Legend owners now have an additional 10 coil choices for the detector, and this will mean it's fiercely competitive with the best of the best from any brand. That 17x15" Nel Big would have to add some depth, then the absolute tiny gold nugget (flake) sensitivity of the Nel Snake at 6.5 x 3.5. The Nel Superfly and Tornado are also coils to take note of. It was always my condition that I wouldn't buy a Legend unless it had Nel coils, as I have too many detectors and adding another similar one would be a pointless exercise for my needs. However, now with Nel having their range of Legend coils available it is a must have detector for me, the Legend paired with a Nel Snake coil would be a beast for prospecting. He's a link to the Legend's Snake coil. https://nel-coils.com/index.php/en/production/nel-snake-9-5x3-5?id=2376 I'm sure they're going to be hard to come by at the start, and no doubt expensive as shipping from Ukraine at the moment is sky high, a price I am willing to pay though, this has to be a giant kick in the marbles to Noktas competitors. I know I am late to the thread but I like the legend a lot. I didn't know nel was making coils for them. Mine is the slightly older version with the 11 inch round coil. I also have the 6 inch but my favorite nokta coil is the lg24. if I saw this thread before I would have ordered a slightly different coil...and I still may. I found a little silver dime the other day with the large coil using the 1.09 firmware in a tight area against a sidewalk. Picked it out just fine. I just loaded up the new 1.15 firmware but haven't taken it out yet. one thing it doesn't like is my tekpoint pinpointer but it isn't enough to make me seek out another brand one yet. they are tough and well built and you can see the screen in the sunlight very well compared to other units. the only thing that take a little getting used to is the menu system. But once you get that down really the first 4 settings is about all you ever fiddle with. you may have already bought yours I haven't read this entire thread but I do believe you will like it. 3 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/25664-time-for-me-to-jump-onboard-and-buy-a-legend-nel-now-make-coils-for-it/page/4/#findComment-273371 Share on other sites

Enjoying mine with the LG 24 coil. Only been out once since the 1.15 update, it ran smooth at Sens 25. Yes me too......I went out once to a place I hit a few days before with the new firmware and also the lg24 coil. I like it so much that I sold my deus 2 set up. Not that that unit doesn't perform well but, I just found myself grabbing it more than the deus the past few outings and I can see the screen very well in the sun. I also found a few wheats I missed with the large stock coil. It is a fun unit to use! 2 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/25664-time-for-me-to-jump-onboard-and-buy-a-legend-nel-now-make-coils-for-it/page/4/#findComment-275594 Share on other sites
Nokta Detectors
Hello all! Long time, no talk! Just wanted to chime in here. Normally the coils need to be calibrated for them to work properly. NEL has never approached us for calibration set ups and/or for purchasing the necessary components. We warned them regarding this subject but they simply ignored it. So for those who are planning to buy these coils, they have NOT been tested by Nokta and neither have we collaborated with them. Thank you! 2 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/25664-time-for-me-to-jump-onboard-and-buy-a-legend-nel-now-make-coils-for-it/page/4/#findComment-276220 Share on other sites

Thank you! The reasons I would try a search coil for my Legend, made by Nel are: - Their NEL Thunder (37x26.5 cm) search coil for Nokta The Legend is 300 grams lighter than the Nokta LG35. - The design of their search coils does not collect mud and water inside them. Can we expect a search coil with similar specs from Nokta soon?
