Someone just brought this thread back to my attention and I'm compelled to relate a conversation I had with Kevin Hoagland.  He was with Minelab at the time when the Explorers were brought to market as I remember him telling me.  I asked him if the SE Pro was just the 'Pro' coil and he said there were more things done to the SE Pro than just a coil.  I don't know what they were.

My last extended use of my SE Pro caused some tendonitis that I haven't been able to completely get over.  I had been using the 800 for several years and it was out of power one night and I took the SE Pro out on the beach for a couple of hours.  I think I was using the Coiltek which I never did my first years of using it.  The next day every time I would move my right thumb I would feel the tendon all the way to my elbow.  I haven't used it in the last couple of years I think now.  It affected my pool game and stroke.

Whatever happened to Bryce?  He was an exceptionally good detectorist with an Explorer, used to enjoy reading his posts on Findmall (RIP).

Bryce is still alive & well---he has some aches & pains (like the rest of us). ☺️I talk to him  once in awhile---he doesn't detect  much anymore.
