Possible GPZ8000 coil configurations as per Bruce Candy patent of April 2024. Different winding layouts provide different depth, ground and EMI performance

It seems this Echo Sonic Pro implies some kind of subtle target differentiation/identification via stereo audio? I wonder if they mean depth, or target type, shape, or all? But if this feature is stereo, then does it not work on just the single WM14 they include?

I have set up a new GPZ 8000 Forum. It has old speculative threads leading up to the release (rumors started in 2019!). I included them both to show what people were hoping for and to see whose guess proved most accurate. A couple of years ago I had a double knee replacement & I am on a waiting list for the 8 and have just found out I cannot use the detector with the stock 18" coil that`s coming with the detector. I have been told that the 17" anti interference will work OK and maybe I can get away with using the 13" coil. I have canceled my position in the queue. Very disappointed. 😢

Looks like Minelab has officially released the new GPZ 8000. I’m not sure if someone has already shared this, but I figured I’d get the conversation started just in case.

Was there any mention at the Minelab Dealers conference of, if, and when, the so called 8000 will appear?

Well, the 2023 Full year investor report fell flat for those hoping for news of a new GPZ in the 2024 period. I'm confident it's not happening as I have been for some time now; they appear to have no new detectors coming out in 2024 after the rush of new products to try build the growth in the Treasure side of detectors with less focus on gold. They now consider the current sales situation in Africa the new normal and are moving away from relying on the African market for metal detector sales, a far cry from a couple of years ago when every gold detectors box had African prospectors on it, along with their website and designing models with ease of use to target the African prospectors who don't care about learning a complex detector, they just want to find the easy gold as quickly as they can while it's still there with detectors designed for their needs such as the Gold Monster and GPX 6000. 2024 will be all about building sales of the existing new VLF detectors and getting into new markets like India, along with direct selling to the customers to increase revenue. I'm not overly fussed about no new GPZ coming in the near future, I highly doubt I'd be interested in it, time will tell of course but extremely unlikely I will buy one, especially not for ergonomics reasons, as Minelab's slogan says performance is everything and that's all I care about, and that's going to be the hardest thing for them to improve significantly over my GPZ + X-coils and my 6000, especially as I'm in milder soils and can run my GPZ in normal unleashing its full potential. Codan Limited - ASX Announcement - 2023 Full Year Results In summary, detector sales slowing, now relying on communications a lot more and they have significantly over taken metal detectors as their biggest source of income. They're doing quite well selling countermine detectors into countries such as Ukraine but even that's not enough to prop up the lagging detector sales. Note the bottom line, decrease in African Gold Detector (higher margin) revenues. I think we all know they significantly over charge for gold detectors.

Yes it seems to be true, Minelab (at least for USA) is offering the most popular GPX-6000 at 25% off. We've been told this Limited Sale is good through the month of March or until supplies run out? Well what happens if Minelab sells a bunch of them? Will they see the writing on the walls and realize, just maybe the price points could be better off for us here in the US? Prime example is the very popular Minelab Equinox 800 prices under $1000. That strategic price point move was brilliant and all other manufactures dream of having such sales. Hopefully this move proves to be GOLDEN for Minelab and you/I the consumers. Or maybe there is a GPZ-8000 around the corner?

Had a friend raise an interesting theory; why didn't ML come up with x-type coils for the 7000 and instead is letting NuggetFinder come up with them? They thought it pretty much confirmed that it means ML is readying a new version/upgraded GPZ-type machine, lighter weight, better ergonomics, up-to-date electronics etc. There certainly is no reason to think this weightlifters detector will remain the way it is when, as Steve and others have been saying, there are lighter, more compact, real world usable detectors out there now (QED for one). Thoughts?
