  1. The ORX remote control is available to purchase by itself. Would it be compatible with my Deus WS4 and WS5 Headphones HF Coils and shaft? Thanks!
  2. Since early August, XP have started selling the ORX with the 9" and 11" X35 coils as a stock option for less than $700. The package deal comes with the wired back headphones. Some online dealers that have these in stock are selling this bundle for substantially less than the lowest advertised price or adding in incentives if you ask. Personally, I never enjoyed using the ORX wireless back phones. I have a really big head and those headphones hurt enough to distract me after about 45 minutes no matter what I did. If you are looking at an ORX and the great all purpose frequencies provided on the X35 coils now would be a good time to investigate these deals. Jeff
  3. Running the machine in a high iron relic environment..
  4. I’m a Relic hunting for coins and thinking about getting the HF Elliptical coil to hunt with. I have the ORX with the the HF 9” round coil but thinking about trying the elliptical one . Like to hear from anyone who may have used it for coin hunting.. Thanks ahead of time. Chuck
  5. I’ve been a long time lover of small coils hunting a new location for the first time. I’m wondering why none are being made . It could be I’m the first that ask for one . I don’t look to find it at my door anytime soon. All the relic hunters and one coin hunter in the bunch I can see why I’m sucking hind teat. Chuck
  6. I decided to hit a hammered colonial site where the last several times there with the Nox 800 no significant non-ferrous items were found. Every couple trips I might find a cuff button. So was running the ORX with 9” round hf coin in coin fast 28khz, but switching to coin deep at 54 kHz., reactivity 3, sensitivity 94. Found 1792-1812 period American naval button ( undetermined variety as yet). With 13 5-pointed stars and Philadelphia back mark. Also found cuff link, outside of large 2-pc ball button. Thesewere all found within 45 minutes, and other targets were going to be found for sure. I’m totally impressed with the machine. So much so that last night I ordered a 9” XP X35 coil, because folks? The XP ORX is a keeper with a long future. Deepest target ( squarenail ) at 1 1/2. Punpointer lengths. (15”-16”)
  7. Gary Blackwell done another great video on the ORX In wet beach sand . The video is posted on the Skill School with all the others. Chuck
  8. Want to know if it will fit inside my camo duffle backpack and don’t want to have to fit the coil on at the site of use. Could somebody measure this? thanks
  9. Hey fellas...new to this forum, but frequent some of the others. Thought I'd check this one out. I have the Orx headed my way. Maybe get some ideas on some good settings for Civil War hunting? I hunt mostly in Central Va...soil conditions where I hunt is usually not so bad. Plenty of time to learn the detector for now until the fall of the year...my time to hunt. Thanks for any ideas and good luck hunting.
  10. Does anyone use the X35 coil on the ORX? Any opinion on it compared to the HF coils? I got smoked today by a friend. He was using the 11 inch legacy coil (with the Deus) while I was using the 9 inch elliptical coil with the ORX. I realize coil size was a factor but he was getting tones on objects that I couldn't even pick up. We were running the same frequency, reactivity, etc, just to compare. Any thoughts?
  11. took my new xp orx with 9 x 5 elliptical coil out for a walk yesterday in the northern az goldfields heres 2 from a heavily worked area with the orx this dog will hunt quiet smooth & ez to ground balance the small 1 is under 10th of a gram the orx gets it done i like it
  12. A friend and I spent a couple days swinging around a couple junk filled ghost towns. I am very familiar with the Xp deus. I had also brought with the new to me Xp ORX. I spent my time swinging both the deus/ORX with the 9 Hf, 9x5Hf and my LF 11x13 coils. I found some good stuff and was really able to put the new ORX to work. I kept the ORX equipped with the 9x5hf coil. Deus with 9Hf coil. Also have my 11x13 on a straight shaft to easily switch to that. These site have been hit hard over the last few years by me and a ton of other people and have seen 3 to 4 large group hunts. Heres a few pics
  13. XP are always working on ways to improve our products, we are pleased to announce the new revised coil charging clip offering an advanced durable Polymer and upgraded charging pins. New XP polymer charging clip
  14. I found these buttons yesterday with the ORX. Two of the buttons were "D" buttons and one was a "V" button. While I'm glad the ORX hit the targets I'm unsure how I was able to tell if they were digable targets. Granted I don't have a lot of hours with the ORX but I'm having significant problems trying to identify good targets. The target ID numbers seem to be unreliable and the tones seemed to be slurred once you get past the iron tone. I'm not knocking the machine but was hoping for some tips on the "how to" of recognizing the "dig me" targets. I have the HF Elliptical coil and I'm detecting in fairly trashy areas. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks for looking! Any chance XP will push an update that may help with TID and tones?
  15. I found my first silver coin with the ORX this week. A nice 1853 half dime!
  16. I hit various areas and in the big fields been using the AT Pro with a Nel Big 17x15 coil. Buddy of mine just got the AT MAX with stock coil and goes just as deep as the Pro with the big. How does the ORX compare to the MAX? Does it have an All Metal Mode? I like the idea of something super light and the choice of frequencies as the AT Pro doesn't find really small gold targets with it's low freq.
  17. Only apply this update if your previously connected WS Audio headphones will not pair when you turn on your remote and headset. This update 0.1.1 corrects the loss of pairing between some ORX remotes and the WSA wireless headset. To obtain the ORX UPDATE please send us an email at: XP Orx metal detector
  18. soooooo, you guys that have both Equinox and XP Deus/Orx, which one has an edge in separation in trashy park-type areas, comparing same type/size coils of course.....
  19. Has anyone had this issue? Occasionally when charging my elliptical HF coil it will not start the 3 second on/3 seconds off indicator once it is charged. I changed it for hours yesterday and the most it would do would be that the light would occasionally flicker. Finally I took it off charge and the controller indicated that the coil was fully charged. The coil seems to function fine other than that. Thanks
  20. who would have the best price on an XP Orx?
  21. Bharp Detecting Published on Mar 10, 2019 Compared the x35 9" coil and the High Frequency Elliptical coil on both XP ORX and the XP Deus using the same settings on 2 different targets next to iron and coal. The first target was a Confederate GA State Seal button and the second was a piece of ornate Colonial gold.
  22. It finally stopped raining for a couple of days and I was able to get to the farm and try out the new ORX on a couple of old tenant house sites. These old sites date from around the 1930's or so based on the coin dates. They also sit on or near older sites so you are never sure what you will find. Coin deep was too sparky for me on these sites due to the massive amounts of iron and nails. I switched back and forth between Coin Fast at 15.2 and 28.8k, standard settings with iron tone "on". I found the 28.8 frequency to be my favorite. Once while running in 15.2k I noticed a small aluminum brad on top of the ground (about the size of a match head). In 15.2 I didn't get even a peep out of it. I then switched to 28.8 and got a nice loud tone. The separation in the extreme trash was excellent! My better finds for the day was 3 Wheaties, 1 War nickel, 2 Mississippi tax tokens, 1 Louisiana tax token, part of a broken spur, a broken tent tensioner, and one D Buckle. Thanks for viewing, MT
