True, It sees them a whole lot smaller though 🙂

The 6000 is about 19kHz VLF level when it comes to small gold sizes it will detect, not even close to a Gold Monster.

Not by much though. I used to use the gold monster as my shallow water bedrock creek detector. Not any more. The 6000 proved itself to me there. So much so that my gold monster sits sad & lonely back at home these days. The 6000 isn't too shabby on the tiny surface dwelling bits that is the gold monsters bread & butter gold but give the gold a slight bit more size & weight & depth & the GM will not see it & the 6000 will scream on those all day long. And It doesn't have to be too much bigger either, just deeper. The 6000 & 10x5 Goldhawk loves them. Got my vote.

Who did the mods on your 5000?

Mick at Detectronics.  Im patiently waiting for the big coil to come out that he designed with Nugget Finder.  The smaller Sadie sized coil is already out.

yea, I think the smaller bits the GM finds over the 6000 most people aren't too worried about missing more so than they're close to each other on small gold.  6000 = 0.03+ of a gram, if real lucky with a solid lump 0,02, Gold Monster = 0.00X of a gram.

That 10x5" Goldhawk is certainly the most sensitive coil for the 6000, surprising how good the 11" Minelab coil is by comparison though.

Someone like you might benefit from a Manticore for the creeks, much more powerful on the bigger stuff than the GM with similar small gold performance, and waterproof so no risk like there is using a 6000 in a creek, especially if your creeks are anything like around here, it's easy to take a tumble, my GM's already had a dunking and survived it from me taking a fall, I've had a few falls though, don't always land in the water, the rocks and mud around the creeks can be slippery or even the fast water flow can take me over.  Problem is the price of the detector, then coil, and then replacing its lower shaft straight away to make it suitable for gold prospecting, a lot cheaper than replacing a drowned 6000 though 🙂  I think anyone that's used a Manticore would retire their GM1000.

Who knows though, with Nokta's pending gold PI release which is waterproof and set to be a game changer with pricing by their own admission we may be lucky and talking about lots of detectors slipping under a certain dollar mark on the second-hand market and pushing new prices down too.

What size is that one?

Im not sure yet.  Did hear it was gonna be elliptical though.  I dont have much time on mine yet but Im running a 15" round evo right now. It seems to run really smooth and targets are loud and crisp.  Found gold the 6000's missed.

Yeah I think that is always the case.  I would love to have his smaller battery system. But he is so busy building mods. He is not doing them.
