I had the chance to purchase the X3, and X5 a few years ago, but decided to stick with the Tesoro branded ones, as I was more familiar with their capabilities, and ease of use!🍀👍

I'm happy to report there's a great ending to this post... Many years went by after I sold the X2 to quest after some other detector. I'm sure the X2 is no match for today's detectors in terms of visual and audio ID, but it was fun to use. I found myself concentrating more on my hunting rather than my settings. Being honest, in my best locations for the oldest targets, rarely do I find targets deeper today than what the X2 was capable of in 1998. Even though my history is full of high-tech detectors, I actually prefer the simple "beep & digs" over anything else. All these memories made me miss my original  Shadow X2. I checked my coin log and the Shadow X2 has the distinction of being the only detector I've used that found two Walking Liberty Half-Dollars (1941 & 1917 S) in the same location. Oh! I did manage to find that rare missing Lady Shadow prototype decal mentioned earlier amongst a drawer of old searchcoil bolts.

Well, our own "Joe D." unselfishly offered to sell me one of the two he owned. He sent photos and the condition of the detector was truly, in his words, "mint". It was as new as the first time I put hands on my original. His price tag was very fair given today's over-inflated prices of yesterday's detectors. He didn't take advantage of my nostalgia to own one again. He even shipped the X2 before I had a chance to send him payment! It truly renews one's faith in good, honest people. He thought more of my feelings than his own. Thank you "Joe D.", you made it possible for me to be reunited with an "old friend" and to have a shining example of my past achievements.

P.S. There's more... Seems the "Super 7 Inch" lost it's decal over the years or never had one by factory accident. I seem to remember a "Rusty" who worked for Tesoro during my relationship with the company. So I emailed my friend "Rusty", who works for Garrett, thinking he was the same person! I wanted to ask him if he knew of anyone who purchased Tesoro inventory when they went of business, hoping I might find a Shadow X2 "Super 7  Inch" coil decal. He never did work for Tesoro, but ironically he was a friend of Troy Galloway! Troy is alive and well and retired. He contacted Troy on my behalf about my dilemma and he is going to look into his remnants of parts to try and help me complete the coil and detector! Hopefully I can speak with Troy again and complete this incredible reunion! How fortunate I have been!

That X2 is in beautiful condition

Question:

What was the differences between the Shadow X2 and the Lady Shadow ???

Glad I was able to facilitate the reunion Bob, and it was a pleasure talking and dealing with you! May you find many more hidden gems with it!🍀💍🪙📿

And to answer "DSmiths" question, the only difference I am aware of, other than the "lady shadow" decal, which was on the side bottom of the arm cuff, was a slight frequency shift between the two, so they wouldn't interfere with one another if hunting together with a partner!🍀👍👍

Thanks for the response

I have a few other beep and digs I am trying to find for sale but have had no luck so far in locating any of the ones I have been looking for, I love using the beep and digs I own, they have just made detecting fun for me again when I do use my beep and digs, currently have five beep and digs LOL and I enjoy using every one of them

I'm enjoying my Deeptech Vista Gold Gain w/7x11 and Supersix 5.4x8. Also enjoying my Tesoro Tejon & Lobo ST w/9x8 and 10" eliptical.
