It is really great to see the responsiveness of AlgoForce to user suggestions for overall improvement. This is going to be a great all around PI unit for a large number of detectorists. You can bet other manufacturers are having to revamp their plans.

I really hope that they will make the unit waterproof for at least 10 feet deep.

I think they should do a waterproof version at some point; they would have to produce their own coils for that model which they're very capable of doing as no GPX coils are properly waterproof for that sort of usage.  Demand is what motivates manufacturers, if they see the demand is there, they're more likely to do it.

They're amazing at implementing user requested changes and new features.  Anyone can do it, you just have to come up with a viable idea suitable for the detector, contact them whereby you are speaking directly to an engineer and they discuss your idea and the best way to implement it, then they get to work, in short order they have a new firmware available with the new change or feature.    The detector has undergone some pretty amazing enhancements since release, and further good changes are in the pipeline.

A detector with a robust computer onboard can be updated rather than wait for an upgrade or new model.  I can see a point in the future where I would even pay for an update if Algo does some personal tweaking that puts more in my jar.  For now they have a detector that is out and working and they are updating it with user/owner input as well as testers it seems.  All good.

The coil yoke setup on vers 1 was the only brainless thing on the whole detector. Glad to see they finally changed it. I glued mine like a rock within an hour of owning it.

I haven't paid much attention to it, I change coils a lot too, did you just line it all up and glue it then it just stays in position making it easier.

Yes, the thing rotated like a top. Lining up the coil bolt holes was a nightmare!

The depth increase in the Mild vs Mineralised setting is quite notable, even with a low Sensitivity.

Using Sensitivity 15, and an Aussie $2 coin here's a couple results:

With a 10x5" Coiltek in Ultra mode, I'm seeing a 5cm (2 inch) improvement

With a 9" Elite, in Fine mode, Mild is beating the Mineralised setting by a little over 2 inches.

So it's definitely a worthwhile addition for those lucky enough to have mild ground in their area, but even for using it on dry beach sand or in a coin/relic scenario with loamy non mineralised soil.
