I bought mine from whites biggest distributor called  ( Whites of the great lakes)…It was sent to them as a prototype to test,but the owner told me that they never heard back from whites about it after that. I’ve only ever saw two of these, mine and yours..I was lucky enough to be able to buy mine..

I knew we sent a few out for distys to check out but I thought we had gotten them back. They were not supposed to sell protos. Anyway, it's a good detector, basically an MXT with more features.

What are the differences with the MXT?

Lock-trac has ground grab; multi-notch disc; tone ID; multiple tone options; LCD backlight

Maybe more, I don't remember.

Here is my mx9, it’s still like brand new. Here are some of the features…10 levels of sensitivity..Coin, beach,relic and prospect modes..volume 1-99….threshold 0-99….frequency offset -10 to +10…track and trac lock with ground grab…Tones, 1, 2,4,8,and F which stands for full tones…Has standby mode , when you set it down hit the power button once and it’s in standby mode, no sound.. hit the power button again and it’s back in hunt mode….Has modulation or unmodulated audio option..backlight, etc.. I have a mxt pro, this is no mxt pro, it’s way more refined, lighter and I’d hafto say exceptionally better for the tailor ability…in the one pic it says trac with a 4 under it, that’s for four tones..in the other pic it has a F on the bottom of the screen, that’s for full tones..
