Silver or pure gold is low ton in TDI beach huner, but other low ton railways. Beach Hunter is wrong with TDI Pro? TDI Pro is not low ton.How do you set up the others?

Interesting to recover so many religious medals on 1 trip but "Faith" was on our side. The best of the 5 is the yellow gold with diamonds in the middle, but I have to give credit to my brother as he saved that one. The sterling pieces are very nice as is the other ones of lesser metal, but with the same powerful meaning. The TDI Beach Hunter did its job and I have faith this machine will do well for many. Steve, If you feel this post needs to be in the Jewelry Forum, I understand. Some folks do not feel religion wear is jewelry..so I walk softly.

I may have an opportunity to buy a Whites TDI SL with two rechargeable NINH batteries, one AA battery pack, jimmy sierra elliptical dual field mono coil, miner john elliptical waterproof coil, 2 large TDI round open coils, and a Whites padded carry bag/case. Would it be worth buying since I have an Equinox 800 and a Teknetics G2? He's asking $750.

I thought I'd copy this from my other thread which was buried down on the second page.......is this okay Steve as I don't want to duplicate if unnecessary? "Just got back from the beach....in one word.........awesome. Some observations; It is the deepest detector I have ever used on the beach (in the past 25 years) by running the higher voltage pack. It is the first time I have ever detected (with any detector, including the Minelab PI's) my gold wedding ring at a measured/buried 18" deep. The US nickel can be heard at 16" in buried wet sand...but with GB OFF. With GB ON it drops to 12"-13" ! My machine is much deeper with GB OFF across all targets.....the rock solid threshold with GB OFF is unbelievable with no loss of sensitivity. Even with the coil swept through shallow salt water at max gain and 10us......it is so smooth. I don't know how White's have done it....maybe a new batch of the latest flux capacitors...... I tried with GB on but in clean white sand, there was no perfect GB....it was close but just a slight positive signal as the coil was lowered to the ground...but the depth loss was significant with GB on and slight falsing with higher GAIN. None of this is a problem with GB OFF." Tony PS.......on the real deepies (edge of detectability), there is often a one, two and three way signal but not a four way signal if swept from left,right and up and down.

My TDIBH got here door to door from the USA in 6 days which is great....thanks again to Gerry at Gerry's Detector's ! I did some basic tests on my back lawn (which is devoid of any metallic targets to at least a metre). I did notice that no GB was needed which is what I would expect but interestingly if the GB was left at "4", the detector would barely detect my gold ring. As soon as the GB was turned higher or lower, then the ring was detected at great distance. I know I can run with no GB (straight PI) but the depth was slightly improved with GB engaged. I am wondering that when I hit the beaches, which down here are generally mineral/black sand free, where should I leave the GB if it's not required? I will most likely bury a target and dial in the GB (assuming it's not actually needed for a proper GB) which gives the best response but I am very wary of a setting that might not see the target ! I am new to the TDI SL platform so any tips is much appreciated. Thanks, Tony

I have been expecting this one and oddly enough I am pretty excited about it. "Why oddly" you ask? Normally I tend to go for pure horsepower. Instead in the new White's Sierra Pulse Pro what we have is simplicity and killer bang for the buck, in a lightweight, well balanced detector. In a nutshell the Whites SPP is a TDI SL ground balancing pulse induction metal detector with the control set focused down to exactly what you need to hunt gold nuggets. And best of all White's broke through the $1000 price barrier offering the first ground balancing pulse induction (GBPI) metal detector for a manufacturer suggested list price of only $995!! And that, my friends, is something to be excited about! The only caveat is the name. Pulse Pro implies this is some kind of super powerful professional PI. Don't let that mess with you and lead you to believe the SPP is something it is not. There is nothing new here per se. But again I am excited by this detector because I am a bit tired of heavy overly complicated expensive GBPI detectors. In my opinion this is just what the market needs. A White's customer can walk out the door after cutting a deal on a GMT and SPP together and have on heck of a fantastic combo gold getting setup that will get most gold under a wide range of conditions for way less money than most single GBPI detectors currently on the market. The SPP is locked into the hot 10uS pulse delay mode for best gold sensitivity. I took my Whites TDI SL with both the stock 7.5" dual field coil and the 8"x6" NUgget Finder coil, as well as my Minelab GM 1000 out and tried them on some small 1.7 grain and 7.4 grain pieces of lead i use for testing. The minelab found both easily and at over 2" on the small one. The Whites wouldn't pick up either one with either coil. I am liking the Monster more and more. But was wondering? Should the Whites do better than it did?

This guy uses the TDI on beaches and finds a ton of gold... Also, good video si hablan espanol. But he does everything in both ingles and Spanish. I thought it was cool to see a side by side on both the TDI SL and TDI Pro. Sounds like he is switching to just the SL for now. Whaddya guys think?

Greeting everyone I was looking for a coil to use on the beach with my TDI SL. Mainly I was looking for stock 12 "dd but I did not find anything used, I have the 7.5dd and I consider that for hunting on the beach it is too small. I found online the" scarab mono 18 "x14" from pmcoils. I have not seen any information on this coil, I was mainly looking for a DD because I had the dual field of surfmaster for a while and it went very well with those coils, but I could give the mono coil a chance if he found any positive information. . If some use this coil or know some information, I would appreciate your opinion. Thanks

Hello everyone. I have a question about the model of a 7.5 "white coil for the TDI, it does not have labels that differentiate the dual field of the mono. I am a beach hunter and I think if it is the mono I would not do it well. I have seen images online and the only noticeable visual difference is the color of the cable, one is darker than the other. Any ideas?

Josh Bohmker helped us shoot this video for the TDI SL. He and his dad are refining a technique of hunting pocket gold down in Southern Oregon and I was able to join him and Dennis Dickson for a day trip. Afterwards we all hunted in the rain for a couple hours. Found an old stamp mill and the diggings but the cold rain seeped into our bones pretty quick. Did pan around the mill and managed some specks but we'll save the nuggets for the next trip down...dit

ran into an old friend yesterday he asked what I had been up to told him I do a lot of metal detecting and he said he has a whites TDI that he says he has used vary little he ask me if I would be interested in purchasing it from him because he says it just sits there collecting dust I asked him how much he wanted site unseen and he told me he would let me have it for $150 he says he has had it since 2010 said he purchased it new,I do not know anything about whites to know if thats a good price for a used one or not. is there different versions of that particular detector that I should be aware of when I go look at his or is there only one version are there any potential issues the TDI had from that year that I should be aware of also i am supposed to go look at it on Monday so thats why I am asking don't want to waist my time if its not worth it,its a long drive so just trying to decide whether to take the drive or not Thanks for reading

An acquaintance has asked if I'd help him find some shotguns he buried several years ago. They are wrapped in oilcloths, sealed in PVC pipes (~3 in = 7.5 cm diameter) and buried about 20 inches (half meter) deep according to him. He says he can show me the approximate location within about 10 m. If all this is accurate it seems like an easy task.... Then again, he also said someone in his family (without him being present) tried to find them with a detector and couldn't. That could be due to a lot of reasons as I'm sure you are already thinking, but my concern is that they may be buried more deeply than he remembers. Which of the following would be your first choice? 1) TDI/SPP with 12 in round mono and 16 V battery pack. 2) X-Terra 705 w/15 in Coiltek 3kHz. 3) Gold Bug Pro (19 kHz) w/15 in Nel Attack. 4) F75 black (13 kHz) w/11x7 in^2 coil operating in cache process. Assuming he has the time and patience I'm going to have all four with me to do a comparison, but I'd like to start with the one that gives me the best chance. Your advice is appreciated.

Just with the Minelab PI coils being used on the TDI's. I've heard that once you get over about 14" with some coils the TDI's struggle to run them regardless of pulse delay settings etc? Was wondering if anyone has had any success with a larger coil on a TDI? Most, in Australia at least, seem to have success with smaller coils on the TDI series like NF Sadie & 12" x 7", 14" x 7/9" etc. Only ever heard of one being used with a 16" Coiltek but never seen or heard back any results with it, although I see one bloke said he tried one & then sold it going back to a Coiltek Blitz 14" x 9" which runs fine at 10uS. They seem to do well on small gold with the smaller coils here @ 10uS.Was wondering if this is why Miner John/Razorback are making coils specific to the TDI & Minelabs I.e. they have a 14" round for the TDI but it's not compatible with the Minelab PI's. They do however have other coils specifically for the Minelabs.

Have been given a TDI SL and I'm not that keen on the 11' spider mono coil attached . ( mainly the sticks and debris that get caught up ) Detecting in heavily mineralised ground in the Golden Triangle Australia and it was suggested that I purchase a used 12"/14" Coiltek Goldstalker mono round . Any thought on that please.!!!!! I run a SDC2300 and soooon a Equinox ????? . The TDI will just give me a little extra depth to go wandering away from the diggings . I think that is what the last full retail price was before they were discontinued. To be fair, sometimes (often?) Ebay auctions turn into grudge-match ego infused bidding wars. (This happens in face-to-face auctions, too.) My rule-of-thumb is to use the 3rd highest bidder's final bid to determine value in highly contested auctions. That price here is $1255.55. I guess White's just wasn't selling enough of these or they wouldn't have ended production. The TDI-Pro certainly has its diehard followers/supporters/users, but I guess you could say that about most decent products.
