JCR
Same here. I think a lot of people will be surprised at what they introduce. 3 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/26187-noktas-new-pi-machines/page/4/#findComment-285440 Share on other sites
Steve Herschbach
I wonder what Nokta thinks of the Axiom being shown as if it’s their new PI? No folks, that’s a Garrett Axiom and except for being a metal detector no resemblance to what Nokta is working on. This is as much as you get for now…. 2 2 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/26187-noktas-new-pi-machines/page/4/#findComment-285441 Share on other sites

Desert Dawg
As far as the main circuit board box, I hope its big, with some real guts, some giant coil capacitors!! I don't want performance to be hindered by weight reduction! 4 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/26187-noktas-new-pi-machines/page/4/#findComment-285447 Share on other sites

Compass
I really have not been paying attention to the development of this new PI detector from Nokta but now that we are closer to its release (I think) I'm getting more curious. The wet sand at the beach is where I hunt probably 95% of the time and the White's TDI BeachHunter has served me well during the last 5+ years. The TDI works very well when I encounter black sand or other high mineralization but the feature I like the most is its ability to differentiate between high and low conductors. Perhaps I missed it but I would hope that the Nokta PI would have some form of discrimination. Target ID would be great but, at least, an audio signal. It looks like the unit may have a screen on the control panel so I'm guessing some type of ID indication? The 2 offerings will be the "gold" and the "relic" detectors so I think that the "gold" machine would be the best one for the beach. I know that Axioms are used on the beach and the thought is that the Nokta may be a more affordable Axiom-like PI? So, another concern I would have would be the depth capability of the Nokta. If it has comparable depth to my past White's PI's, ability to handle bad soil (sand) and discrimination at a reasonable price, what's not to like? 2 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/26187-noktas-new-pi-machines/page/4/#findComment-285581 Share on other sites
Bohemia Miner
I haven't swung a TDI in a while but both the Minelab 7000 and the Garrett Axiom sound high/low for low conductors and low/high for high. At first, I thought that was Garrett Engineering but noticed it on a recent "Nugget Shooter Journals" video as well. Bill was using his 7000. Maybe they'll incorporate their "Ferro Check" into the unit. Only time will tell. 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/26187-noktas-new-pi-machines/page/4/#findComment-285582 Share on other sites

Following is exactly all the info there is, anything else is pure speculation. Here is the transcript and slide from Dileks video presentation posted earlier: "I'm not going to talk too much about the pulse induction but I'm going to give you a little glimpse of it... and okay now you'll see the slide (copy below). This is what we're going to say about our pulse induction, upcoming pulse induction, which is not really far away. I'm not going to share any launch dates with you at this point but we're coming to an end now guys. Just like Nokta detectors changed the industry for VLF detectors in terms of price and performance, we're going to do the same in pulse induction, both for gold prospectors and relic hunters. We will redefine affordability and performance for you guys to break free from the grip of all these overpriced pulse induction detectors. Africa, Australia, Western America, and the other parts of the world hear us - if you're looking for a high end pulse induction machine for the toughest soils, waterproof, rugged, and affordable, that is good for small as well as larger nuggets or for relics all we're going to say at this point - Wait For Nokta!" 8 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/26187-noktas-new-pi-machines/page/4/#findComment-285587 Share on other sites
Knomad
I say if they can pull it off -- Good for them, I do not own any Nokta detectors, but they seem to have a generally pretty good reputation, including being more waterproof than most, and at good prices. Competition is what improves the the sport. 6 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/26187-noktas-new-pi-machines/page/4/#findComment-285617 Share on other sites
