what happened to J Gold

I liked his vids too Peg.  It all just stopped very abruptly.  Not sure what happened to him 🤷‍♂️

Your'e darn right Steve. All of my lead shot and bottle cap patches down here in Oz are jealously guarded. I take all my pics up close so no clues are given away 😄

In the last couple years I have noticed a dramatic decline in Australians posting nugget finds, whether on YouTube or in forum posts. Some of that is that it is getting harder to find the gold, but I think there is also a side effect also of people wanting to protect what finds are left. I don't know about Australia but Arizona is famous for people trying to follow successful prospectors. Simply leaving tire tracks on rarely traveled dirt roads was reason enough for some to follow those tracks to see where they went. Long story short posting finds anywhere on the Internet draws attention that people want less of these days.

Yes Steve, I am one of those Aussie YouTubers who stopped doing videos ( araratgold ).
Got too many " jealous " or simple minded people claiming I had faked my bigger finds, and one individual in particular who tried to follow my tracks in Western Australia to poach my hard earned patches!

Just wasn't worth the effort or the agro!

PS : I am a personal friend of Tim ( Minelab Gold ) and did an 8 week trip to WA last year with him. We found quite a bit of gold, but neither of us did any vids.
Don't expect to see more vids from him any time soon, as he is not well at the moment.

Cheers, Rick

In the 80's and 90's Gold Detecting articles in a magazine in Australia, gave a general idea of the location of where the gold was found and possibly a nearby town with a diagram showing a unnamed creek, someone knowing the area could have a reasonable idea of where the author detected.

I think to protect the authors efforts in finding a patch/nugget, magazine articles now can read more like wine/grape growing report. The nugget was found on the sunny side of a hill overlooking the valley below.

I like The Graf Boys, The Gold Magnet, The Gold Hounds, West Oz Adventures,  and Outback Gold Fever. I have spent an enormous amount  of time on YouTube editing and trying to grow it. You gain people that like your content and eventually you also develop  haters as well. I am getting tired and drained with shooting  videos and all I have shot this season in Arizona is a few shorts. YouTube  is messing with my channel and I am getting sick of it. I have come across a couple people who look upon me with contempt and see me as an enemy because I show where I find Gold to a general degree. I will be trying  TikTok and another video site like YouTube. All I shot of the monster nugget was after I got to caliche, pinpointing it and then a second one after I realized it was a big gold nugget. I have talked with the AU Twins about coming up to my claim this summer and they are interested. We will see how that goes for video collaboration.
