Funny you should start this thread Ron, that's exactly what's happening, NF are making a new coil to do just that at the moment

I think we can all imagine the time frame for this to occur if NF are doing it. Might see it sometime in 2026. Rohan has no capacity to even bring the promised 16x10 for the 6000 into being. Getting your 5000 modded will be an eye opener Simon. I wish I had the $$ to get another 5000 just to mod it myself.

I would still like to see the NF Xceed 16x10 for the 6K if it goes 1+ inch deeper, than ML 11" round mono, on 1G+ nuggets and is just as quiet as the 12x7.

I tested the OEM ML 17x13 on my 6K and was not impressed.

CC's have been made for the 6000 already, results weren't as good as one might expect so unless someone else can do it better I wouldn't be too excited about CC's on the 6000.

Yeah they are tricky coils to produce and get right, like the DD's. Making them quiet enough to tolerate ground mineralisation and retaining their inherent sensitivity is not easy, it takes many prototypes to get it right.

Same, both ones I tried were badly noisy and impossible to use in any practical sense. Ive heard that much later ones were typically better.

Maurice Coppola has been testing a 12x7 Nugget Finder for the last 4 months. You can see it preform on his Eureka Gold You Tube episode think it’s episode 3 on his mining demo.Looks to be in the same 12x7 case as NF for the 6000.He is running it on a Modified 5000.

yep, that's the one, a hybrid semi spiral for the GPX/Algoforce.

Yeah, we also saw prototypes shown of the 16x10 for the 6000 back in 2022. Still not in production. A prototype is one thing, it being available to actually buy is another. Remember, the 12x8 EVO has been around for a long time and they are only a very minor difference apart from this 12x7 version. So very little is needed to create this prototype and we still havent seen it in the marketplace. Maurice posted that video 4 months ago and the video'ing was done quite some time before that. I love NF coils, I want to buy more....but the speed at which his factory can make available new product is very low.

The 12x8 was really hard to produce it was said at the time that’s as small as they could get a spiral wound. They did have to increase the thickness of the coil by about 3/8 of a inch after serial number 40,000.The need to go hybrid in a 12x7 case .Would make since.I have a over 40,0000 and a under 40,000 # .12x8 and there are differences is the two coils ran on stock and modded GPX detectors.

I think the slow pace in which coils are released for the GPZ and GPX 6000 by the likes of NF is related to Minelab in some way, they don't need to do anything with Minelab in regards to this 12x7", there is no control over them, I don't expect big delays getting a Legacy GPX coil to market.
