Features/Price Comparison of the Garrett Vortex vs. Nokta Triple Score vs. Minelab X-Terra Elite

Note the Minelab X-Terra Elite Price of $599 US I listed is based on a combo package that includes ML wireless phones and a 6" round coil.  The detector/coil only price for X-terra Elite is $479 US.

Pretty disappointing, I was hoping for a Manticore/Deus 2 competitor as most of us were, but I guess the biggest market is the mid-range, so it gives the highest chance of profits to further develop the platform.

If I were to buy one of these, it would probably be the VX9 due to wanting to support Garrett, I still love my AT Pro even though it is extremely subpar performance wise now. It was my first "real" metal detector and I found a lot of stuff with it. If I were to choose based on these spec sheets, the triple score easily wins. Though if I were forced to sell my equinox and use one of these, it would be the elite because that is a proven platform and one I'm more familiar with.

first of all, let's take into account the price vs. the possibilities of the detector... here we can start comparing the possibilities of the Vortex 9...

I guess the unknown is the performance, it might surprise us yet.

Z-link is proprietary. Correct?

...and it has IB settings?

Yes Z link is proprietary, and I should have made the table more clear on iron filter/bias.  VX9 does not have adjustable IB settings that I am aware of, but it does have some sort of IB-like capability that allows it to put targets on the third tier (upper) bargraph display.  It's hard to make apples to apples to apples spec sheet comparisons because there is no benchmark standard specification for Metal Detector features.  Lot's of pseudo tech marketing and buzzword terminology gets wrapped up in the features list and manufacturers do similar things but in different ways.  Iron filtering features is one example.
