Geotech
After my earlier reply to this thread I bought a display that should have worked but it did not. I have heard that there is a particular display that will work but I don't know which one. 1 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/19716-xlt-lcd-replacement/page/2/#findComment-281876 Share on other sites
Cascade Steven
I read on another forum that the DFX display may be an acceptable replacement. Maybe Geotech can comment as to whether this is true or false. Geotech
XLT & DFX use the same display. 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/19716-xlt-lcd-replacement/page/2/#findComment-282152 Share on other sites
KD8GIS
Along the same lines... I just bid and won a White's M6 detector off Ebay. It was listed with this LCD problem. Still works, Just doesn't display. I haven't got it yet from shipping so I can't open the pod and see if it's a bad connection yet. Hoping this is the case. Anyone know it there's replacement ones for the M6? 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/19716-xlt-lcd-replacement/page/2/#findComment-284248 Share on other sites

The plastic parts holding the display will break very easy; and this plastic is hard to glue. 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/19716-xlt-lcd-replacement/page/2/#findComment-284249 Share on other sites
Geotech
The M6 display is a very generic one, should be easy to find. OTOH, I've never seen one go bad, so I suspect a connection problem. 2 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/19716-xlt-lcd-replacement/page/2/#findComment-284250 Share on other sites

When I do a search for the ST7920 they come up with 5V and 3V. Which one may work? I'd chose the 5V one. Will this be correct? 2 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/19716-xlt-lcd-replacement/page/2/#findComment-284296 Share on other sites
Geotech
Yes, 5V. 2 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/19716-xlt-lcd-replacement/page/2/#findComment-284301 Share on other sites
