The Axiom uses Garrett’s proprietary Z-Lynk audio system. At 17 ms it is easily faster than the 30 ms threshold it takes for most people to perceive audio lag. The transmitter is built into the detector, and the receiver into the headphone. Pairing is almost instant and once paired, just turn on the detector, good to go. Way less hassle than Bluetooth in that regard. The waterproof Z-Lynk enabled Garrett Pro-Pointer AT can be added as an option, and will seamlessly pair with the headphones and detector both, so you can use and hear the pinpointer without removing headphones. Finally, buy a Z-Lynk transmitter box, and it will work with every detector you have, and the pinpointer also. It is actually probably the best one stop solution for wireless on multiple detectors. The only issue is you have to like the fit and sound produced with the MS3 headphone with single volume control. If not, get a receiver box, and use your favorite wired headphones plugged into it. Hi. Just received the mdt 8000. Would love to hook up the garret z link. Which adapter do you all use if you use the wireless with the tarsacci? And, any suggestions for the settings in red dirt?? Thanks in advance!

Newbie here,how do I connect the Garrett Z-Lynk to the Equinox 600? Doesn't the WT-1 box of the Z Lynk have to be physically connected to the 600 via adapter cord? I didn't see any such cord on the Minelab site. I just bought this 600 havn't even used it yet but fter reading post from different sources, I think I'm going to hate this thing.

From what I have experienced, you can only silence the audio on the probe with Z-Link. The vibrate will still sound on the probe. If this was intended to be a stealth mode, it's not. If there are people near by, they will hear the vibrate moter making noise. Kind of defeats the purpose. I would like to see a complete silent mode at the probe and audio in the headset. Your thoughts?

Is it me, or am I missing something here. How do you tell how much battery capacity there is? I believe somewhere I was reading about the universal Z-link module led will blink with 3 hours left. Is this true for the headphones? If so, that would drive me crazy not knowing the level until then. Scenario: Leave the house to detect 6-8 hours or more, hour into the hunt led flashes, meaning only 3 hours left, for a total of only 4 hours. This will cause me to recharge the headphones before every hunt. Even iIf they didn't really need it. Probably shorten battery life, too. If this is the case, maybe Garrett needs to add a battery level meter on the headphones or wireless to the AT MAX with an icon showing the level on the display. Your thoughts?

As has become common with all modern detector manufacturers, Garrett has a proprietery audio transmitter/receiver system called Z-Lynk. The typical application is a transmitter internal to the detector's control pod and a proprietary (MS-3) headphone. What I'm wondering is if the standalone Z-lynk receiver is compatible with their detectors that have the built-in transmitters. This would be analogous to the Minelab Equiunox WM08 module which allows the user to attach his/her favorite headphones instead of being 'stuck with' the proprietary ML80 headphones. I do see that Garrett sells the receiver separately but that could be as a replacement for an (out-of-warranty) Z-Lynk T/R pair. It would certainly make sense that the answer is 'yes' but I haven't found on either their website or YouTube instructional videos that they discuss this particular application (internal transmitter to external receiver). Then again, I haven't watched all their videos.

Hello. Using the forum search didn't bring up a confirmation. So, if this was asked in the past I'm sorry for the repeat. My question is, will the Garrett MS-3 Z-Lynk wireless kit work with the MXT or DFX? The manual states compatible with nearly any brand; and from detector pro I know they have a special white's switch build in. Anyone using this setup for his White's detector?

Hi All, I am a newbie and purchased a Garrett AT Max. I am having trouble pairing the MS-3 Z-Lynk Headphones to the AT Max. Am I missing something? Manual says push the 2 buttons with headphones on. Did this like 50 times.

Just curious since I have a pair of the Garretts that I haven't touched since I got my Equinox. I love the headphones and while I like the Minelab wireless phones for me the Garretts are superior. Any of you folks use them on your Equinox? Bill (S. CA)

Contemplating getting the Garrett Zlink module, since it has the same latency as the WM module. Anyone using it? If so so, any compatibility issues? TIA

I seen they are available now on the Garrett website . I ordered one from Metaldetectors.com . Im looking forward to trying this one out and cuttin the cord.
