  1. Hi! Help determine whether it is worth buying this metal detector? It is difficult to determine because it is not cheap. Previously, I wanted to buy an XP Deus 22 or another new cool metal detector Makro Multi Kruzer. Found on the Internet comparison Minelab Equinox 800 vs Makro Multi Kruzer. Now I do not know which of the three detectors to choose :) Does someone already have experience of using them?
  2. I’ve been a long time lover of small coils hunting a new location for the first time. I’m wondering why none are being made . It could be I’m the first that ask for one . I don’t look to find it at my door anytime soon. All the relic hunters and one coin hunter in the bunch I can see why I’m sucking hind teat. Chuck
  3. A friend and I spent a couple days swinging around a couple junk filled ghost towns. I am very familiar with the Xp deus. I had also brought with the new to me Xp ORX. I spent my time swinging both the deus/ORX with the 9 Hf, 9x5Hf and my LF 11x13 coils. I found some good stuff and was really able to put the new ORX to work. I kept the ORX equipped with the 9x5hf coil. Deus with 9Hf coil. Also have my 11x13 on a straight shaft to easily switch to that. These site have been hit hard over the last few years by me and a ton of other people and have seen 3 to 4 large group hunts. Heres a few pics
  4. Update DEUS 5.21: This update 5.21 corrects sleep power issues with the DEUS headphones on version 5.2. The DEUS 5.2 can sometimes place the headphones into an unwanted standby mode as they can be turned on during charging, resulting in a slow battery discharge. Download Updates XP Deus metal detector
  5. soooooo, you guys that have both Equinox and XP Deus/Orx, which one has an edge in separation in trashy park-type areas, comparing same type/size coils of course.....
  6. Wow, BeachHunter. For me anyway, that seems rather counter-intuitive. I wouldn't have expected a high-frequency coil or machine to be able to maintain stability AND deliver depth to any substantial degree, in a salty wet-sand environment. You are getting stable operation AND good depth? Steve
  7. Bharp Detecting Published on Mar 10, 2019 Compared the x35 9" coil and the High Frequency Elliptical coil on both XP ORX and the XP Deus using the same settings on 2 different targets next to iron and coal. The first target was a Confederate GA State Seal button and the second was a piece of ornate Colonial gold.
  8. I keep hearing dont buy an orx u can get a deus for the same price, i cant find a deus for that price unless its with the ws4 controller. I know u czn get an orx for about 799, can u get a deus with out the ws4 puck for 799 to 899?
  9. Hi All I have an XP Deus that I use for land detecting for just about anything and everything. I started with the 11 inch LC coil and did very well with it. I purchased the round 9 inch HF coil and love it. I am doing awesome with it hunting on land in parks and schools and fields. I was thinking of picking up a XP Deus Elliptical coil for the occasional nugget hunt as I already own the Deus. Of course, there are other options like the new minelabs. the Goldbug and others. Any comments or thoughts or observations on how well the Deus HG elliptical coil performs on small nugget or flake hunting? New to the site and to this forum, so your constructive comments will be greatly appreciated.

  12. Just wondering if there will be an update or an addendum ( preferably in pdf format ) now that we are up to version 4.1 and some of the details are now out of date ? If there is a complete new version, can you please, please, please include an index ? Great book and very helpfull
  13. What does everyone think fake ? Says release Sept 2020.
  14. This is not news per se since it happened last year. Still, it is a big deal because the menu additions in my opinion make lower price versions of the XP Deus without the high price controller much more palatable. The version 5 update includes some new features to the WS4 and WS5 wireless headphones: Reactivity TX Power Automatic Ground Tracking Frequency offset (35 frequencies with the new X35) Iron volume Audio Response XP DEUS V5 improvements to WS4 & WS5 headphone controls These new functions are in addition to those already available via the headphones: Discrimination Sensitivity 4 Frequencies Ground Balance Choice of 1 – 5 audio tones plus, VCO Pitch and Full Tone option. 10 Factory Programs plus empty slots for user custom programs. LCD target identification Volume control Coil change menu Battery level indicator This all means that the $799 XP Deus Starter Package now has a lot of capability that was previously lacking without the high price full controller. The Starter Package includes FX-02 Wired Backphone Headphones + WS4 Display + 9" or 11" X35 Coil with Telescopic Pole MSRP: $1100 Introductory Price: $799 Control the entire detector from just the WS4 Display module alone Adjust sensitivity, discrimination and ground balance Choose your Frequency: From 3.7kHz to 27.7kHz Adjust your volume and select multi-tones Choose your operating program WS4 Display may be used as a Wireless headphone with included headband XP DEUS Starter Package XP DEUS Ws4 "on ear" headphones and WS5 "over ear" headphones. Both have the same menu functions. WS4 LCD display and controls - new functions are secondary controls listed below XP DEUS V5 menu options for WS4 and WS5 headphones So what is the catch? Numerous small options are missing and only available from the main controller, but the big one is the inability to make software updates without the main controller. Anyone buying a Starter Package wants to make sure the unit is pre-loaded with the latest stable version of the software, currently Version 5.2 Other features inaccessible from the headphone controller include the pinpoint button, silencer function, adjustable multitones, notch/multinotch, ground notch, and the four non-motion modes. With the new XP ORX being offered as a "lower price alternative to the Deus" I decided it was time to find out just what the capability is of the low price Deus options and how they end up comparing to the XP ORX. The fact is the base version of the Deus is actually $100 less than the XP Orx so this would seem to be an interesting line of inquiry.

  16. I have never noticed the different design on the current WS4's compared to the older ones - different shape and utilises the same type of push buttons as on the main controller vs the previous touch pad controls. Was this introduced in conjunction with the X35 coils or did I miss something?
  17. I have had my XP Deus for almost 2 weeks so assume I know next to nothing in 10 hours of detecting. I have had my Equinox 600 long enough to have hundreds of hours so I know a little. Today I thought I would set up both detectors with small gold jewelry programs. I wasn't expecting anything special. It was 28 F here and I did not want to dig any targets deeper than 4 inches and I went to a public park soccer field that I have never detected before. The Deus was set up like this: software V4.1, 9" HF coil, slightly altered by notching GM Power program saved in slot 12, frequency 14,414, disc at 6.1, sensitivity 80, iron vol. 3, reactivity 2, audio response 4, 3 tones, volume 7 on WS5 headphones, GB 87. I had two notches set up. The first was from the 0 to 35. The second was from 62 to 99. So most of the small gold range, small aluminum, beaver tails and nickels were detectable. The Equinox 600 was set up like this: firmware updated, 11" coil, Field 1, multi frequency, disc at 0, sensitivity 13, iron bias 0, recovery speed 3, 5 tones, volume 20 on Avantree low latency bluetooth headphones, threshold 9, GB 3, I also had two notches set. The first was from -9 to 0. The second was from 14 to 40. So most of the small gold range, small aluminum, beaver tails and nickels were detectable. I detected roughly 1/4 of the soccer field in 1 hour with the Deus and had a really nice, quiet walk. I found two 4" nickels, plenty of small aluminum, and a young person's good quality stainless steel and tungsten ring. Dug 23 targets none over 4" deep. I did not skip any detected targets meaning those that had at least one audible beep. The Deus was a pleasure to use. I was careful to not walk too fast, kept my swings low and smooth, and overlapped swings at a medium speed roughly one complete left and back to the right swing in around 2 seconds I detected the exact same area with the Equinox 600. Immediately I began to detect numerous targets. I counted 47 in all at the end of the hunt. It was getting really cold so I dug 15 of the 47. Most were small aluminum can slaw in the less than 1/2" size at 1" to 3" depth. I Also recovered 4 complete beaver tail pull tabs at 3" to 4". I also recovered 1/3 of a crushed aluminum soda can at 2" depth. I used the same swing speed and walking speed as best I could. This really surprised me to say the least. I need someone who owns both of these detectors to help me understand why these similar settings (or maybe I am a complete idiot!) resulted in one detector completely missing over 40 targets (I heard absolutely nothing). Obviously I am an XP Deus newbie so this topic is about my ignorance more than anything else I'm sure. I am not trying to engage in an XP Deus vs Equinox 600 discussion. I just need some settings advice. The only person I know with both of these detectors where I live, recently had a heart attack (he's okay) and I don't want to bother him with this. Thanks in advance for anyone that responds to this topic. Jeff
  18. I myself like a smaller coil than 9” for high trash . I’d like to hear from you the Deus user opinion. Chuck
  19. Released 9/13/2018, the version Deus 5.2 Update solves some bugs and improves the connectivity between coils, remote control and headphones. NOTE: The HF and X35 coils do not need to be updated at the moment, so they will be ignored during the DEUS software UPDATE. 8/2/2018 – Version 5.1 improves the connectivity between DEUS and the MI-6 Pinpointer as well as the connection speed. 20. Hello all, new warm body here in Albany, GA with hurricane Michael in the background. I started with White's XLT and now have XP Deus with ws5 headphones and standard coil.
  21. At the XP website New X35 search coils for XP Deus
  22. Published on Aug 15, 2018 - The X35 coil is the latest edition to the XP Deus metal detector range - It offers the detectorist 35 frequencies and better stability plus a new boost mode for deep targets.
  23. If I bought the 11 inch X35 would there be any reason to keep my original LF11 coil. I see the X35 covers all four of the LF frequencies plus adds one more. I would like the boost feature on the X35 in the lowest frequency is the reason I would buy one.
  24. I started checking more into a mention of XP DEUS Version 4 updates, especially this badly translated information from a French website: So I started Googling and there is a Facebook page for the app at https://www.facebook.com/godetect/ Right now it is mainly just a finds recording and track mapping app much like the Minelab XChange system, but phone based. One photo really caught my eye however. It apparently can use the phone location services plus orientation features in combination with the app to superimpose past finds onto a view of the terrain. The prospecting applications for this alone are obvious. After my pretty much blowing them off last year XP is really getting my interest now.
  25. Over the years, the XP DEUS has continued to evolve, especially with the FREE software updates allowing the user to benefit from our advancing technology without the need to buy a new machine. XP have been regularly introducing new accessories, such as the MI-6 pin pointer which connects directly to the DEUS, let’s not forget the super light and incredibly stable new HF coils which have taken the Deus to a new level. This month XP are pleased to announce the upcoming release of 3 new search coils for the DEUS accompanied by a new FREE version 5 update which will also be available soon. New XP DEUS X35 search coils The X35 search coils: Designed around brand new electronic advances, these new high performance and versatile coils will allow you to choose from a wide range of frequencies ranging from 3.7kHz to 27.7kHz. In total there are 35 available frequencies, based around 5 main frequencies that are quickly accessible. A new Boost mode is now an option on frequencies 3.7Khz to 4.4 kHz and can significantly increase detection depth on highly conductive targets, such as large masses and large Silver coins. For added performance on such targets we recommend the larger coils such as the 34/28 cm (13” x11”) or the 28cm (11”) round coil. These new coils will be available as options at the same prices as the previous coils from the end of July 2018, and they will be supplied as standard with the DEUS from September 2018. X35 coil main characteristics: Total of 35 frequencies – 5 main frequencies with 7 wide offsets 3.7 to 4.4kHz, 7.1 to 8.4kHz, 10.5 to 12.4kHz, 15.2 to 17.8kHz, 23.5 to 27.7kHz Selectable frequency offset without loss of performance. TX power adjustment is available on all frequencies and offsets Special Low frequency TX Boost feature: Normal or Boost option – The transmitted power has 2 selectable levels when using frequencies 3.7Khz to 4.4kHz. The BOOST mode significantly increases the transmission power of the transmitting coil, allowing greater detection levels if the soil conditions allow. TX boost is a special mode, the battery life of the coil may be reduced down to 6 hours. The overall battery life of the x35 coil has improved on most frequencies by +10% to +40% High frequencies 23- 27.7kHz – Excellent sensitivity to low conductive targets and small targets. Better overall stability The X35 coils are available in 22cm (9”), 28cm (11”) and 34 / 28cm (13” x11”) and will work with the DEUS in version 5.
