That X2 is in beautiful condition

Question:

What was the differences between the Shadow X2 and the Lady Shadow ???

Thank you! The difference in the Lady Shadow and the Shadow X2. The Lady was 9.6 KHz and the X2 was 10 KHz. This would allow side-by-side hunting without frequency cross-talk. Today's detectors and even some older Tesoro's had frequency shift to combat cross-talk.

Β  Β And to answer "DSmiths" question, the only difference I am aware of, other than the "lady shadow" decal, which was on the side bottom of the arm cuff, was a slight frequency shift between the two, so they wouldn't interfere with one another if hunting together with a partner!πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘

I plan to! πŸ™‚ Just this morning I added a WT-1 so I can use my existing headphones and pinpointer. Works perfectly and only added 3.2 ounces in weight to an already super lightweight detector. Now the X2 auto battery test can do its worst while my headphones are off! πŸ™‚

Thank you, you are correct. I forgot to mention the "Troy" decal on the armcup sides was replaced with the "Lady" decal. Now if only we could get our wives interested in metal detecting!

Β  Β Now be careful what you wish for Bob! Just like fishing rods, we don't need anyone keeping track of how many metal detectors we all have! That could be disastrous!! πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«πŸ€•πŸ‘πŸ‘

There’s the classic joke that applies to any hobby item men collect………………..

My biggest fear is that when I die my wife will sell my detectors for what I told her I paid for them πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

P.S. There's more... Seems the "Super 7 Inch" lost it's decal over the years or never had one by factory accident. I seem to remember a "Rusty" who worked for Tesoro during my relationship with the company. So I emailed my friend "Rusty", who works for Garrett, thinking he was the same person! I wanted to ask him if he knew of anyone who purchased Tesoro inventory when they went of business, hoping I might find a Shadow X2 "Super 7Β  Inch" coil decal. He never did work for Tesoro, but ironically he was a friend of Troy Galloway! Troy is alive and well and retired. He contacted Troy on my behalf about my dilemma and he is going to look into his remnants of parts to try and help me complete the coil and detector! Hopefully I can speak with Troy again and complete this incredible reunion! How fortunate I have been!

Well, to quote myself above, there is even more... My friend Rusty Curry at Garrett emailed recently to tell me he finally heard back from Troy about my quest for a Super 7 Inch searchcoil label. Rusty asked his friend Mike Skinner, who also knows Troy Galloway, to stop by and pickup a "care package for Bob". That package was dropped off to Rusty who in turn mailed it to me.

It arrived yesterday and in the envelope there was a full sheet of labels for a Shadow X2 and you guessed it, the searchcoil label was in there that I wanted so bad to complete the detector I purchased from "Joe D."! The sheet was complete with the backing adhesive and diecutting just like the day they were made from my artwork. All I had to do was put it on as you can see below. I've been purposely waiting to use the detector to avoid any dirt interfering with the label application.

I called Troy to thank him and we talked like we did 26 years ago. We reminisced about the old days, it was good to have a laugh again with Troy. Thank you Joe D., Rusty Curry,Β Mike Skinner, and Troy Galloway for giving me a wonderful physicalΒ  connection to my past. You are good people! I will be sure to post again when I make some finds with the X2! The detector is so "crispy" I'm almost afraid to get it dirty! πŸ™‚ Metal detectors are for having fun and staying healthy.

Me I wont care what the detectors I have get sold for when I die, as long as they are sold and not just hauled to the dump LOL now that would be disastrous,

I have given some names to my daughter for when that time comes of various people to contact with the sell of all my detectors so she can get help pricing them to sell some I have designated to go to a few true friends that has expressed interest in some of the detectors I have.Β

I have also given her names of the forums I am on so she can ask peoples opinions on prices to sell for so when she does contact all you wonderful people on Detector Prospector be nice to her or I will come back and haunt every one of you on here LOL

That's the beauty of what Garrett has done with the Z-Lynk system. They have not made it exclusive to just their own detectors. It's actually quite a smart marketing plan. The WT-1 receives the detector audio and transmits it to their Z-Lynk Headphones (MS-3) and the ProPointer AT Z-Lynk pairs with the headphones and transmits its audio. I like simple and this is simply adaptable. You can use this system with most detectors that have a 1/4" audio output jack. The trick is you have to have their headphones and pinpointer for it to work because it is faster than Bluetooth. The system works on their own non-intrinsic Z-Lynk detectors as well. The WT-1 is L-ion USB rechargeable. I'm anxious to get in the field with the X2 using this wireless setup. The old analog Shadow x2's/Silver Sabres were pretty good among nails.
