Popular Post Doc Bach
Back in April I was hunting one of my relic sites that is spread out over about forty acres. Swinging the Deus 2 with the 11x13 coil using the Relic and Goldfield modes running it as hot as I could and primarily targeting and trying pick out large iron relics from the sea of nails and so forth. Long story short I hit an approximately 3x3x3 foot what I was hoping to be a small privy but it ended up not having a use layer and turned out being trash pit full of horse and mule shoes and a whole lot of gun parts and three partial guns and some damaged fishing impliments a couple of toys and assorted stuff.(Many Photos) The Three Wheel Guns Missing Various Parts. The Center One Is I Believe A 22 Caliber Seven Shot Colt Or Smith&Wesson? Hard Too Tell From Photo But Reasonably Sure It's A Seven Shooter Serial Number 113592? The Third One In The Lineup Is A 32 Or 38 Caliber I'm Guessing? Some Of You Gun Experts Can Probably Give Me Some Usefull Information Butt Plates Trigger Guards And What Looks To Be A Couple Of Colt Dragoon Parts And Flintlocks? Etcetera. The Object Above In The Lower Lefthand Corner Has The Look And Feel Of What Might Have Been A Sword? Two Iron Horses Badly Damaged Fish Spears And Spur And The Only Glass In The Hole. And A Corrective Shoe Worth Keeping. Looking Forward To Comments And Information On The Gun Stuff Thanks! 24

JCR
I will try to look at some of my reference material but the small Nickel plated Bird’s Head spur trigger revolver reminds me of Merrill & Hubert and possibly Hopkins & Allen. All 3 are cartridge guns so later quarter of the 19th Century. The Octagon barrel on the larger revolver is early. What do you think the Brass stopper looking item next to your sword tip is?

Thank you JCR researching is not one of my strengths. My mind wanders too much. Funny I was about to ask for your help identifying the Brass piece. It is stamped HAYDON GERE & C. The tapered end is threaded on the inside.
JCR
Mr. Google says they were a Brass foundry & manufacturer in Massachusetts. What it is?
JCR
The slot on the side could have been for a wire spring lock. It reminds me of a Powder measure.

Valens Legacy
Nice finds and I bet you had a lot of digging to do to get them out of the ground. Some of the more rusted items might be able to be cleaned up with soaking them in Coke . Just a thought, but don't leave it in to long. Good luck on your next outing and stay safe out there in this heat.
