I have a slight issue with my 11'' coil. Almost from day one it does not pin point in the center of the coil. It was about 2'' toward the nose, not that big a deal at the time. Now it hits anywhere on the whole edge, which means I have a 11'' pinpoint spot. This is very hard to find center target now. Also it is becoming knock sensitive on grass and gets a little chattery even on good solid targets. This coil is only about 4 months old. That being said who should I contact first, Nokta or the service center in Georgia? Anyone have any experience sending stuff back?

Let me start off by saying it's been about 40 days since I last detected. I've had a run of bad luck that started on June 3rd when a bad wind storm brought down a 90 foot oak tree that hit part of my house. Fixing the damage and sawing up a 50 inch diameter oak was not on my list of things to do, but it got done with the hobby put to pasture for a while. July 4th was my first day out for only an hour and I only found a 1919 wheat penny( I was happy). Between the 10th and the 12th I have about 7 hours swinging. I have been hunting a spot very close to my house and found a couple of cool items. First was a little bronze sleigh bell, not sure that it is, but it looks like one to me. It weigh's 1.04 oz. and is a total of 1 1/4 inches tall. Second was what I think is a 1950's/1960's derringer cap gun. I've never saw one like this. Third was the most interesting to me, it was a weird bronze ingot type of thing. I dug this at close to 14 inches. It looks old and weigh's 4 1/2 0z. Almost looks like it was cast in creek sand/gravel. Anybody that has a guess let me know, this was a 18th century site that has been turned into a camp. Last but not least was all the modern coins an a bunch of trash, I was never so glad to dig trash after that much time away from detecting. I'm quite proud of my trash that's why I took a wonderful photo, Ha Ha. Oh and I forgot to mention the murderous 4 Raccoon's that killed my chicken's, went from 13 to 1 1/2 in one night. I sure hope the 1/2 chicken survives, she's badly wounded. good news is only 2 raccoons left. Hope you guy's enjoy looking, not as good as some of my finds but I was quite happy with only 7 hours out. Sometimes finding junk can still put a smile on your face !!!!

Before the sun broke out in full force today I did a quick run about 1 1/2 hours to test out the Nokta waterproof headphones on my Multi Kruzer. Ran it at 19khz looking for small jewelry, found 2 1/2 earings, cruddier one might be gold brighter one is plated. This pond is brutal with iron as you can see the black chia pet looking thing on the side. It is a hard drive magnet I stick in my scoop to catch nails and bobby pins. You can see some of the rocks that also stick to it. My GB was low to mid 90's so ended up using Gen Mode in the quieter areas and 3 tone for the most part. Headphones are little better on audio than my Garrett waterproof ones, audio sounds similar, maybe bit less tinny but you do need to kick up the volume. I usually run the machine on 3 but use 10 on these. Vibrate mode proved to be useless because of all the iron in the ground there as it just constantly runs. Bottom line if you got a Kruzer or Amphibio, well worth the investment if you plan on splashing around.

Got tired of my machine flopping over so I made this. Fit's Kruzer and Amphibio series with or without optional external battery pack. Will give it a good beat down and if all works well will bang out a few if anyone is interested.

Today started out a little slow at an old church ground, after about 7 cents and 1 1/2 hours I packed it in. Not wanting to give up so soon I decided to try a fair ground near an old fire house. I used to go there as a kid. Thinking I would find a ton of trash I put on the 9 inch to help with all the aluminum slaw. While I was trying to remember where the Ferris wheel and tilt-a-whirl where i stumbled onto a dime and penny. Thinking I needed to move up the field 100yds, I Was swinging as I walked not caring to much as this field is big and I was hitting a million signals. Half way I got a strong silver signal and dug a really nice Silver and Amethyst Ring about 2'' deep. After a few clad and an 1 1/2 hours later I got bouncy gold level signal. Normally I would not have dug this, but something just sounded strange and strong. Good thing I did because, It was a 14k and what I believe to be ruby and small diamonds. Thinking this is the best day I've had in years and knowing It was my night to cook dinner, I headed back to the truck swinging wildly and smiling ear to ear. About 75 yards from the truck I got another really strong silver tone. I almost passed out when I popped a silver and gold Tiffany ring. Days like this are very rare for me and the MK has made detecting a lot of fun. Topping this day might take a few years.

I did a friend who is a small metal detector dealer a good deed last week (at least for him) by buying a used Makro Kruzer 14kHz detector from him so he could at least make a sale from his home business. I have always liked Nokta Makro products and I had a Multi Kruzer previously and really liked it but the Equinox came along...........and so, I wanted to give the Kruzer another try. I already have a Racer 2 and really like a lot about it, especially its threshold based all metal mode, even though it suffers from the same issues as every other single frequency detector I have ever tried in the moderate to high mineralization in my area which is severe up averaging on what seems to me anyway to be shallow targets 3" to 5" inches deep. I hoped against hope that the Kruzer really was going to be somehow better than the Racer 2. Actually it is worse. I should have learned this lesson after trying dozens of otherwise great detectors with exactly the same results. So, I have tried a zillion settings combinations with so many detectors!!!! Don't feel bad Nokta Makro, you are definitely not alone meaning I get similar results with XP, FTP, Whites, Garrett, single frequency Minelab and Tesoro products. So that is just about everybody! I was hoping I was doing something really stupid. I am perfectly capable of that......... So here is a question I asked on another forum about the discrimination function built into the Kruzer and Anfibio. In my Kruzer manual it says...."Note: DISC. setting works inversely proportional to depth up to level 15 in all modes. In other words, as the DISC. is increased up to 15, stability will increase but depth will be reduced and vice versa. Above 15 though, both depth and noise will increase"I hunt in areas with lots of magnetite iron particles and high mineralization. I usually set my Kruzer discrimination level on at least 4 just to tone down the chatter and keep it from hitting every microscopic iron particle. It will really sort of get quiet at 10. According to the quote from the manual, am I losing a lot of depth by setting it at 10 opposed to setting it at 0 or default 3? Also, one drawback to using the Kruzer in higher mineralization (the mineralization graph is maxed out or one level away most of the time) is that the numerical target IDs are all over the place even on 3" to 5" good coin sized targets. So am I understanding that the stability mentioned in that quote refers to target ID stability? Would running a discrimination level from 10 to 15 along with raising the ISAT level a bit make coin and jewelry targets down to 6" deep have better target ID? The answer to my question at least from my standpoint is that "it ain't happening" and nothing I have tried including all of the things in the manual don't help. Just for fun, instead of driving myself crazy doing tests in my test garden (the results unfortunately were painfully the same) I took the Kruzer to a local park and put my Vanquish 440 in my backpack. I did a little target comparison on wild targets. I was using the Kruzer in 4 tone mode with gain on 80, disc. on 7, ISAT on 0, Iron Volume on 2, Iron Tone Break at 10. I also had 3 tone set up in a similar way. I ran across a target that jumped around a lot between 70 to 84 on the Kruzer and pinpointed it at 4" using both modes. It sounded pretty good and I figured it would be a beaver tail, corroded US zinc penny, a copper penny or even better a clad dime. I got out my Vanquish, fired it up and left it in absolutely stock Jewelry mode with the gain at about 3/4th. The Vanquish read 12-13, which is a low conductor US nickel, pull tab, can slaw or something gold if no iron is present. I checked the target for iron (none) and dug it. The target was a 3" deep US nickel. This happened over and over whether the target was a low or mid conductor. Some complain about the Nox and Vanquish iron falsing. I got a low 90s signal on a shallow coin sized object on the Kruzer that was continuous as I circled the target. I hoped for a US quarter or silver object. No hint of iron at all on the Kruzer even at the edge of the coil. I grabbed the Vanquish and in Jewelry mode got a broken signal that came in between 18 and 25 with an occasional 38. Those jumpy numbers are usually a dead give away for an iron target on the Vanquish and Nox if the audio is crackly and drops out. I knew what the target was but dug it anyway. Rusty crown bottle cap at 4". At least I know when there is iron in or around the target when I'm using the Equinox or Vanquish. I like Minelab detectors a lot. I would also love to be able to use and not waste my time and money on some beautiful detectors by other manufacturers. I guess I just need to move somewhere else. thanks for reading and for any ideas you might have.Jeff

Hey Team, First post, long time lurker. I am right on the brink of buying my next detector. I previously had a GMT w/nugget coil shooter 4x6", which I had dialed in very well, and it detected small good very well. Where I am from everyone uses a GB2, and has good success - they are however hard to find in Canada, and I am leaning towards the 24K/GMX. I like the fact the GMX is waterproof, and I can use it for underwater sniping, as well as never worry about weather and or moisture. It comes with the 6.5" concentric coil, which I have never used, but in my understanding would make it even MORE sensitive then the 4x6" DD coil solution (at the cost of mobility). Do you guys think the new 24K/GMX w/ 6.5" concentric would be a better overall unit for small placer gold then the tried and true Gold Bug 2 w/6.5" coil? I don't want to do this twice is possible. The ground I am in is in the East Kootenays of BC, and is not too hot, but does contain some "spicy" rocks and very jagged bedrock as a platform. Most of the gold I need to detect will need "depth" as utmost importance. It has been picked over very well in the past, and I really need something that will shoot a little better then a hot GB2. The GMX platform comes currently w/ the 6.5" concentric, and the 4x6 new DD coil for $1140 CAD all in. Would the Gold Kruzer perform equally to the GMX/24K platform? It is about $300.00 cheaper for the entire 2 coil waterproof package. Anyways please try to confirm my belief beyond Steve's signature which says he kept the 24K and got rid of the other VLF's lol. Also Aureus's review of his 24K had me sold when he said he was turning old ground into "new" ground. Cheers! 🙂

Deep mode and Micro mode. I haven't been able to get out yet. Snowing today. In my tests I like them both. On my 10" test dime I don't see a lot of difference. A slight edge to the deep mode. Deep mode does scream on shallow targets which could be an advantage on micro jewelry hunting. What are your finding on both modes jewelry hunting and micro jewelry? Thanks...Rick

I've watched Callabash diggers video on the AF-35, running on the Anfibio, but are their differences between the Two machines that affect depth? I have recently come across some places where I've maxed out in depth. I'm finding a lot of newer coins at about 2 inches and some 1960's + coins and pull tabs at the 9 to 10 inch range. Not sure if a 60's era coin and pull tab can sink to that depth without some help. (topsoil added). I have the 9'' concentric and the 11''x 7'' DD. I get about two inches in depth difference between the two and find myself liking the 9''over the DD. But the unmasking on the DD is a little better. I pretty much can tell if two coins are on top of each other, or two or three targets together. My question is will this coil give me the extra depth that I (think) I need, say another 3 to 4 inches? And will it perform the same unmasking ability that the other MK coils have? I know That soil conditions play a big part but I'm looking for some info from anyone who actually has used this coil on the ground and can share the good with the bad. Also this is about as large as I want to go due to weight. Any opinions will be greatly appreciated. Nokta/Makro 13” x 13.7” AF35 DD coil for Anfibio/Kruzer

Deep mode with 0 disc makes it very sensitive and deeper to tiny gold as with tests on an earring I would like to see if it's possible for an update adding notching. This is the first time I ever wanted notching. I would like to run the Gold Kruzer at 0 disc in deep mode and notch out what I don't want. Notching would be my disc if It had that feature. Would probably be good for nugget hunters also because 0 disc in deep mode makes it very sensitive and deeper. This would be a great addition. So for me notching would be perfect for jewelry hunting and I thing it would be good for nugget hunting also. The Gold Kruzer is a great water hunter for jewelry including micro jewelry. Maybe Nokta could add this.

If anyone is interested, here is how some of the targets listed in the chart's vdi #'s change based on frequency rather than the same set of vdi #'s across all freqencies. This is invoked by holding the - and + arrows at the same time. Some may find this handy when running in parks or high trash areas and need a wider spread on low conductors in the 19khz.

Forced myself to go out in the 38 degree + 20 mph winds to do some testing on the new 9 inch concentric. First place was an old park near my since passed grandfathers house I haven't been there since I was 11. I only brought a screw driver to dig, and didn't want to get in trouble even though the park rules didn't mention detectors. I really couldn't dig any deep targets but the 9 seemed a little off. I was hitting iron nails in the 60's +, not all the time though. Ran 5 - 14 - 19 khz It seems settle itself in 14. Tried multiple settings of disc. and gain in each khz. This 9'' almost runs like a DD which has me wondering if its not a true concentric? I'll get a 15 to 20 reading. spin get a 45 to 54 reading, spin again and get a 4 to 7 reading, Also was getting a pretty good sized halo effect on most targets. I'm not sure if this is some of my red clay soils causing this, plus it was extremely wet. I'll dig the target and get foil most of the time. I understand that running for silver and gold will get you to dig most targets. Has no problems with the clad signals but copper seems a little weird. If you run the gain in the 80's you loose a lot of depth, most times I was sticking to 92+ gain. Off to the next spot, 10 miles away. Pretty much the same thing, weird copper signals, clad good and the halo effect. This could be user error, I'm very new to this type of machine but I'm not getting this from the 7x11 DD. But both coils unmasking ability is incredible!! First photo park finds, Second photos are the last site, notice the clads that are fused together a clad penny and nickle and 2 quarters and a penny this MK could tell that they were 2 coins and 3 coins together, they all registered as separate targets (not used to that). Did anyone feel like they lost a little confidence in a coil when they first tried it? Not overly disappointed, but think more practice might be in order. Any Thoughts?

Last Sunday I detected a new property which has me discouraged. This place is an early farmstead that has a 1650 structure still standing on it. The property was once about 800 acres and is now reduced to about 10. The soil has my multi kruzer going crazy. so far I detected about 1 1/2 acres. I'm dealing with not dozens of nails and small iron and slag but hundreds of this stuff (no joke). There is not one square foot that my detector is quiet and i'm getting readings on the display from 10-12 to 57-65 to 84-91 all in one square feet and every square foot. I've dug multiple times and found targets ie nails, 22 bullets, lots of brass and zinc all in the same hole. My question is how do you guy's deal with a place this hot ??? I have tried 5 - 14 - 19 frequencies and dozens of other settings still the same thing. Don't get me wrong i'm finding stuff but do you just dig everything and let your ears rest later? I had high hopes for this property but I think the 20th century farm practices has this place ruined.

Hi all, I'm new to this site and the world of non analog detectors. truth be told I was a die hard Tesoro fan. since Tesoros sad demise I chose to purchase a multi kruzer and jump into the unknown waters of modern technology. I would like to thank all of you for helping me make this decision. This forum is a wealth of knowledge for someone like myself who is a weekend warrior detector. Anyway after two days of experimenting I think I have the basics of this amazing machine. I cant believe how deep it goes, I found an early button at 14 inches, I thought it was a false signal but dug it anyway. I experimented with 2 tone but found the 3 tone to be much better. All of my problems in the past were bad and wet soil This detector doesn't care about any of that. I've never been able to disc out multiple targets at once 3 tone does it like magic. Today I hit a site that that my other detectors go mental on and found a 9 inch silver dime. But to my point and enthusiasm If anybody has some setups please post them. Gain, notch, tones ect. would be very helpful to new guys like me trying to figure out the multi kruzer. Has anyone used this coil? I'm thinking about trying it in the water and I hip mount the box so it might work ok. It's said to weight 503 grams which is light for a big coil. There should be a good depth increase over the 9.5x5 dd coil on gold rings. Or even hip mounted would be to hard to swing in the water. Nokta/Makro 13” x 15.5” GK40 DD coil for Gold Kruzer

I got another Gold Kruzer to lake hunt. Still cold and snow in northern MI. The first Gold Kruzer I had I used disc at 6 and set tone break at 22. In Micro mode it was noisy but worked ok. I thought it was just a noisy mode. I was playing with it in the house and with disc raised to 22 the Gold Kruzer ran quiet in Micro mode. Why is that? With disc 0 and tone break 22 very noisy. With disc raised to 22 quiet. Will it go deeper and separate better with disc at 0-6. Or no difference except noise or no noise. Haven't tested it yet. I'll probably run disc at 22 and set tone break at 44. Low tone for small gold and high tone for bigger gold.

Hi all, I am looking to buy an additional coil for my MK 14kHz to get some extra depth while in the field. I cannot decide between AF35 and KR40. Could you please advise which coil shall I purchase to add some depth for coin, jewellery and relic hunting and why? I would really appreciate your answer! Thank you in advance!

What is the Gen tone is that like a vco or all metal mode?

I am considering a Gold Kruzer for jewelry hunting. Mike, I know you were on the search for the ultimate "micro machine". How do you like your Gold Kruzer now that you got all of the issues worked out? Is it hitting the stud earrings and chains? Input from other would be appreciated as well. Thank you!

Makro has added the 15.5" x 13" DD coil to the Makro Gold Kruzer search coil lineup. The Gold Kruzer comes with two coils - the waterproof GK26C concentric search coil 26 x 14 cm (10.23" x 5.5") & scuff cover plus the waterproof GK19 DD search soil 19 x 10 cm (7.48" x 3.94") & scuff cover. There are now a total of four coil options for the makro Gold Kruzer - coils for other Makro and/or Kruzer models will not work on the Gold Kruzer. Hi! Help determine whether it is worth buying this metal detector? It is difficult to determine because it is not cheap. Previously, I wanted to buy an XP Deus 22 or another new cool metal detector Makro Multi Kruzer. Found on the Internet comparison Minelab Equinox 800 vs Makro Multi Kruzer. Now I do not know which of the three detectors to choose :) Does someone already have experience of using them?
