Found in WV submerged in river water. Very dense, weighs about 20 lbs. Black/reddish tint, smooth to touch. Any ideas on what it could be?

Hello, I used pan to find alluvial gold in the river. But recently I have become interested in searching for gold with a detector, on a hillside, but so far without success, so I need your advice. And so I use a Garrett AT Gold with Garrett AT sniper 4.5" coil, I surveyed a hillside in a gold-bearing place, where in creek I found gold in the form of 3-5 mm flakes with a wash. Therefore, I decided to go to the hillside with a metal detector in search of gold nuggets. But I couldn't find anything with a metal detector. But in my personal opinion, the place is still promising. I am adding a photo of quartz from this hill. Help "come" to the first gold on the hillside with a detector.

I got onto a new permission a couple times over the last 3 weeks. It is an early 1700s farm, with 40 acres of fields and woods. I have basically just been kind of surveying the various areas, but starting tomorrow I will be hitting one field area thoroughly for a couple hours. So far, the best find has been a 1917 type 1 standing liberty quarter. Also an old brass ring with the 18k marking inside. Can anyone identify the hexagon shaped items? They ring up as nickels on the Nox, and leech the same in clay soil. For that matter, any ideas on any of the round brass items or the wheel lookin thing? The coins shown are not wanting to give up dates. One I think is a george II half penny. The other is half a gram lighter and slightly smaller. Happy hunting!.

Hello, My parents have this strange rock lying around and I am wondering if anyone could identify it (see pictures). It's a small, grey rock with orange tints and it has a distinguishable comic shape. The cone edges are smooth. The bottom seems to be broken off from somewhere and has a very particular pattern. From the core there seems to be lines protruding circular around the centre point. Sort of 'fanning out'. The space between the grey rock seem to be filled up with some type of beige curd sand. The top seems to be somewhat bruised and shows a spiral pattern going downward to the bottom. The core seems to be glacy like flint stone. It was probably found somewhere along the coast of Zeeland in The Netherlands. These may be manually deposited sediments. Could anyone help me out and identify this rock object? My guess is that it's part of a stalagmite but it doesn't seem to be just chalk... Cheers, Luc

Hi there thanks for your help. This stone was found in the Sahara desert. I thought it was a fossil but to be honest I have no idea what it is. Any help would be appreciated. seems carved but maybe could be natural markings, extremely heavy. Sound 30cm x 20cm, some sort of quartz stone embedded.

When I light it up it's glows and I can see through. I found the object on a hill, it wasn't lying but was a bit in the ground.

I work in water and sewer construction and while in the ditch we're digging for our pipe was this shiny material. People kept telling me it was just broken glass but after exploring the area better and after pulling a couple pieces out of the wall I realized it was a almost clear crystal with very defined layers to the crystal structure and growths off the side The pictures aren't the best, I can attempt to get better pictures of it tonight if it's too hard to identify. I was thinking quartzite maybe (see first and last photo especially; the isolated crystals in photo 4 would then be quartz if its quartzite), but don't know what the covering is, nor the other layers present. Also some parts appear like small blebs (eg photo 2) and there is a green mineral present (maybe green patina copper?) (photo 3 and 7). Is rather hard (some parts don't scratch with metal, but others - back covering (eg photo 6) are softer and do scratch slightly with metal) and does not fizz in contact with mild acid (vinegar). I Dug this Iron Plate up on the Bank of the Tennessee River in Knoxville, Tennessee. The Iron Plate is 8" x 7" and weighs 5 Pounds & 3 Ounces. I have no idea what it is or how old it is. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello everyone. I'm new to detecting with the Equinox 800. I found several pieces of this metal that had a vdi of 39. It's not magnetic and ice cubes melt very fast. Can anyone tell me if it's silver?

Found These Two Artifacts In Oregon, On Some Farmland Dating Back To The 1800's. I Believe It To Be A Buckle, And A Button But Not Sure. Can Anyone Help Identify Them Please? Front side of buckle. The buckle is 2 inches in length and 1 inch 5/8 in width. When My Nokta Makro Simplex+ detects it the id number shows up as a solid 90. It's not magnetic and appears to be silver. (the artifact is still dirty and needs more restoration) Top side of button. It's about a size of a pea and when detected by my Simplex+ the id jumps around 55 and 60. The button is also not magnetic.

This is another one of those, "What the heck is this?". It is 3 1/4 inches and jumps to a magnet and rings up a solid, LOUD -54 on the Manticore. Those are not threads on the end and appears to be a hard rubber type covering on the handle end. I am used to finding fingernail and or makeup type tools on my beaches, but this doesn't look like anything that could be used in that way. It is fairly heavy for its size also. Can anyone enlighten me? Also, show it to your spouse as they may know what it is. Thanks, Joe

Does this look like a martian meteorite it has a specific gravity of 3.45312 the image is a piece I broke off it's greyish white.

This seems to be slightly familiar but not enough for me to recognize what it is. It is 41.1mm and weighs 8.6g vs 22.45 of the Ike Dollar. It appears to be well worn but no real corrosion on it. From the weight I would say it is aluminum and it rang up a solid 93 on the Manticore. It was on a freshly sanded in beach. This beach replenishes with a lot of greenies on a daily basis this time of the year, so I detect it often. The winged side is symmetrical, but the triangle side is not. The edges are smooth and not reeded. Anyone know what I have found? Please enlighten me. Thanks, Joe

Ive had these since i was a kid. i have no memory where i got them. some were gifts, others Im sure were store bought. site did not post pics in proper order. last three were with 1st four. the image with 4 rocks, the second from left is a darker dirty green. paul

I found this odd rock out in Gold Basin. I've sent some photos to some experts who think it is not a meteorite, just thick desert varnish. It sure had me wondering for a while since it seemed so out-of-place compared to other material nearby.

The first 18 seconds of the video are of the inside then when it turns green that's the outside, looks like olivine crystal maybe, I sent in some samples for testing, looking forward to the results next week. Take care. Video link -
