It's said that Discovery made the TM808 for Whites. Best wishes! Jim
Jim in Idaho
Thanks, Jim. I just bought a 900 with the transmit coil broken off. Also got a Discovery 1200 in the same deal. I'm also working on another deal for a good condition 900...waiting on pics. Probably buy that one, too...LOL. Anything worth doing is worth overdoing...Ha! Not sure about the 1200. I'm thinking a cache and cable locator, with fewer features than the 900, but not sure. Jim
PimentoUK
Quote:" I just bought a TF-900 with the transmit coil broken off" Unfortunately, this is not the simplest thing to repair, as there is a toriodal "donut" transformer built into the transmit coil assembly. However : the good news is that another engineer has recently managed to repair a TF-900 that had a similar TX loop fault, and the troubles are documented in a thread on the Geotech1 Forum: TF900 repair Quote: "I have TF900 on the bench for a couple of days. But! It came to me only with RX small pcb, TX one was missing and there is no chance to obtain it. Only thing is missing is TX coil specs, according to photos it appears that it consists of 3 coils wound on ferrite ring core. And that's my problem now. I need only that info to complete the detector."

RickUK
I own and use a Fisher TW-5 which i purchased almost brand new a few years back the guy purchased the TW-5 brand new and paid over £600 for it only tried it for about 1 hour and decided he wanted to sell it,i paid him £160 for it and its still sat in its box after all these years,i think i have only used it a couple of times. The only reason i got it because it was a 1/4 of the new price and 1 hours use, will never loose any sleep about it just sitting around gathering dust but one day i may use it for finding a scattered hoard container. Rick, if you can find an Arc-Geologger on the used market, you might be surprised how useful that detector may be. I just bought one, and it opened a whole, new endeavor into my prospecting/cache hunting. I'll be posting some stuff once the weather closes my season.
