RickUK
Must admit mine has and never will get modified and the sole reason is that i dont do nugget hunting with it,it's sole use was to be used for hoard/artefact hunting and even then only on occasions.Only ever use it in straight PI mode with mainly GPX coils because of the cost aspect as the machine sits around most of the time, but on occasion when it does come out too play it does earn its keep. The machine is that clean it looks like it just came down the Whites production line a few hours ago,i wont ever part with it and also it does exactly what i wanted from it when i wanted a hoard hunter, this task has been split between the TDI Pro and my Nexus machines which of course has total discrimination. 2 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/20071-looking-for-whites-tdi-mod-info/page/8/#findComment-260802 Share on other sites
VSM
Could you please help me find out the value of resistor R127, near VR1. On my board it is oversoldered and appears to be a high value. Sorry this is a bit off topic. Thank you. Sorry its been years since I talked to Reg, he just dropped off the face of the earth around 2016 or 2017 and he stopped communicating. Hope this helps.  Hi machinesmith, Quick question for you. Did this 2 diode+resistor mod include cutting any traces? Because it looks like just soldering in the small PCB as indicated on your schematic would not result in the modified schematic you posted (the diode between U14-7 and TP17 would be shorted by the existing trace). Thanks Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/20071-looking-for-whites-tdi-mod-info/page/8/#findComment-279489 Share on other sites
VSM
Looks like the answer is in the red square on the picture below: On the right side of the R106 there are traces for cutting of the track just next to the vias. This interrupts the connection between U14-7 and TP17 + R106. But machinesmith knows this better.  1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/20071-looking-for-whites-tdi-mod-info/page/8/#findComment-279500 Share on other sites

VSM
It is 301k, the number is 3013: Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/20071-looking-for-whites-tdi-mod-info/page/8/#findComment-279586 Share on other sites
Geotech
The value is 301kΩ. If I'm not mistaken, this resistor was added in series with the volume control to reduce the max volume. 301k is way too high for this. Is your volume really low?  Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/20071-looking-for-whites-tdi-mod-info/page/8/#findComment-279617 Share on other sites
VSM
I bought this TDI Pro PCB some time ago and decided to test it to see if it works. There are not GB, Frequency and Pulse delay pots on it. But Volume control pot is 10k.Yes R127 is in series with volume control pot. And because 10k/(301k+10k) is a very small part to the audio amplifier, I doubt if this value is correct. In addition, there are traces of re-soldering on this resistor. This makes me think the original component is different. VSM
I haven't checked if the volume is low, but I'm guessing it's too low. Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/20071-looking-for-whites-tdi-mod-info/page/8/#findComment-279702 Share on other sites
