulder. Main gripe - the straight connection once it makes that 180 degree bend gives up some length. To prevent stress from pulling on this constantly the cable should be affixed to the detector itself so the cable does not get stressed repeatedly where it makes the bend. This is a good solution for people who want to hunt in the water but do not need to put their head in the water, and so who do not need the waterproof headphones. The cable also mates directly to the WM08 module for those who wish to use it for that purpose. Minelab Equinox Parts & Accessories Page Do be aware there is a compatibility issue as regards the Equinox external speaker. If headphones and adapters are not wired correctly the speaker will keep going even with headphones plugged in. Here is the Minelab article on the subject. As far as I know this applies to the CTX 3030, GPZ 7000, Gold Monster 1000, and both Equinox models. I use Sun Ray Pro Gold (CTX version) headphones which are wired to work properly with the Minelab units. Minelab headphone wiring diagram

  25. This is a rather simple question. The adapter cable from Minelab part #3011-0369 is 30 inches long and comes with a Velcro strap about 8 inches long. Has anyone figured out a good way to use this strap to secure the cable to the detector when adapting the cable to the back of the control module. It should come out under the armrest. I am sure there is a correct way. Thanks.
