The rubber boot cover for the trigger on my Gold Racer fell off somewhere. Are they sold separately?

The ground is mild. I buried a 14k gold ring 3.77 grams at 15", 14" then 13". Equinox 800 w/ 11" coil got a nice hit at 14" with coil raised 2". Neither would hit it at 15". Used multi tone Park 2 & Gold 1. Equinox would hit the ring in the single frequencies also. 40 khz was nice. Settings. sensitivity 24, 2 tone, recovery 4, iron bias f2 0. Anfibio Multi w/ Mars Discovery 13" would hit the ring at 13". 14" no hit. Setting, 20 khz, Sensitivity 92, Deep mode, 4 tone and 2 tone. Disc 6, tone break 0, isat 0. Anfibio w/ Nel Superfly 11x12 would barely hit the 13" ring. 14" no hit. I was surprised the Anfibio didn't go as deep as the Equinox on the gold ring. So with my test the Equinox is the best gold jewelry hunter over the Anfibio for my lakes by 1"+. Not a great difference. I will be hunting this summer in the lakes with the Equinox and the Anfibio will be my backup. I would like to know how the Tarsacci would do in this test with both coils. Would it be able to hit a gold ring similar size as the one I used in mild sand at 14"? I hope someone does this test and lets me know. A gold ring at 14" in a sandy beach is a tough test for any detector. For the Equinox to pass this test is impressive. Rick

Will Nokta get a pi detector this year? The first news I had that nokta would release a new pi detector was on this forum 2 years ago? This week I saw a similar story on a Russian website. Is there any new news that that will happen this year? I am interested in buying from Whites TDI sl after having sold mine 3 years ago so I don't know whether to wait, maybe several years or buy a TDI.

When I first got the Anfibio Multi. I read/heard of "D2 mode" of settings being used for Relic Hunting. Term was used on boards across the pond. That I can't fully understand terms being used and, they don't speak red-neck. Slight language barrier 🚧, to say the least but, in past I've gleamed info from. Well, several months later. I still find myself basically using 2 tones, pretty much at basic set-up. I do good with this but, reading the boards again. I'm ready to explore new settings. Can anyone break "D2 Mode" settings down in the simplest terms for me? Has anyone else ran across this discussion before? Point me in right direction at least?

Curious if it handles the salt at all being such a high frequency.

Had another good day detecting a rather large hay field. I was using the new superfly coil on the MK, and most of my finds were all ammo related. I found 12 keepers which means no plastic. They range in age from 1920's to the 1940's. the best one, which I have never found before was a Winchester Nublack made from 1905 to 1938. The others were REM UMC 1915 to 1942, Winchester repeater 1896 to 1938, Winchester Leader 1933, Sears unknown 1920's to 1940's, Western Xpert 1914 to 1932. If you ever want to find the head stamp dates (Cartridge-corner.com) is the place to go. I hit up on some buckshot and a older rifled slug, AKA Pumpkin ball or as my dad would say Punkin ball. The rifled slug was developed by Wilhelm Brenneke in 1898, Karl Foster designed a similar slug in 1937 and patented in 1947. They are the ones you find in most brands today. Of course I found the wonderful 22. This round was developed in 1845 by Louis Nicolas Flobert and introduced in 1887. This was the first rimfire it was in 6mm. Union Metallic Cartridge Co. perfected the 22 in 1884, And "Voila" we have the best selling cartridge in the world. I saved the best for last because they have a great history. Finding three colonial musket balls in one field for me just does not happen. Two of them look fired the other was a drop. That ball is in beautiful shape, you can clearly see the sprue and the casting marks around the middle. I believe they are for the old and well distributed Brown Bess. It was produced from 1722 to 1838. Over 4,000,000 were made. This gun was used in every major conflict from the American Revolution to the American civil war. So the next time your out and find some boring old ammo, You just might find some cool history in your hand.

Found a rare undetected park this weekend (I'm assuming). It was started in the late 20's. The first day,Saturday was 36 degrees and windy. My buddy with the nox 800, found around $5.00 in clad and a 37 merc. and a 1940 WL 1/2 dollar. I hit nothing but clad about $4.00. Sunday was way colder, but a way better day for finds. My buddy again hit up on 3 merc's and a small silver ring. I redeemed myself by finding a 1918 merc a 1959 rosevelt and a 1964 Kennedy 1/2. I also found a lone buffie, (my first one in years), game galaxy token, $3.50 in clad and what I believe to be an Oldsmobile key ring ? Not sure of the era on this, but it has a serial # on the back. Seems to be made from brass. Very cool find I think. We stopped digging penny's within the first hour, this place was filthy with them. I'm looking forward to some more good finds here soon, because we only hunted an acre out of about 30.

After seeing a new post from others and NM about some new accessories, I started to ponder the old naming contest about a new multi freq. detector. We all have posted our thoughts and hopes on this new multi and a PI. First question, Did anyone win the contest? The date of start for said contest was September 21, 2018. That's 1014 days since its start. I'm not the smartest, But you would think you had the product developed and ready for the winning name, To give you some time for marketing. Lets say a year for printing, adds and a selling platform. (Frustrated) I know we all have said it just takes TIME, We want to see what the competition puts out first so we can make a better product. Blah, Blah. A lot of people participated in the contest hoping to actually name a new detector. (How cool would that be). It feels like NM left a lot of people hanging with a great marketing idea that just won't happen. I'm hoping this is not the case, I would love to see one of our members name a detector. I love my Kruzer and wouldn't trade it for anything,But after drifting through some of NM's Time lines, I'm wondering how much longer? Wow I can't believe I got out yesterday to dig. It seems like work and the stress of things in 2020 took a toll on my detecting experiences for quite a while. I wanted a new coil for the MK and saw a post Kac made about the Nel Superfly, So I said what the heck I'll give it a try. This coil is 6 grams lighter than my 9 inch. I must say this coil is amazing!!! great depth and way better separation. So I went to give it a spin on a site I hunt that has some modern and 18th century history to it. (ball fields and farm fields). I swung for about 5 hours in the 35 degree weather, and found a bunch of coins,(1941 penny, 46 nickle) shot shells, suspender clip, fishing reel, and a fragmented old bell. I wish the bell was whole, because it was about 2'' in dia. The reel perplexes me because of the lack of water in the middle of a 20 acre field. Overall I had a really nice trip out, I was starting to forget how detecting can clear your mind. PS Joe D can you please send some of the Florida warmth up here to PA.

2021 is starting out to be Not to bad (fingers crossed). Yesterday started out kinda cold and damp, but warmed up to around 54 at 11:30am. I told my wife I'd be back by 3 for Sunday roast chicken and mashed potatoes. I decided to hunt a patch of woods that had an early house that was razed in 1973. (second run at this place). The ground here is infested with iron, aluminum and copper flashing. I entered in and saw what seemed to be the skull of the Devil, a little off putting to say the least. It was the oddest deer skull I've ever encountered. Thinking this might be a bad omen I proceeded on. 1 crap target, 2 crap targets, old trap tag (OK). I've always had good luck detecting deer trails, so hit the closest one. The first 5 feet and boom, a solid copper coin tone. First coin a 1896 Indian Head. Good day already accomplished. Fifty yards away I got a weird 47-56 id on the machine, I almost didn't dig it, but it had that good coin tone. At 9 inches I had my doubt's for a coin, But when it popped out at 11, I almost fell over. This turned out to be an 1864, Which would explain the odd ID numbers. The rest of the time was uneventful, but that really didn't matter. I had two old coins in the bag and a great Sunday dinner and the Devil didn't ruin any of it.

Can't really decide between the 2 of them!! Could someone with experience or knowledge among these help me? It is going to be the only detector I will own for quite a period of time that's why I am so skeptical about it! Also I am a new member in this exiting hobby! Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty much a blind squirrel when it comes to the beach hunting thing. This trip totaled about 6 hours over the course of 3 days. Thanks to all you beach members, I've managed to pick up on a few things. I was in the dig it all mode, being not that confident in my sand skills. Did I mention that I hate bottle caps? They sound even better in the sand!!! I was mostly hunting the wet/dry edge and was just enjoying the early morning sunrise. This day I was on a tear of sinkers and caps. Still having fun being away from work though. At 9:00 am my wife came down and joined me for a before breakfast walk. She asked if I found anything good and answered with the usual, Nope just crap. We walked another 20 feet and I got a really nice strong soft tone. Thinking sinker, I started to dig with my homemade plastic scoop. Let me just say DO NOT have your wife with you when you find something really good, It never works out in your favor. In my scoop was a wonderful diamond ring (wasn't to sure at the time) After I rinsed it off a little and felt the weight I knew I had something good. Oh yes she promptly removed it from my death grip!!! After getting home from our trip I took it to a jeweler friend, who offered me $5500 for the diamonds, said I could keep the platinum. Turns out it was a vvs1 1.2 carrat main stone and 8 very nice 2mm stones. Lucky for me my wife said she would keep it (god help me) I haven't seen it since.

I finally got my old 11'' replaced. This new coil is working great and I couldn't be more happy. Thanks to Dilek all my problems have been resolved. Yesterday and today were the first times I have given it a good run. I decided to hunt a farm house yesterday. I usually think the finds are getting low. Well low and behold I was wrong. Yesterday was good and bad as posted on the coin and relic forum. Today was even better!! same farm plus a kids camp. In two hours at the farm I scored a 2 oz. sinker, a bunch of odd lead, 2 wheat pennies, a girl scout pin from the 60's and two fabulous 1952 and 1957 roosevelt dimes. Around 1:30pm I decided to hit the camp. In another two hours I scored $1.05 in clad (not much) and a very awesome 1810 to 1830's button. inscribed on the back is Treble gilt Standard colour. seems to be a british button. Most of the clad from the 60's and 70's were at 6 to 7 inches deep. this button was around 3''. I did dig a bunch of deep trash always looking for the gold rings. The only thing is the id numbers are a little off, they are a couple of points off, but that was an easy learn. I'm thinking the old coil was bad from day one and today just proved it. I can't wait to hit some more of my sites and see what I missed with the old coil. The MK has yet to let me down and has been a great machine in the short time that I have owned it.

The Garrett Apex will be out the middle of next month but we don’t know just when the N/M Lightning will show up. We do know it should be out before the years end . Garrett been giving us a sneak peek of the Apex . It looks with what I’d call a door knob on the face may be saying it’s maybe not totally digital. Like so many I’m wondering if it will be multi frequency are just be able to select what frequency you prefer to run . Garrett will have to pull out almost what I’d call a miracle to overcome the obstacle like the Nox. Now here comes Nokta/Makro with their new detector the Lightning and they know it’s got to be better if not equal to the Nox. I see myself waiting on the Lightning but it don’t make my dream come true I can always get the Apex. I keep forgetting a great low cost detector I don’t have and that’s the Vanquish. I already have the Simplex + and I think it should add another + with the 2.77 update. Being my Birthday is on the 15 th of May I really don’t like cake and who knows I may be eating crow . That’s if Garrett comes out with something great and at a great price. Garrett I truly wish you the best with the Apex. Chuck PS I know most of you want to know why I’m using the name Lightning. Nokta/Makro TMD-101 metal detector OK, this is kind of cool. The main target market is utility and police departments and such, but I think there are lots of other people who might like a simplified version of the Nokta/Makro Anfibio 14. The Nokta/Makro TMD-101 is 14 kHz, fully submersible (10 feet), with built in rechargeable battery and wireless headphone capability (proprietary). The main difference between this detector and the Anfibio 14 is a simplified control set and a really simple display that personally I think is just great. The controls are just Mode (two choices, all metal non-motion or two tone ferrous/non-ferrous disc), a sensitivity control, and a volume control. The unit also has a frequency shift function. The TMD-101 is in ground tracking at all times for ease of operation. The Anfibio 14 sells for $679 and the TMD-101 for $594 Nokta/Makro TMD-101 display and controls The TMD-101 has two search modes. A monotone static non-motion all metal mode for maximum depth. This mode will offer as much depth as is possible for a VLF to deliver, but has no discrimination and due to the non-motion aspect only suitable for hunting relatively small areas. Constant manual updating of the preset threshold is generally required when using non-motion modes. The Dynamic Mode is a two tone discrimination mode. Ferrous items give a low tone and the meter deflects to the left. Non-ferrous gives a high tone and the meter deflects to the right. Interestingly enough they use a prospecting type icon for the non-ferrous indication, and I was thinking this would be a pretty neat VLF gold prospecting unit. But good for anyone wanting basic ferrous/non-ferrous discrimination. This may be a sleeper relic detector. For the small people in your life! One of the few detectors I have seen that is designed for kids without being an insult to kids intelligence. And waterproof - amazing!

The Coin Finder CF77 looks like a nice simple machine, has anyone here used one? Does it compare the Fors Relic? Nokta/Makro CF77 metal detector

Finally a thaw here had a chance to run this detector in the iron at some old sites. Very impressed with the new coil --makes the machine considerably deeper than even the Impact and Kruzer. Superb audio as well--I can really hear everything in the ground--set at disc zero the heavy iron areas become obvious telling me where to buzz around for masked targets. Or I can just jump it up to 4 or 5 to knock the spikes out. With this detector I can hear anything non-ferrous mixed in really well. The 3 Tone mode is also great--it's speeds up the response to bring up even more signals from these worst sections. Never really felt the need for a pinpointer but with the way this machine gets down into the spikes I will need one now. Really liked the overall performance of this detector and will be out there again heading for the worst sections soon as it warms up a bit. cjc
